The 2012 U.S. GT Academy champion is about to be revealed, this coming Thursday, December 6, as the finale of the reality TV show airs at 11:30pm EST/PST and 10:30 CST on Spike TV.

To help celebrate, GTPlanet is co-hosting another live Twitter viewing party with Nissan during the show with – once again – over $500 in prizes up for grabs to all eligible participants.

The grand prize includes a Logitech Driving Force GT with BigBoy Xlerator Wheel Stand; to win, just tune into the show and tweet post a tweet containing the #GTAcademy hashtag sometime between 11:00pm ET and 12:30am ET on the night of Dec. 6th.

Nissan GT-R hooded jackets, copies of Gran Turismo 5, and a $40 PlayStation Network gift card will also be awarded to winners of our Twitter trivia questions, which we’ll be posting via our @NissanNews and @GTPlanetNews Twitter accounts during the show.

Remember, you must be over 13 and a resident of the United States to win; read over the official contest rules for more information. Thanks, as always, to Nissan for sponsoring this competition and compensating GTPlanet for its involvement in this event.

I don’t understand, GTPlanet has a pretty good European following yet still only US entrants? :( This makes me a sad bunny!

I hope they have an actual race in the final episode. These challenges they do are fun and all, but let’s see what they can do in a situation with the other drivers all around them…you know, an actual race.

Why it’s needed to be a resident in the US? I want the prizes and can’t compete for them because I live in another country.. I don’t find that fair, but what can we do..

Unfortunately, every country has different rules, regulations, and laws governing competitions and giveaways; that’s why every one that you see will be limited to residents of a particular nation.

I’m going with Nick all the way.
Really looking forward to seeing the guys race for real. A 1 on 1 race between Nick and Jett for the win would be epic!
It’s about time we found out who won, the secret business must be killing the competitors.

I couldn’t believe how much they struggled with your name, Nick. So is it really “Bar-bay-toe” or “Bar-bah-toe”?

      Haha :)

Jeremiah – thanks man, I really appreciate words coming from guys like you. It let’s me know that there are intelligent people out there that can see through the TV-Drama and look at the real data in the times. :) Hey, I went for it and was fully committed in the corner at the limit of traction, there was no adjusting my trajectory enough to make it through the gate once I realized my plan of attack was not inside of it; just turns out the gate wasn’t where I placed the car :D. I guess my thought was “it’s just a foam gate, that’s softer than the cones I go around at autocrosses!” and wasn’t going to get a little thing like that stop me from dropping the hammer and setting the pace. In retrospect, it turns out the judges weren’t looking for that and wanted more conservative, but I don’t regret it one bit, it’s who I am and I’m proud of that. And proud to rep Gtplanet, and guys like you. Cheers.

Hydro – Thanks for your faith in me man, it’s appreciated

      Rees- How’s the baby? :)

Jordan – Yeah, I was like WTF mate?! :) It’s “Bar-Bay-Toe.” My biological father was Italian.
