2011 US GT Academy winner Heitkotter is making his Daytona Speedway racing debut in support of the 2014 United SportsCar Championship Rolex 24 Hours at Daytona competing in the Continental Sports Car Challenge “Daytona Rising 200.” He will be piloting the Skullcandy Nissan Altima Coupe along with Vesko Kozarov in the Street Tuner (ST) category. Bryan’s last professional race was back in September when he ran a Nissan GT-R in the Pirelli World Challenge GT Class. He has achieved much success running in CTSCC previously with the Doran Racing 370Z, this will be the first race for him in the front-wheel drive Altima racecar.
In related news, Nissan has plans to run a GT-R in the Tudor United SportsCar Championship. They initially planned on debuting the car at this weekend’s 24 Hour Daytona event, but was unable to develop the car in time. They will instead be debuting it mid-season and will give opportunity to US GT Academy winners to run in the premier North American sports car racing championship for the first time. 2012 US GT Academy winner Steve Doherty is confirmed to be joining Bryan in making up the driver lineup for the new Pro-Am category entry in the TUSCC GTD Class. Bryan and company have plenty of racing to look forward to this year.
