I'd say no to you because I can go down your list and use words like "yes", "got that and that", "well damn at least you have a V6" :odd: but you'll have to wait for the others... Kind curious how you managed to get over 200,000 on it though...

1978 Volvo 264GLE

Pros:
-2.7L V6
-Easy to spin the back tires
-Easy to kick out the back tires
-Factory speakers (in the rear) are easy to get to
-Sunroof
-Free (birthday present)
-Soft, comfortable seats
-Uniquie
-Full-size spare tire
-Roomy
-Power windows and mirrors
-Small fuzzy dice with Mario mushrooms
-Green vanilla air fresener with green mushroom and "1up" on it

Cons:
-Engine is expensive to fix
-Hard to find parts for
-Mild rusting
-Parts are falling off (windshield wiper, tailpipe (rusted through)
-Takes 2 tries to get it started
-Low fuel economy
-Back seats are old and torn (though still clean)
-Smells like gasoline (probably from my gas can in the trunk)
-Fans for the heater only work when turned off (spins slow, squeals loudly, 0=on, 1, 2, 3=off)
-Rear speakers too quiet to hear from the front (replaced with a speaker box behind the front-right seat)
-Front door speakers old and cracked/ripped
-Sometimes doesn't start at all (gotta use starting fluid to get it goin')
-No performance parts
-Fan belt sqeaks loudly on start-up sometimes (though reving up usually stops this, it's really bad pulling out of the high school parking lots with it doing that)
-Doors are too hard for most of my friends to open without struggling
-Takes forever to defrost the windows
-Sometimes makes strange ghost and UFO sounds (from the heater fans that don't work, maybe?)
-Old paint and rust would cost more than the car is worth to fix
-24 volt battery (WTF?!)
-Front breaks sqeek (though I just replaced the pads, and they stopped doing it for a while, it's really loud now, and only happens at low speeds)
-Gas guage takes a few minutes to get up (And isn't all that accurate, going from 1/10th tank to 1/4 tank)
-Stock AM/FM radio from '78s doesn't pick-up stations very well, is usually fuzzy, and cuts out sometimes
-Back power windows don't go down (this just happened a few weeks ago)
-Idles at 2500RPMs and higher while in park and neutral
-At one point, someone shoot the windows out of my Volvo and my Dad's Volvo ('66 160), but they've been replaced

I detailed my car today (I was supposed to get my amp installed, but the guy is sick, so I had to do the speakers with no amp), and took a picture or two. I'll post it later.

let's see here, i've got two applicants.

#1 1991 Eagle Talon AWD Turbo, it's an interesting car let's start the list

Pro's: It has a turbo
It's a stick
It's AWD
hmm... not really sure what else

Con's: there is a ~fist sized hole of rust at the bottom of the door sill on each side
the exhaust is broken up by the turbo, so it leaks
it's loud, very loud
the shifter grinds into 1st, yes 1st...
if you try to rev it over 5500-6000 rpm the engine trys to blow itself up
it's lowered(god i will never own another ****ing lowered car in my life damnit!)
the rear crossmember(thingy the suspension and wheels are attached to) is attached to the frame at 4 points, 2 of them are completely rusted through, and the others are almost completely rusted through, there is a loud clunk from the rear end when you let off the gas
it looses a lot of coolant, not sure where it's going
the front tires are dry rotted
and probally other stuff i'm forgetting

#2 1988 Mazda RX-7 Cabriolet

Pros: It's a 5 speed
it is a cabriolet
it's fun to drive and very interesting in the rain
it's RWD
the heater is amazing
the engine runs

Cons: while it's a 5 speed, it was the only year and only model ever to get the 3.90 rear end(other models only got the 3.90 with automatics, manuals had 4.10)
it has no head room, with the top up i can't fit 2 fingers between my head and the top and the seat is all the way back
it's a cabriolet with an 18 year old top, it's got some rips and tears
the electrical system, OMG, stuff will randomly stop working and start working again, for example, the windows, they stopped working for about a week, then i had a friend in the car he hit the switch and they worked again, just like that. also the headlights, i must pull the 30A supply fuse for the headlights because reguardless of the position of the headlight switch, the highbeams are always on if the fuse is in.
oh yes, and the interior, there is a large trim piece that goes around the radio and AC/heat controls and vents in the center stack. i went to take off from a light one day and it litterally fell apart into 7 different pieces. there are various other interior pieces that are broken aswell.
oh yeah, and a cat decided to relieve himself in my car one day so there is that lovely smell, took me 2 weeks to find it, i cleaned it the best i could but it still smells.
oh yeah, being in Florida, the A/C doesn't work...
and for a while i had the smell of fuel under my hood, it was interesting cause it would go away after a long drive, but i did finally get it fixed.

anyway, do any of my entries qualify???

