New Gear.Club Unlimited Trailer Focuses on In-Game Features

Although this half of the year has been packed with massive racing games, a surprise announcement was Gear.Club Unlimited for Nintendo Switch. Eden Games has developed a premium version of its free mobile title for the new hybrid console and it certainly looks interesting.

Unlimited will be the first racer of it’s kind on the platform when it launches next month. A new trailer gives us a glimpse of what the game will offer and it certainly sounds impressive.

The title will feature all cars currently available in the mobile original, which includes models from the likes of Chevrolet, BMW and McLaren. The British manufacturer recently used Gear.Club in its World’s Fastest Gamer competition earlier this year. Locales to race the vehicles on won’t be limited either, as the trailer proudly proclaims that Unlimited will offer over 200 unique tracks. Not bad.

One of the most unique features of the game is the ability to not only customize your cars but also the garage that you store them in. The aesthetics of your car showroom can be tweaked to find the style just right for you. Other racing titles often feature a car showroom that can be changed from various presets but Eden’s garage editor tool is certainly a neat addition.

Gameplay modes seem extensive enough too, featuring time trials and rally racing alongside the traditional bulk of the game. In terms of multiplayer options, we also get our first glimpse at local split-screen with support for up to four players. Online multiplayer remains unconfirmed but the game will feature leaderboards for those interested in competitive action.

Gear.Club Unlimited may be a drop in the ocean for many racing fans, given how much quality content we’ve seen in 2017. That being said, the title has the chance to make an impact on a platform that probably won’t see many realistic racers in its lifetime. It’s a gamble for Eden Games but we’re very intrigued to see how it all pans out.
