When Kazunori Yamauchi accepted the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge from Forza Motorsport’s Dan Greenawalt last week, he took the opportunity to pass along the challenge to two more people: Lucas Ordoñez, original GT Academy champion, and Ken Kutaragi, the “Father of PlayStation” who was instrumental in the design and development of the original console.
Both stars accepted the challenge, and Kazunori actually participated in Kutaragi-san’s video, pouring cold water over the former Sony Computer Entertainment Chairman and CEO himself. Kutaragi passed along his challenge to Sony Corporation CEO Kaz Hirai.

Gt6 has gotten so dry it always was but I check gt planet a few times a day on my phone and its depressing. Its not the lack of material of gt planet its the lack of things that halpen that can become an article. Gt6 was a marketing tool 100 percent just so they could make some extra bucks off of us for next gen. Dont make a game thats a ripoff of the old one. Dont give that ripoff less features also. Wheres corse creator wheres B spec its been 300 days all weve gotten is imaginary hot wheels gt cars.
lol, this is funny and also a great way to help! :)
Kaz does the most legit ice bucket challenges. Everyone else waits for the ice to melt or barely puts any in there
In the case of Lucas, it seems he wanted it dumped from fairly high above for most visual impact, and I guess “sensuality” – see first post. ;D
From that high up, that would kind of be like getting golf balls dumped on your head, with corners, so I don’t fault Lucas for having an iceless challenge.
“Phew, that was cold, thank you.”
Ken Kutaragi – 2014
Did they also donate, or did they just cop out by doing the bucket only.
Good question.
Toro!!!!!!
I know nothing of ILS because people don’t bother to spell it out. Just ILS this ILS that… People are called to glory every minute of each day. Nothing and no one will stop it from happening. Leave it to me to google it… not gonna happen. Rather go racing.
Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis is a very serious and scary disease where your body basically runs out of power and your muscles begin to slowly shut down, leaving you trapped in your own body before dying through respiratory failure. See also: Locked-in syndrome and Metallica – “One.”
Wow, the internet: Where people come to reveal their ignorance, indifference and laziness! Maybe we should start a fund to cure Infamous Phil Syndrome.
@ Scheer, I know, right? The intranets would be a lot less clogged and much cooler if we weeded out the nonsense and flambe.
I can’t afford to donate to every worthy cause like this, because there are so darn many, and at most they’d get a dollar from me. I give to some un-newsworthy causes that better society and missionary work, where hopefully my money does more good.
I know most of us grownup working stiffs are being taxed to death by our “well meaning” governments, but most of us can afford to skip a few sodas and give $5 to one charity, and that would make the world a better place.
Probably gonna pay for that last comment.
Amyotropic Lateral Scoliosis. Thanks TeamCRZRacing.
Guess I had to flame to start a campaign to stop the lazy business of using acronyms. Lame, I know, but the TV said something about Lou Gerigs Disease and I wasn’t paying attention.
I remember years ago of reading about Lou Gerig (there’s an “h” in there somewhere I think) and how he suffered before dying. It was terrible to hear how such an acclaimed person could suffer at that time of his life. Please forgive if I am mistaken once again. But never heard of his disease referred to as LGD.
I have always heard it as LGD as well, until recently when ALS was thrown with this challenge. I always knew what LGD did, but never heard of ALS.
Apparently, the Ice Bucket Challenge started last year, but a lot of people are now doing it (well, the fad has begun to die really) just to gain anything from social media, and not donating at all.. I remember talks of it from friends about April-May about this, but it was no where near on the scale it has reached now..
That’s some redemption Phil, but you should try Google some time. Lou Gehrig’s story is out of most people’s memories, especially outside the U.S. so this challenge has renewed awareness and raised many millions for the cause. ALS (and other MNDs) are the sort of thing that strike even the fittest without warning, and so far there is no cure and hardly any mitigation of the effects, so it can only be a good thing that this has gone viral. Having known someone with MS (which is kinda in the same ball park) it shocked me that there was -nothing- that could be done about it. Hopefully that will change…
Don’t care much for this, but I must point at the fact that Kazunori and the other old man took it like real men, since they actually put ice on their water. I didn’t see ice on the guy from the first video.
Now back to work on those DLC packs, event generator, course maker and sound update!
I know right? Kaz and Ken are some of the only people I’ve seen do legit ice challenges with a lot of ice in them.
Interesting note on Japanese culture. That was almost more educational than inspiring! ;)
I’m just saying that Kaz should nominate EA to the ALS ice bucket challenge. It’ll freeze halfway, crash, and then ask you to buy a DLC pack before finishing.
ROFL. Best comment I’ve read on this thread yet, +1
Or a bucket of used Porsche engine oil that would have to be removed because only they have the licence for it ..
xD
i wounder what will happen if anyone choose Activision?
Pure gold!
So sensual with the slow mo and the music!
