That's a feature. It's designed to do that.

That can be a pain in the ass till you have a car like mine and forget to lock you door. :grumpy: Luckily I've been "trained" well enough to not to do that.

I bought my Sunfire new, and it's still not paid for, so I can't very well get rid of it without taking a hit from the bank. I guess that would be another con.

Mr. McShake
You have to lift the door handle to lock the front doors.

My GEO does this as well. I read the manual and it said it is a safe gaurd against accidentilly locking your keys in the car...

Yeah I figured it was a feature, but it's dumb. I remember to do it now, but any of my friends always forgets and I have to wait till they get out so I can lock their door myself.

^ Thats not actually true, they just have to remember to hold the handle up too ( I have the same feature on my 91' 626

Well .. I figure I'll give it a shot.

1994 Ford Mustang Coupe 3.8L V6

pros:
Power everything
Sunroof
Comfy Seats
Runs okay
Its red
CD Player
Excellent condition inside and out

cons:
Automatic
Its not a GT
140,000 miles
Transmission slips/grinds occassionally
Not enough room for a Leprechaun to sit in the back seat
The back half of the car is pinkish because of faded paint (bumper to the doorjam repainted due to accident)
Did I mention it was an automatic?
Rear defogger doesn't work well

I'm sorta banking this on the fact that its an automatic mustang .. I mean who the hell (other than me) can drive stick yet has an automatic mustang .. :sigh:

Sorry for my slacking off recently, I've had a lot to do. I probably won't be able to update the thread tonight, I have to go to work and then I have a lot of homework. I will be sure to update the thread tomorrow after school. Keep posting those turds that resemble cars! This club is way exceding my expectaions!

A little junk from italy!

1994 Lancia Dedra 1.8 i.e. (iniezione elettronica = electronic ignition)
The Dedra is the 4 door saloon of the famous delta, and there is also the 4WD Turbo version called Integrale.

Pros.
Low price ... 500€
Very confortable ... for 4 people ... good for 5.
I'ts a full optional! power steering, 4 power windows, Alloy wheel, A/C, ABS, Parking radar (in a 1994 car)
68000 kilometers (41200 miles) before the buy.
Rear Integrale Spoiler (mounted after the buy)
A lot of space in the back of the car.
Nice cockpit! ... 6 analogic instruments in 4 round + 1 check panel and 1 round for an analogick clock, all in 1 line
Wood inserts.

Cons.
Front wheel drive.
Low power (105 bhp for a 1.8 litre)
Heavy ...
No fuel saving!! 1 liter for 9.5 km!!!! (21.7miles per gallon) here 1 gallon cost 5.8 US$
Body not in perfect condition (since i have buy it!)
Not beautiful shape
Not relaible ... but for now i was lucky
Boring body colour
Ugly interior colour ... really!! ... i post a photo tomorrow!!
Small size wheel
The alarm system start always ... every day ... without any explanation.
Understeer is quite near on every angle ...
During very cold morning the power lock doesen't work .. so i have to warm up the key with some fire!
Cassette reader is crappy ...
I'ts a Fiat with a "luxury" Lancia dress on it

I'm I in? :dopey:

EDIT:
Oh! ... i forgot ...
The brake make noise ... in the car u have to close the ears ... they are louder than hell!
The check CPU turn on the "Broken brake light" without any explanation!

It sounds pretty junky... but not as junky as some of the other cars in the club. Are there any mechanical problems? It sounds to me like the only thing wrong with the car is low power, low fuel economy (because of the weight & low power) and possibly some cosmetic problems (expected on a 10 year old car).

You may make it in. However, even though I am the co-founder of the club (it says so in my signature :sly: ), I am not able to make the final decision concerning your club status. 5 judges have to make the decision as to whether or not your car is bad enough to make it in the club. Your status should be revealed no later than tomorrow...

Finally, I can get around to updating this thread. Sorry, no vote counts this time. Getting everyones clear votes was tough, and I'm buried in firefox tabs of my PMs right now...

VTGT07: Just because it's an automatic Mustang, doesn't make it crappy.
AP: 2002. Sure, it's a GM, but I don't see how a car can become half as crappy as you say in 2 1/2 years, unless you drive it into the ground.

VTGT07: Just because it's an automatic Mustang, doesn't make it crappy.
It does to me!

Its got all the creature comforts to make up for it though, I just thought I'd try for the hell of it :). I'm selling it over the summer to step up to a 2001 5spd Mustang so I would have pulled myself out in a few months anyways, lol.

