Hmmm... tough...

Currently:

1. The Simpsons

For the first twenty or so seasons, at least. But even the worst of the Simpsons is still watchable.

2. Scrubs

Banana Hammock! Banana Hammock! Banana Hammock!

The second series with the new cast, not so much.

3. Firefly

Too bad it only lasted one season. Thankfully, we have the comics. "Those Left Behind" is one of the few new comics I actually purchased within the last five years.

4. Avatar: The Legend of Aang

It really only starts picking up near the end of Season 1, but it's beautifully made, has some of the best and most realistic Kung Fu ever in a TV series or anime, and it's both approachable enough for kids to watch and deep enough for their parents to appreciate. The closest any kid's cartoon series has come to perfect.

5. Mythbusters

Jaime: "So... we didn't get the results we wanted. Myth busted."
Adam: "I still want to see an explosion!"
Jaime: "You know what THAT means." (rolls out chest full of C4...)

6. Top Gear UK

As journalism and as truth in journalism, it's down near the bottom of the barrel, but damn if it isn't entertaining watching them destroy things.

7. Iron Chef (Japan)

Fight!

8. The Angry Beavers

Did not. Did too. Did not! Did too!

9. House M.D.*

Aside from the fact that all the female doctors on the show are impossibly hot, bar the one they killed off for not being hot enough, fun show to watch.

10. Being Human (UK)*

Slow in parts, nonsensical in others, but somehow compellingly watchable. Too bad they dropped the ghost girl from the pilot episode, but her accent was so thick I don't think anyone could understand her dialogue without subtitles...

-----

*-might change mind in the future... but the top 8 are solid.

I desperately want to love Mythbusters, but the condescending narration absolutely kills me.

BTW, are we rating all shows or just currently-airing shows? My list was based off of currently-airing, but I’ve noticed some people are doing cancelled shows, so my list would change a bit if that were the case…

I have noticed that. They do repeat a lot of stuff that was said by the Mythbusters. And kinda assume everyone is too dumb to know the stuff. Quite vexing at times!

10 - Flashpoint
9 - NCIS
8 - How I Met Your Mother
7 - Arrested Development
6 - 30 Rock
5 - Buffy the Vampire Slayer
4 - Dollhouse
3 - Angel
2 - Castle
1 - Firefly

The Unit
24
That 70's Show
Friends
Family Guy
Cities of the Underworld
The Pacific
Pawn Stars
The Office
Modern Family

8 - How I Met Your Mother
5 - Buffy the Vampire Slayer

Much as I love "How I Met Your Mother", great characters/actors and some truly inspired skits, there are times when the writers seem to fall towards "Friends"-level silliness.

(Oops... speak of the devil... there it is up there! ^^^)

Buffy was good but got a bit silly during the College and later years... but the "musical" episode was one of the best things ever put on broadcast television.

Too bad Sarah Michelle Geller isn't a very good singer...

1. Boston Legal
2. Waking the Dead (Trevor Eve is golden)
3. Entourage
4. Castle
5. Friends
6. Top Gear UK
7. Mythbusters
8. Wheeler Dealers
9. Lost
10. Midsomer Murders :D

It was better in the latter "High School" seasons... as they didn't have her wearing those ridiculous falsies... guess it was to make her look more like the fuller-figured Kristy Swanson from the movie.

Whatever, it was only afterwards that she really matured into the role.

Don't hate. I bought the OST from the 'high school' years seasons. :scared:
It only had one good track on it. :grumpy:

1. Lost
2. Burn Notice
3. Dragonball Z
4. Game of Thrones (which will inevitably plunge to stupidity once it gets to books 3/4/5)
5. Everybody Loves Raymond
6. Seinfeld

It's really hard to find good TV shows amongst the bazillion doctor-nurse-patient dramas.

Obviously the following shows deserve a mention:

- Seinfeld
- Top Gear
- South Park
- Battlestar (remake)
- Dexter
- Star Trek TNG
- Firefly
- Cowboy Bebop
- House
- MASH
- The Man Show
- The Daily Show
- Saturday Night Live
- 24
- Everybody Loves Raymond
- The Simpsons
- Big Bang Theory

There are only a handful that I would say don't have blemishes.
- SouthPark
- The Simpsons
- Firefly
- Cowboy Bebop
- Seinfeld
(I'm assuming televised sports are not allowed)

There are some that achieved perfection for a limited time:
- Dexter (I've been told, haven't gotten far enough to see non-perfect Dexter)
- 24 (first half of first season)
- Battlestar (mini series, season 1)
- House
- Top Gear

Then there are some that have blemishes throughout, but hit a high mark regularly:
- SNL
- Everybody Loves Raymond
- MASH
- The Man Show
- The Daily Show
- Star Trek TNG
- Big Bang Theory

Obviously the first category belongs, but it's hard to pick between the second two. Do I pick a show that was a shining example of amazing television right before they screwed everything up and went to the toilet? Or do I pick a show that was never really amazing, but was always solid. Battlestar was better than Firefly, for longer than firefly ran. So do I hold the ending against Battlestar and say it was worse than Firefly because it kept going?

Battlestar Galactica was good until the end of Season 1.5 (Captain going up against the Female Captain).

Then it got worse, and worse and worse and ...

1 - Peep Hole
2 - Dr. House
3 - Law & Order: SVU
4 - South Park
5 - Pawn Stars
6 - Lost

That's all I can think of.
