GT Sport’s N300-class Daily Race has changed. In a move to level the playing field, Polyphony Digital has converted the existing event into a one-make race featuring Honda’s hot hatch.
The change came shortly after a schedule re-jig which now has the three rotating Sport races starting every 20 minutes instead of once an hour. The N300 race, hosted at Brands Hatch Indy, previously allowed users’ garage cars.
Boasting 296hp when BOP’d, the mean Honda Red Emblem should provide plenty of close racing on the short circuit. With the turbo engine — a first for the Type R — there’s a whole lot of torque too, so you’ll need to be careful with throttle application. To put in a good lap time, patience is the name of the game. Hop on the right pedal too early, and you’ll wash right into the gravel at Paddock Hill.
Before the change, the race was largely becoming a one-make race already. Not with the Honda though, but the BMW M4. While the M4 starts in the N400 class out of the showroom, upgrading it by way of Mileage Points lets it slide into the class below. Even though the BMW has proven an early favorite in N300, we expect PD will adjust the BOP down the road.
In other news, today marked the game’s launch in its native Japan. With that, GT Sport is now available across the globe. Don’t forget to hop into our dedicated forums to keep up with all the latest developments on the game!