I don't expect my car to make the list, as it's got a lot of virtues, but it's pretty awful as a Daily Driver. As I'll admit I'm not gonna make it into the club

-A/C non-functional
-Heat doesn't really work either
-Driver's side washer nozzle is non-functional
-Speedometer doesn't work
-Gas gauge doesn't really work. (There's about 1/4 tank above full and 1/4 tank below empty... and it'll jump around like crazy)
-Check Engine is ALWAYS on.
-No cat, no pipe, no muffler
-cracked rear brake caliper (just fixed)
-cracked master cylinder (just fixed)
-hackjob 5spd conversion with a cut-down auto pedal
-burns clutches (sorta fixed)
-Tweaked frame
-bent core support
-hole drilled in the hood
-crappy, ill-fitting, knockoff C-West bumper, spray painted pearl white (It was cheaper than stock!) (I crashed and smashed the stock one)
-suspension creaks and squeaks like crazy
-CD player can't eject CDs (replaced)
-One front, one rear, speaker. Both blown (replaced)
-Several missing interior trim pieces
-ECU hangs down by its wires. Normally wedged up above, but sometimes falls down on the dead pedal while driving
-steering wheel is ~10* left
-Carpet falling apart
-Heater/AC lighting only works intermittently
-Bolts/screws periodically dissappear
-no radio antenna
-light doesn't turn on when door opens
-turn signal doesn't turn off when wheel is returned to center
-horn not hooked up
-trunk can't be opened with key
-trunk doesn't pop up or hold itself up
-driver's seat stabs driver in the leg
-driver's seatbelt not bolted in (however, there is a FIA legal 4pt harness)
-certain roads are undrivable, as parts will shake off of car!
-155HP 4cyl with crappy mileage!
-paint is oxydized and degraded
-headlights are yellow
-open diff
-no ABS, TCS, ASC

Of course, there are pros, too
-Light
-5spd
-good torque
-RWD
-Handles insanely well
-slides like very few other cars
-It's a freakin' 240SX
-it was in a Japanese car magazine

And, most importantly, it's a work in progress. Unlike the true competitors here, my car is on its way to being better than it's ever been.

Still, this made me realize how much crap I deal with just to drive a "race car"

It funny how mad it sounds that people can want to be in a crap car club, but it's worked. Also nice touch in the first post with the links to the posts for the cars descriptions.

Takumi Fujiwara: I don't know why you think that that car isn't crappy enough. We voted on it and it was unanimous, 5-0-0. You're in big time! I noticed you never said what year your car is, you just said it's a 240SX of some type.

Well, the wave of new members seems to be dying down, I am soon going to post a poll of which car is the crappiest, you can vote on which one is the biggest piece of s**t.

Haha, I guess it is a POS.

It's even worse now! My corner light dissappeared while I was driving around!

Did I also mention that my turn signals are taped onto the bumper?

Also, it's common for the battery cables to work loose and stop the car from starting.

By the way, it's a '95, take a look at my sig.

My car: 1987 Vauxhall Astra Estate L (an estate is a wagon lol)

Cons:
  • 167,000 Miles
  • Exhaust funnels into the main compartment (where people sit :P) whenever you either have the windows open, ventilation closed, or ventillation open :P (using a combination of those, u can adjust the speed at which u intoxicate yourself)...
  • Leaking petrol tank. (can smell petrol from about 2m away)
  • Driver door mirror cracked and unable to adjust ever since some **** head volvo owner drove past me too closely and smashed it.
  • Tape player doesnt really play.
  • Rust EVERYWHERE
  • Immobiliser sometimes turns itself on for no reason, and you can't disengage it.
  • Pipe from engine to radiator, broken, leaking.
  • Will not start if too hot.
  • Battery dies every few weeks, sometimes the day after you charge it if it feels like it.
  • Water leaks onto the flooring, which has holes in it now from the rust, and the carpet is rotting as a result, causing a foul smell... In fact it took me a few weeks to work out that the smell which was a little stronger than normal was actually coming from a rotting apple under my seat, and not the carpets :P
  • Motorway driving is impossible since the noise from engine/wheels/everything is unbearable at over 60mph
  • There is NO response from the steering at over 70mph, i can happily move the wheel left and right by maybe two hand widths and nothing happens...
  • The fuel guage stopped working 10 years ago.
  • The rear winscreen wiper + washer stopped about the same time too.
Pros
  • Once it starts it wont fail you (unless its the summer).
  • Light chassis with surprisingly good feel (under 40mph).
  • You can redline all the gears and still be within speed limits :P
  • It has fuzzy dice.
  • It has brakes.
  • 0-20mph can keep up with most cars on the road
  • I have taken this car to 110mph (i will have the utmost respect for anyone who does it again)
  • I learned how to double clutch, heel-toe, and FF drift in this car :P
  • Oh yeah, and i learned how to drive in it too :D

