One of the details that may have flown under the radar during the reveal of Forza Horizon 3 was the return of two fan-requested features to the franchise: the Auction House and Storefront. As we get our own content together from the show floor, we’ve got a breakdown of these two features for those unfamiliar with them.
The Auction House, appropriately enough, allows players to place their own creations up for sale, at a price of their choosing. For tuners and painters, this offers a different avenue than simply offering their work up for download, as they can limit the exclusivity of their work. A new rating system will be incorporated, so that players will be able to identify the cream of the crop within the community. Crafty players will also be able to use the Auction House as a workaround way of sending others credits.
The Storefront marks a welcome return to form for content creators, having last been seen in the Xbox 360 era like the Auction House. Instead of the current titles’ simpler approach, where community designs are seemingly plucked randomly and displayed when a player purchases a new car, drivers will now be able to find all of another player’s creations under one roof. This includes liveries, tuning setups, photos, and vinyl layer creations. Players will be able to follow their favourite creators and receive notifications when they’ve released new content.
With FH3 being released on Xbox One and Windows 10, Turn 10 has stated that both features will work across platforms. In the interview with The Smoking Tire, Dan Greenawalt said PC players will be getting unique controls for the livery editor, but that the system will not allow the importation of images. With T10 and Playground Games confirming with other outlets that liveries from both FH2 and FM6 can be imported to Horizon 3, it’s understood the editor will be largely similar to those games, if not identical.
We’ve had a chance to get behind the wheel of Horizon 3 on the show floor, as well as talk with the game’s developers. Stay tuned for that and more over the coming days, and swing by our newly-created Forza Horizon 3 forum section to talk more about the game.
This game totally makes me think of what Motorstorm on PS4 could have been. They even have a “festival”….
Sounds like cool features.
I never noticed that lawn chair before now. Fly. Fly, you beautiful piece of plastic furniture!
Also, is it September yet?
I wonder who was sitting on it :x
A mutant spider would be my guess.
That is one DURABLE chair to have survived being hit by a car.
This would of made more sense if it was a Mustang. ?
@acedition333 Hahaha, so true :D
Fly, you beautiful lawn chair!
