I think the lowest you can go is to "1". So switch to "1" on the straights, you can even leave it at 2 all the time on most tracks.

I can actually use 2 now all the time on most tracks but you have to feather the throttle. Works well if you use the Analogue Sticks, or even better pedals.

In offline mode, in the settings you can change the presets, such as 1 or 2 or 3 to whatever percentage of TC you want. I think thats what Alltidxx means, would it work better if we put preset 1 at 0% TC? Do you reach a higher speed or do you reach the same high speed faster, or how does it work?

Ah OK, sorry I was referring to online mode, I didn't know you can select a % offline !!! In offline mode I just use the default % of whatever 1 or 2 or 3 has been set to.

The top speed is always the same, it's just you get to it quicker :)

Small update for me:

I just noticed the typo I made on Bahrain. It should be a 1:33 not 1:32
Sepang 1:32.578 (Renault, auto, sixaxis)
Melbourne 1:26.901 (Renault, auto, sixaxis)

All these times are set offline. There is too many glitches online so times set online cant be proven.

Hey VDUB, you ain't gonna let me live that down are ya! :dunce: I promise I won't do it tonight! :D :scared:
All the times I've submitted and I believe all the times in this thread are from offline (TT, GP Weekend, Career, etc). At least for me, with the ability to tune your car offline, I can typically be 1-2 secs quicker offline then online. I'm sure one of the other guys here can explain/confirm it as well.

Suede are'nt you at work. To me that is some of the best fun talkin smack with good competition.

Your point?

Yeah, it's all good man. I just feel bad because I did it 2 (3?) times in the same 🤬 corner. You just need a better line that's all ... :D

Sadly enough here are my best times to date:

Bahrain 1.33939 auto DFGT ABS

Sepang 1.34245 " " " "

Melbourne 1.26627 " " " "

Suede buddy just kidding see ya tonight.

All times in Ferrari

All is updated, it should be ok, but I'll read over it later for mistakes.

Edit: At long last all the times from previous weekly series events have been added to this thread, so any visitors will be confused when they see BMW's and MF1's setting some of the fastest times at some of the tracks!

Back in F1:CE & running through another WC season. It's gratifying to see that I'm still improving my times by significant amounts, although I'm a long way off the pace of the fastest drivers. :(

Silverstone 1:19.630 (Biggles, Ferrari)
Montreal 1:12.06 (Biggles, Ferrari)
Indianapolis 1:09.155 (Biggles, Ferrari)
Magny Cours 1:14.633 (Biggles, Ferrari)

(I can't believe Shaggy & Alireza have run 1.10xxx laps at Magny Cours! :boggled: Have you guys got access to nitro boosting or something...?)

One thing to remember ,is the times set in weekly hot laps , would not be able to set in race at 30% distance or more, as tyres & fuel would probably not eventuate to the times.

I have taken one of my setups (I do all mine in TT) to a weekend race and destoyed the tyres in 6 laps, so to give a little life to them ,I have to ask less of them, inturn GO SLOOOOWWWER, Dam I hate doing that.

Isn't it always dusk in TT mode? I can't seem to drive well with that lighting.

Good that it worked out that way (it should). Also, for races a bigger priority is to have a stable car so to allow for some mistakes without major impact. For one lap one might as well as have an all-or-nothing setup since mistakes will not matter if they will have serious consequenses or not, because the lap can and will be re-run regardless. You know that of course, I'm just saying ;)

Another update from me, albeit on the slow side. More practice for me....

Nurburgring 1:29.440 (Suede53, Renault, sixaxis)

Silverstone 1:20.510 (Suede53, Renault, sixaxis)
Motreal 1:11.014 (Suede53, Renault, sixaxis)

This looks like the right place for this. I go by the name bigEfan. I live in the United States about an hour or so drive from Road America. I am an F1 Championship Edition addict! It looks like a few of you are just blazing fast. I'm down for sharing a few of my tips I've learned along the way and maybe some car setups too.

Ferrari - Career Mode - Six-Axis controller, Auto, TV Cockpit view

I own a Logitech Driving Force Pro and just love it for Gran Turismo games and NASCAR. I haven't been able to download the FFB patch (an error occurs), so I have no stories to compare on wheel vs. controller.

I better update this thread soon! And the rest of the times from the weekly series thread will be added after it has finished in 2 weeks. So I'll pencil this update in for tonight, aka sometime next week!!

Great to see so many F1CE fans, hopefully we'll all have a really good online mode to compete with each other on when Codemaster release their 2009 version.

@ bigEfan, I'm sorry but I cant help you with your downloading problem at all, which is why I didnt post in your thread, maybe someone will have experienced the same problem but it seems odd if its not the firewall which is blocking it.

Any one know when Codemasters version ( F109) will be out?

Started up a new profile and decided to actually try and grasp setting up a car. I'm still lost on a few settings and a few circuits, but I've made some progress since my early days with the game. Here's a list of my personal bests to date. All of them were performed in the Ferrari in World Championship mode. Also, all with an automatic gearbox and DualShock 3 controller.

Melbourne: 1'23.481 (Z, Ferrari)

Hey bigefan and z I'm sure it'll help GT4 post your times faster if you guys edit your posts using the following format for each time:

Example with sector times:
1:31.532 - 25.746/40.670/25.116 (nickname, Car)

Example without sector times:
1:31.532 (nickname, Car)

Just a friendly suggestion as I know it makes GT4's job a little easier :)

Updating all of this tomorrow, and of course its continuous so if anyone has anymore to post you better do it before I update, because the next update probably wont be for awhile, yous all know what I'm like. :guilty:

Melbourne - 1:23.448

Renault, GP Weekend, Auto.

Changes made to car setup:
Soft Tyres
60% Front wing
60% Rear wing
8 Front susp
8 Rear susp
-1.8 Front camber
-1.0 Rear camber
0.008 Toe
Ride height 15mm

Looking at the P.B. times again, I find myself wondering who's using a wheel & who's using a pad? I think this information should be included with the times.

My suspicion is that the fastest times are being set with a controller rather than a wheel, but I could be wrong. I content myself with the knowledge that I still have great races with the AI on Hard, whereas Fishfash, Alizera, Shaggy et al. must have really boring offline races as they are 2 - 4 secs a lap faster than the AI cars. ;)

So they start at the back in a Super Aguri and have fun that way!
Good idea about adding whether or not a person uses a wheel, if people let me know here I'll add in it the first post.
I also do seriously plan (really I do) to update the first post some time within the next few days, possibly tonight. 👍
