The latest pair of racing wheels to come out of Thrustmaster’s skunkworks may seem very familiar. That’s because the wheels themselves are the same, but now come bundled with an elite set of pedals.
Much like the T300 RS GT Edition that quietly released back in October last year, the T150 PRO and TMX PRO include the spectacular T3PA pedal set. The T3PAs are a high-end set of pedals that include the Conical Brake Mod, which allows for progressive braking all the way through the pedal travel.
However, one major difference between the two packages is in fact the pedal set itself. The T300 RS GT Edition includes the “T3PA – GT Edition Pedal Set”, which is based on the original T3PA pedals, but employ a slightly new aesthetic and one key design change: the positioning of the brake pedal is non-adjustable.
This is not the case with the new T150/TMX PRO. The pedals included are the vanilla T3PAs, unmodified and with all adjustments (spacing, inclination and height) available on all three pedals—accelerator, clutch and brake.
While probably not a deal breaker for many, it is slightly curious as to why Thrustmaster didn’t just bundle in the original T3PA pedals with the T300 RS GT Edition to begin with, like they have with this new T150/TMX PRO package.
As most are aware by now, the T150 and the TMX are virtually the same wheels. The only difference being the T150 is designed to work only with the PS3, PS4 and PC, while the TMX is designed exclusively for the Xbox One and PC.
The T150/TMX is a great entry-level wheel for those looking to get started in sim racing. While not as premium as a T300 RS, the T150/TMX offers fantastic features at a more affordable price. With the T3PA pedals included, the new PRO variations of these wheels offer an even better opportunity for those looking to step into the world of sim racing!
As of writing, a price for the T150/TMX PRO has not been announced.
