Nintendo Switch owners rejoice! If you’ve been hoping to add a racing sim to your collection, look no further than GRID Autosport.
Originally announced last November, the 2014 Codemasters title is making its way to the Nintendo Switch this summer. Moreover, it will be the first real sim racer for the platform. While Autosport may not be as hardcore as Assetto Corsa or Project CARS, it’s certainly a step in the right direction.
This certainly opens the platform to more racing games and that’s always a good thing. Who knows, with enough of a push we could see more racers make their way to Nintendo’s platform.
Codemasters released the original game way back in June 24, 2014 on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. Autosport was the direct answer to the polarizing GRID 2, addressing many of the criticisms directed toward its predecessor. Naturally, the biggest change is none other than the returning cockpit camera view that was unceremoniously dropped in the previous game.
There will plenty to keep players occupied in the vast career mode, where players will make or break their own career. Racing disciplines are expansive, ranging from Touring Cars to the Le Mans-winning Mazda 787B endurance racer. The track list is no less impressive with 100 routes spanning across 22 locations.
Keep an eye out for more on GRID Autosport coming to the Nintendo Switch as we draw closer to its release.
