GT Academy Finale on Speed Tues. at 10PM ET, Live Twitter Viewing Party (with Prizes!)

It’s been interesting and entertaining to watch America’s fastest Gran Turismo players make the transition from virtual to reality over the last four weeks, and now the final episode of GT Academy on Speed TV airs this Tuesday, October 18th at 10PM Eastern Time. If you haven’t been able to watch, don’t worry – all the episodes are right here.

“Live Viewing Party” & Prize Giveaway

Nissan has teamed up with GTPlanet to host a live Twitter viewing party during the show’s finale on Tuesday, between 10:00PM and 11:00PM Eastern Time. To join in, simply include the #GTAcademy hashtag in your tweets, and watch the discussion unfold right here (no Twitter account is required).

To shake things up, @GTPlanetNews and @NissanNews will be posting trivia questions throughout the show. There’s some nice prizes up for grabs to those who take part, including a Logitech Driving Force GT, an Xlerator Wheel Stand, and plenty of official Nissan gear. Read over the official contest rules for all the details and eligibility requirements (note that only U.S. citizens can win the prizes).

GT Academy judge Tommy Kendall (@TommyKendall11), along with competition finalists Sean Johnston (@seanjracing), Andre Gomes (@fixbywire), John Wilding (@johnswilding), and Gregory Russell (@gregory_russell) will also be joining us on Twitter. They’ll be answering your questions and offering their own thoughts and perspectives on the show throughout the broadcast.

Help Out and Win a $20 PSN Gift Card

As with most parties, the more people, the better! To help spread the word about our viewing party and the GT Academy finale on Speed TV, Nissan will be providing $20 PSN gift cards – more than enough to cover the latest Gran Turismo 5 DLC – to four lucky people who simply tweet the following message any time before 10PM on Tuesday, October 18th:

Join @GTPlanetNews & @NissanNews Tues 10PM ET for a live #GTAcademy viewing party with prizes (PS3 wheel & more!). http://bit.ly/oYuZSy

The link in the tweet will direct people to this page for more information. For all the details and eligibility requirements, please read over the official contest rules (note this competition is also restricted to U.S. citizens only). All thanks goes to Nissan for offering these prizes and providing GTPlanet with a $100 PSN gift card to help promote these contests.

Thank you to all who help spread the word – this will be fun!

Hmm… I’d like a shot at that Xcelerator stand. Don’t have a rig so something like that might do nicely. Gonna have to try to win it…

… Probably won’t get a single trivia question right though, or my internet will crap out if I do. >_< Oh well…

I gained alot of respect for these guys after seeing them in these videos, i hope GT Academy comes back to the states in another year or so. Grats to everyone who made it to silverstone!

  3. another_jakhole

These guys are truly amazing. The determination they’ve all put forth is brilliant. They each deserved to be there.

@uncle_hayly_i if u look closer at the bottom of the pic u`ll see ”pro driver, closed course, do not attepmt” so i dont think this is taken from GT5

So let me get this straight so I know for sure whats going on:

All I have to do to enter the contest for the wheel is include the #GTAcademy hash tag in a tweet and I do not need a Twitter account at all to do this?

    1. Jordan

To win the wheel, send a tweet with the #GTAcademy hashtag between 10:00PM and 11:00PM ET on Tuesday, during the show’s broadcast. You will need a Twitter account to post such a tweet (you can join Twitter here, for free, in about 30 seconds).

If you simply want to watch the party’s discussion unfold, you do not need a Twitter account.
