Where is the wireless router? Are you testing speeds next to it? What obstacles are between you are it? The frequencies and power used by wireless routers for the home can have issues getting through some materials. Also, make sure any slipters are properly grounded.
  1. It's in the living room
  2. Yes
  3. Vonage,Microwave,Home Phone are in the way if I'm in the Bedroom

Regular home internet using Ethernet on the laptop
I missed this one. Your wired connection is slower than wireless? What sort of equipment are you using? Is this straight from the modem or through a router?

It's thru a router cable extension which has more ports. That connects to my modem.

What exactly is a router cable extension? What is the make and model? does it also do your wifi or is that a function of the cable modem?

Ahhh, a switch. Ok, try hooking up the computer directly to the modem and try another speed test. It's possible the switch could be going south. Are you renting a modem or have your own? Also,
Oddly you seem to be experiencing the opposite issue than me, where as my wireless runs way slow but my Ethernet connection is great. Honestly though, I think it is all to do with comcost sucking at life.

It's our own modem :D I'll try

I should have taken a screen before I downgraded but I had Comcast's really fast connection. I did a test just before downgrading. It peaked at 131mb/s way too much for what I use. Now i'm maxing at 25 mb/s

We are also on one of Comcast top plans. the 100/25 plan.I'm not impressed. While hitting one of Comcast servers, I can get 100. But it seems to be capped way lower when trying to hit others. Especially if I'm on the wireless portion of my network. However, I host two servers, with plans to expand with a SAN and a few more higher end servers. That however, won't be until Lightspeed finally hits my neighborhood and I can get 1g up and down fiber ran to my house. When that happens my entire network infrastructure is going to change.

TWC here. We got the updated speeds only cause Google fiber might be coming to town with in the next few months/years.

Anyone on Google Fiber yet? I would like to see that speed.

That's great and all but 150 feet from a phone booth in NYC doesn't do me, or even most New Yorkers, much good from a home use perspective.

Not ideal at the moment; I should be sitting with over 100... but still, not complaining! That being said, it is wireless...

No limits, do what you want.
Awesome. The only times I used faster internet was at University. Mind blown how quick that was when I first used it, the main thing slowing it down was the network card. Remember uploading this video on YouTube: Link and it was already 100% faster than my home internet would be to load up just the front page.
