Yeah the mtx, grind and daily spinners are a big bummer. It’s weird how Sony’s other games like Horizon Dawn Zero and God of War have none of that crap(maybe Uncharted 4 too, don’t know I haven’t played it). So I wonder if it’s decided by the studio and not Sony.I'm just holding onto the hope this game/franchise can draw me in like the franchise once could. I've been a heavy GT gamer for years ever since the birth of Gran Turismo. It's just gotten worse as the series released more games, as far as grinding went. But this version just left me so frustrated and I don't want to get frustrated like thay by entertainment naturally, so all I do is the occasional cruise around in a favourite car or 2 as it is a good looking drive here. But not long after that, I start to remember just how bad this game is for me and turn it off. It's a grind and a broken mess in regards to their new direction.
Went from a hardcore fan to one that's too full of criticism. I've cooled from my early frustratuons and disapointment, but with today's gaming trends of microtransactions, and this game lying about adding them, I fear my GT peak days are long gone now. I pop by here in hope the penalty system is fixed and some content is added/changed to make it just a fun game as much as a racing sim. It fails on both counts for me until then.
Wasted potential to me. There's room in today's gaming for a well thought out campaign not to be an afterthought, even RDR2 made near a billion. There's room in today's gaming not to make things only obtainable with a horrendous and boring grind. And there's certainly room in today's gaming to not make things like that penalty system so troll friendly and broken.
A bit of a shame, but one dud in the franchise after this many years won't see me give up hope just yet. The next GT really needs to score a home run though, it really does. If these guys do like Rockstar and Red Dead Online, and show they've learned nothing but how to cause friction and monitise every little aspect. Times are gonna get dark in future. Granted, the MTX here aren't as intrusive as others, though 'the grind' really is, at least in GT6 there was incentives and events to counter it. Sony see what others do and I'm sure if those other companies clean up, Sony will want to as well. Regardless of what PD want to do.
I can't lie, the recent issues some are having with store bought cars is hilarious to me. I'm really hoping that causes some to just thing 'pass' but with some defence I've read from confessed glitchers and casino-like whales, it's tragic to think they'll just get more grindy and greedy with MTX. They know some just don't care about gaming and will just throw money at it, gaming suffers that way.
As usual, some will just write this off. But look at the gaming world right now, then consider that many investors just don't care about us gamers and want a return. That simple. Something's gotta pop, or it'll just get worse.
In short, was obsessed, now just fatigued by the poor creative behind this and many games of late. Knock it all you want, that's just how I feel. Sorry.
Yep. PD shouldn't have scrimped this series from having exciting features, since somehow, that's what happened with GT Sport.I'm just holding onto the hope this game/franchise can draw me in like the franchise once could. Yeah I hear RDR2 is amazing lived RDR1 still love Drive club and Dirt Rally is very good shame dirt4 was not as good could not get into onrush at all n the need 4 speed games are just OKMy First GT game was GT2 on the PSone, the only one after that I never got was GT6 for some reason. I love Gt Sport, I never really raced online before but now I love it. I boycotted GT Sport for a few months because of the changes they made to the FIA events but now that they have changed to something a agree with a bit more I am back.
I love it, I put on a custom playlist on Spotify and drive laps, it's so relaxing to me.
This weekend I brought my wheel out of retirement and went through the SP Campaign, it was so much fun. I'm a lot slower on the wheel so I don't dare use it for online since I'm too competitive to race with something I know I'm slow in. At the moment it's one of a few games I cycle through but it never lost it's appeal like most games do. Red Dead 2 comes to mind, super fun for a month, beat the story, shelved.
It may be off-topic already but is there any Collin McRae rally game for the PS4? That game is great for those who like to race with rally cars.Yeah I hear RDR2 is amazing lived RDR1 still love Drive club and Dirt Rally is very good shame dirt4 was not as good could not get into onrush at all n the need 4 speed games are just OK
Oh I forgot about Eiger Nordwand on PS3, that was pretty much all I played when the ps3 came out. GT5p was great as well, precursor to GT Sport online modes!
Hard to believe that was 12 years ago already. I see I sucked at taking pictures.
Dirt Rally look it up, Dirt Rally 2 is coming out do not get Dirt 4 you will be wasting your time Dirt Rally is what will sort your Colin McRae cravings out.It may be off-topic already but is there any Collin McRae rally game for the PS4? Oh yes, I forgot the series became named that one. The game is cool but I wish it had more rally cars available on it.Dirt Rally look it up, Dirt Rally 2 is coming out do not get Dirt 4 you will be wasting your time Dirt Rally is what will sort your Colin McRae cravings out.
Loved Geoff Crammond Grand Prix, I remember playing F1GP 2 on my old 486 had to turn all the detail off as I had a slow PC, Geoff Crammond what a legend will have to google him and see what he is doing these days.GT Sport is the first driving sim i've ever had (actually no, i had Geoff Crammond Grand Prix back in the day).... do i like it... am i obsessed? Well the wife said 'if you don't pay me more attention and stop playing that stupid driving game then i'm leaving you'
I said 'well i'd switch to the wet tyres, it's throwing it down out there'
Miss so meany of the Cars from Gran Turismo 3 & 4 this was a beast! This is my obsession, I treat it like an LMP.
Have you tried Assetto Coursa I do like that sim alot if you have a wheel deff get itThis is the game I have waited for coming out on the Playstation 4. Also a game I will keep playing because it gives me the satisfaction I was looking in a sim racer. Offline racing, online racing with a system that prevents a wreckfest (i cannot deny that this is not the perfect system yet) and enjoying the livery creation.
