Gran Turismo Stocking Stuffers for 2009

gifts-2009Although Sony may have decided that we wouldn’t find Gran Turismo 5 under the tree this year, that doesn’t mean that the GT fanatic in your life needs to have a gloomy Christmas dreaming about “what could have been”. Even if they haven’t been good enough this year for a VisionRacer VR3 or a Wheel Stand Pro, there are actually quite a few unique and rare items out there which I know I would certainly love to receive. So, as the holiday shopping season starts in full swing today, here’s a few gift ideas you might not have considered for yourself or that ultimate fan. Keep in mind, however, that one-of-a-kind items on eBay go quickly after I spotlight them on GTPlanet (that’s what happened last year), so don’t hesitate too long if you find something you really like.

Of course, it’s always a good time to pick up something from the GTPlanet Store – and really, who doesn’t want a thong bearing our logo? Happy shopping, everyone!

I disagree with the last guy. RC is only expensive if you don’t take good care. I take my Associated RC18T over to my friend’s dirt rc race track here in town. These things are so freaking fun, we even build a mini dirt oval and put some ridiculous motors in them. The mud that flys out is pretty hilarious.

Saw one of those GTs at my local R/C shop. I’m just gonna warn you all right now, DON’T BUY R/C CARS, THEY FRICKEN RUIN YOUR WALLETS (BREAKING ALL THE TIME), Curse you Kyosho and Team Losi. Stick with GT5 lol.
I’m getting a Driving Force GT for Christmas, just got GT5P with the gift card lying around the house. Too bad I didn’t buy it earlier.

I have the Ford GT LM 1:18 (the white GT4 version) , i love it, is such a nice car, i like it way more than the real racing version.

I remember this last year’s “GT gift idea” news bulletin like it was yesterday. Has it really been a year already? And here we are.. still no GT5. :-(

Cheers Dan I’ll give the G25 a go then. Was thinking about the wheel stand pro anyways so that seals the deal. Nice one.

p37mac; get the G25 if you can afford it. The G27 is also a good wheel, but on the whole not worth the extra dosh, according to a number of reviews.

I’ve got the wheel stand pro, and I personally think it was a great investment (since I’m short on space, but still in need of a solid frame), though justifying the extra £100 cash is tough for some.

Talking about christmas i’m looking to get my first wheel and stand. I can get the logitech gt for £100 but is it worth forking out a bit more on the g27? I don’t know which is the better value for money. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
