Well, what are your views on download accelerators like Speed Bit's Download Accelerator Plus? When I get fast download rates, I can't tell the difference. So, I uninstall them. When I get slow download rates, I wish I hadn't just to see if they do boost them.

It works like Kazaa - the more people you are downloading off of at the one time, the faster your download.

The download accelerator searches for more sources on the internet to download your file from.

I use Flashget. Mostly just to see how much I donwload. I don't know how much it really accelerates downloading, but it claims to.

I was downloading something and it was going to take 2 hours. I just installed Download Accelerator Plus (ad-supported unfortunately :(). Now I'm up to 69% with 3min remaining.

Getright isnt really that much of a Accelerator, more of a Manager.

I got a crack for getright a while ago, but I'm not to talk about that.

They do nothing to 'accelorate' your downloads that you couldn't do without them. What they do is create a larger cache space to store websites and their images. Sometimes they also change your settings for how many packets your recieve before send a packet out, but that's customizeable without those programs as well. I personally believe all they are is a waste of money and CPU resources.
