Zonda R

So I've added some HP (all tunes) to try and do the GT All Stars with this car. I need the extra HP for the straights so I don't get blown away by the LMP cars.

I have trouble putting the power down even in a straight line. I'm using a G27 and I have TCS=1 and ABS=1, since I think in real life you'd be mad to drive this car with TCS off.

Even with TCS=1 I can see the TCS reducing throttle in 1st and 2nd gear when I'm in a straight line. Is there anyway I can get the rest of the acceleration I'm missing, or is it just impossible to put that power down without the downforce from higher speeds?

I also have a lot of understeer that I think came from me trying to tune out some of the throttle induced oversteer.

Also, I've noticed that in mid corner light throttle seems to straighten the car up and induce understeer, like it's a FF car.

Even though this car is extremely well tuned stock, adding Racing Soft tires and another 250 HP changes the tuning a lot. I also kinda doubt that it IS that well tuned stock, since when you first go look at the suspension settings they're all neutral.

I highly doubt that it can't be made faster with a good tune, I'm just not a great tuner yet, but I'm learning. So some help, or a starting point would be nice.

Thanks.

I've figured it out, at least partially. I'm not looking at my setup ATM, but I'll post it when I get a chance.

It's not as fast as it could be, but it's pretty damn fast, and easier to drive than stock. Still takes a lot of throttle control, but once you learn how to drive it, it's a damn fast car, and fun too.

I beat the All Stars with it, despite forgetting to change my top speed for Nurburgring. I was limited to about 207 so I had to block the LMP car behind me the whole way down the straight, won by 0.8 seconds.

Most of the wins were within about 1.5-2 second margins, so it didn't spank them, but it was enough to win.

Once you learn how to feather the throttle, the Zonda is the best drive in the game IMO

I would have to agree. I got my hands on the Mazda 78b1 LMP car and I got the Peugot LMP car and while they are obviously better, they're not better by much. I mean it.

Here's my current setup. Not the fastest probably, but pretty darn fast.

The Zonda R takes a lot of throttle control. It has a ton of power and weighs almost nothing, so you definitely can't put down too much power in the corners. Very easy on the throttle until you straighten it out, very important to learn.

I bought the High RPM turbo, Racing Soft tires, and the chassis reinforcement thing. The chassis thing seemed to tame some of the oversteer, and it was only $20k, so I think it's worth it, but I'm not sure, it's hard to tell. Buy whatever else it doesn't have, I can't remember if it comes with the Engine Stage 3 or not, but I have it.

Don't forget to change the oil. This car loses HP very quickly for some reason. After a few testing sessions I was down from 958 to 920, quick oil change gets it all back.

Step 1) Turn the downforce all the way up, for every track. It's worth it.

Step 2) Transmission at 224 mph for most tracks, more like 249 for Nurburgring.

Step 3) LSD Initial/Accel/Brake at 20/40/15.

Suspension I think I left alone, but it's currently at 0 ride height, 12.8/15 front/rear spring, 7/7 both dampers, and 4/4 anti-roll. All the wheel alignment is standard.

It could probably be faster, but it's pretty darn fast like this.

I think changing the throttle and brake to r2 and l2 is a must anyway. How else can you play with all assists turned off on a gamepad?

does no one use the right joystick? it's really intuitive... push up for throttle, pull back for brake. it's also pretty easy to get the hang of, especially if you play a lot of modern warfare or other FPS

I've tried it once or twice. It's also a good alternative. I shift with the right joystick though. I love being able to flick my thumb up and down to shift. Feels really good!

Ran a 134.677 at Monza with this setup. My fastest time in a non LMP car yet. And I didn't even cut the bumpers like you're allowed to do for some reason and still have a valid lap time. Still some room for improvement but it felt really good even though I also felt like I could die at any given moment! This car is unsafe!! Post your Monza (with chicane) times!

I think I'm going to buy another Zonda later and tune it up. I have a stock one atm and love it to death. Anyone happen to have a tune for a stock one (but with racing soft and chasis reinforcement done)?