Pics were on my website in my sig, but my website seems down at the mo. Why would u want to see a pic anyway? :S

This thread is great btw, reading about some people's crappy cars is hilarious

thats great thanks

http://www.doc.ic.ac.uk/~pk701/nfs/astra/

taken just after i resprayed it... well i should say "after i sprayed it" since its not like i removed the old paint haha. just bought 10 cans of spray and covered it...

it was necessary to fix another "con" in that all the panels used to be different shades of red :sly:

ok, here's mine crap....its a Rover 214si 1991 built....180000kms
Pros:
Really funny engine...93hp out from 1400cc's
Luxurius interior, regarding the cost of the car
Electric sunroof standar and still working!
good mpg

Cons:
It rattles like snake at the trunk
Changed engince, since the first one cracked on the body and the head
Changed gearbox 3 times!!! (i'm not a lousy driver though, my Alfa goes perfect)
The trunk opens by itself if the car bumps on the road
Changed ECU
I finally put in a moded '94 Honda VTi 1600cc 180Hp engine and now it spreads terror on the road...and myself too!
When i steer, i see Jesus calling me!

This is a tough one -- he has a modified engine (which should be in the "pro" section :grumpy: ). What exactly do you mean by:

When i steer, i see Jesus calling me!

When you changed the ECU, was it for performance?

He thinks he is going to die...

This is just a quick question, are there MOTs in USA/Canada or any annual vehicle test?

 You and Takumi Fujiwara should race or umm... drift. Anyway, (no offense Nightmage82) 86 screw Events answer this guy doesn't need it to get in.

Nightmage82, I'd seriously recommend at least doing something about "fumes getting in to the car" it's not good, I have an exhaust leak but I think I've fixed it for the most part. As for the rest of the ones I highlighted red...

Leaking petrol tank... I'm assuming this is the gas tank, in any rate uh... last time I saw the BMW - Ticker film (hope you know what I'm talking about... Z4 vs. a hellicopter w/ a retard that couldn't hit a wall to save his life so the chopper ran into a wall instead  )

Getting up to 110mph... That's pretty damn good, the fastest I've ever "tried to go" was about 95 (I think??) I haven't done it since because I'm not sure if my rubberband could take it and if that doesn't break my car disconceringly starts to rattle.

:D:tup:

He thinks he is going to die...

Thank you. :)
What I wanted to know was specifically what was wrong with the steering.

This is just a quick question, are there MOTs in USA/Canada or any annual vehicle test?

Yes, in the US it's called an "inspection". By the way, when you say MOT, I think Motorola (as that is their stock symbol :sly: ), not "Ministry of Transport." :D

Nightmage82: You are in. That is one of the crappiest cars here!

Gloup: I am communicating with the judges via PM. You will have the results within 36 hours.

I am going to post a poll in the not-to-distant future.

The fumes, yeah, to be honest if i have one particular vent open and all the windows shut, its not too bad, in fact i dont think u can smell it at all. But in the summer if u open any window, u have fumes, and if u open more than that one vent you also have fumes (in any season). Aparantly the exhaust manifold was giving problems and i had that fixed, which was meant to fix the fumes. But it clearly hasn't... Thats probably the worst thing about the car, cause after 40mins+ driving, you feel positively sick. I want to 'upgrade' to another car thats maybe a decade younger, but I still want a crap car for my daily driver...

I think a major PRO that i forgot is that with crappy cars you can leave them anywhere, and not worry about them. I frequently leave this car unlocked and nothing gets stolen from inside, and no one takes it. In fact i think some kids tried to break into it once, but they couldn't start it cause u need to use the right clutch+gear+gas pedal combination to start the crank going round :sly: which they clearly didnt know about ;)

As for the petrol tank, i can't say i've seen that Z4 helicopter thing :sssss But i do think if u put a cigarette on the petrol cap (or within a few cm of it) the whole car would go up in flames... Though that worries me less than the fumes in my face.

Nightmage82: You are in. That is one of the crappiest cars here!
lol thanks... how about we start a fund to buy me a better one? haha actually i have enough money to buy one :S but i just can't be bothered i guess... I guess its cause i hardly use it. Its not my 'daily driver' since i dont have to drive every day anymore (though i did for all of last summer). But when i have to drive somewhere i need to take this POS.

I hella enjoy parking ultra close to cars worth $100,000+ and scaring the people into thinking i scratched them on the way in/opening doors. I've never actually damaged another car ever in my driving career :P

OMG long post, sorry, just woke up and bored lol
