It's amazing how similar that scenery looks to the desert here, except for the distinct lack of cacti.

I'd love to visit an old airstrip or something like that one day, but I'm not sure if there's any left over here. A quick Google shows that most airstrips abandoned after the war were built on. There's a small airfield about a mile or two away from me, but it's still very much in use.

New Zealand is so small we can barely get the one functional airport in it, let alone an abandoned one!
