Your Worst Experiences With Food

One time, my parents and I went to a seafood restaurant called Peter's Fishery. The seafood we ordered smelled and tasted horrible. That night, my parents had to go to the ER for food poisoning.

Last evening, I had a mushroom burger that tasted gross. The patty was dry as heck, and the burger had a strange after taste.

Gastritis when I was on vacation in Austria. Happened twice. First time, I had to spend a few days in the hospital and the second time, I spend my time in my hotel room (medicine administered intravenously).

I once made other people sick by feeding them undercooked meat. :dunce:

(Unintentionally ofcourse)

It was probably their worst experience with food.

What's Gastritis? (sounds like a stomach problem)

When I finished high school, I took a year off to earn some money before going to university. I got a job in a fruit and vegetable store, and it was hell. To this day, I cannot eat zucchini, cauliflower, cabbage or broccoli because they were in my section of the store and the sight of them is enough to bring back memories of the bad ones that I used to have to dig out since my boss was a cheapskate.
Worth trying, you might find it tasty and get over that phobia.

Like that laugh at the end. They were probably like this :ill: and once they felt better you were probably like this :

I wish we had one (or an IHOP); the only 24 hour restaurant we have is a place called the Omelet Shoppe. The food is ok but, it's greasy and usually gives you dirrheaia. Plus its not the cleanest of places. The place stays packed all day though but, after midnight it's full of drunk rednecks.

Had some deer sausage shortly after Christmas this past year. Bad Idea. That night I vomited so bad that I was in bed for the whole weekend.

The only food that has ever made me sick was 16 years ago at Taco Bell. Threw up after eating a 7 layer burrito and haven't been back since.

If I want tacos, that's what quick Taco Johns is for.

Never been to taco bell. Now I have a reason to not go there.

When I was little I tried White Castle, I "returned" the food before we left...

That was the one and only time I've eaten there.

Sounds a bit like Waffle House.

I'm not a choosy person when it comes to food and usually it doesn't knock me out for 3 days straight. I ate some cheese with regional bacon (called Speck) wrapped around, just like this:

The 1st one went down like butter but the 2nd was a bit colder and something must have happened with it. I layed in bed having a viral infection in my digestive system and couldn't drink nothing but water.

Impressive length of time to not be sick from food 👍. Burrito reminds me of Man v. Food:

Well, when I lived in CT; I once tried the Fish & Chips from a grocery store called "Price Chopper". Anyway, it was probably the worst fried fish I ever tried. It still had bone in it, it was dark in some areas, and it was a bit slimey looking. I never wanted fish from them again and I got my Fish & Chips from "Big Y" instead.

I'm an incredibly fussy eater too. I don't eat any form of vegetables, aside from lettuce occasionally. That includes potatoes, meaning chips, roast potatoes and so on are off the table, if you'll pardon the pun. Moreover, I don't eat bread, so no normal sandwiches (only subway, for some reason), although I do eat pizza and a lot of Italian food..

Every single time, my Dad makes us dinner and I have no Milk with me.

Great Food but the feeling you get in your tongue is insane. I think it actually got me to not feel the spice that much on most spicy foods.

Two stories.

1. I debated on even discussing this but here goes.... I grew up very poor and moved a lot. So I have had some bad food here and there. At one point ended up with other relatives that were poor. For a period of a few months I was only able to eat a certain type of cereal. How it was obtained I have no idea but this is the bad part coming up. I wont tell you what cereal it was so you are not traumatized for life like I have been.

*spoiler alert this is nasty*

The cereal they obtained was very old, outdated, stale, and here comes the good part. LOADED with bugs. I don't mean a couple here and there, I mean a bowl full of bugs constantly crawling and swimming in the milk. The cereal was gut wrenching disgusting. I tried to drown out the taste using milk and sugar but that barely helped. Luckily after a few months we moved, again, and I didn't have to eat that cereal any more. But wow.

2. I was eating a can of cheddar cheese pringles for the very first time and they started out fairly good then I noticed they seemed a little bitter. Thought maybe that was just how they tasted after a few bites. Ate about 10 of these and then decided to look down further in the can. Yup the entire bottom half was covered in mold.

There's a Price Chopper near me that sells fish & chips. Thankfully, their fish isn't like that.

My worst experience? I already told my worst experience but there is another less worst experience but nevertheless not a nice experience and many people go through this experience.

getting fatter

I decided to have a bowl of cereal one morning, with some milk that was 5 days away from expiring. I poured it in my cereal and started eating. I found that the cereal tasted a little odd, but it didn't seem too bad so I continued eating it anyway. After finishing eating, I smelled the milk to see if it was sour. Sure enough, it was.

That was a regular occurrence during my school years. I was the only one who used full fat milk so sometimes forgot to throw old the older milk that had gone bad. Once it was on the cereal I would just get on with it though.