EDIT: Some bad/good news, the talon is no longer mine, i've pawned it off on someone else. why you ask? well i was comming home and about 30 miles from home i went to hit the brakes and guess what, only the brakes on one wheel worked, that's right i had one lousy brake caliper to stop a freaking 3000+ lb car. needless to say i went for the E-brake, and i promptly found out that it wasn't in good condition because just as i felt it start to slow the car i heard the distinct sound of a cable or two snapping and the car was no longer slowing down. all i can say is tank god for downshifting. i parked it and put it up for sale. by the time someone came to look at it the brakes had started working again and they bought the car. about 3 days after i sold it i got a call, it was the new owner menitioning the brakes went out on him...

oh yes, forgot a Con for the Mazda, it's a 1.3L and i can barely get 18 mpg out of it... usually it hovers in the mid 16's, and for a 1.3L that sucks

http://freq.auriplane.net/files/pictures/IMAG0011.JPG <--Inga (my Volvo) makes pretty ice art :D
http://freq.auriplane.net/files/pictures/IMAG0012.JPG <--It sucks waking up at 5:30 to get to school 90 minutes early. Especially when you can't park under anything.
http://freq.auriplane.net/files/pictures/IMAG0013.JPG <--All doors open, trunk, hood, windows that operate, and sunroof. For the first time in a while, it didn't smell like gasoline and wasn't covered in Japanese fashion magazines, D&D books, LoTR VHS (70s animated version), etc. :P
Oh, and if you look carefully, there's a yellow Geo Storm (STI or something), then a few spaces over, there's a black Ford Escort GT with an exaust pipe big enough to hide a baby in. :X Damn thing wakes me up every night.

Green_Streak
is this thread dead???

Here at the Planet, GTPlanet, no thread is ever dead. You will never see a dead thread. And so on ...

And I have an update *hangs head in shame*. I have a new car. I am now the proud owner of a 2003 Honda Civic EX Sedan (manual transmission!) with 35,000 miles. The damn thing still has original warrenty coverage! It's like it's brand new!

I do still have the `93 Accord. And I plan to drive it, but currently the fiance is driving the `93 and I'm driving the `03. So don't take me out of the list - just give me some foot note that says I'm a poser.

I don't know if I qualify, but here's my C3 entry:

1991 Toyota Celica

Pros:
- Nice engine sound
- Well-built
- Great club car
- Nice to drive on either bitumen or dirt
- No sound system (but with this baby's engine noise, who needs music?)
- Originally owned by my grease-monkey uncle

Cons:
- 240,000 km on the clock
- My cousin (last owner) didn't wash it for about six years
- Passenger door leaks
- Had to replace clutch after six months
- Windscreen sprayers don't work
- Requires double de-clutching (tap throttle when in neutral between shifts) to keep revs up
- Tendency to understeer in club events

I say no because it doesn't seem that bad? I hate to see what my car will be like at 200,000+ on it?! :scared:

Well, I'm car-less for a week because I got it serviced today: it needs a new clutch, muffler and two cylinders are almost gone and the ignition is slightly faulty (I never noticed it, they did).

Plus, it has some 1980s pop-up headlights that are pretty darn ugly.

Hey don't knock them lights! They are unique from this cookie cutter crap. :grumpy:

I give him a thumbs up. Any car that leaks is pretty bad.

It's a dodgy seal in the window - water gets into the actual door via the window seal, trickles down through the door itself and leaks out when you open the door.

Fortunately, Australia is halfway through a major drought, so it hasn't been much of a problem.

Aw, man. I'm sorry guys. It's tough organizing entries and updating things, especially with GT4 being out. I will review the members and decide your fates now. Sorry 'bout the wait.

After seeing the "commercial" floating around out there for the Aries, You're automatically in. That really sucks.

[offtopic]Oh, I see you're in Wheaton. I live in Batavia. 👍[/offtopic]
:odd: and you're only 9 days younger than me...

Ok erm here's my entry:

2002 MG ZS 120+

Pros:
- Fairly Cheap
- Has a good engine note, with one fo those weird golf ball style exhausts.
- Stiffened chasis, stiffened suspension with double wishbone front and multi link rear, roll bars all round.
- A good drivers car, sticks to the road like glue and loves corners.
- Practically, plenty of room for 5 adults and as a hatchback ideal for transporting stuff around.
- Enough mod cons to make things comfortable, not too many to confuse me with too many buttons.
- It's Brittish, and the last remaing British Mass car manufacturer.
- Small children like the way it looks, and always says "Nice car Mister" :P
- 0-60 in 9 is ok for driving round town, 125mph tops is good enough for motorway driving and still returns 35-38mpg.

Cons:
- It hasn't been without problems, nothing majoy but enough silly little things to get annoying.
- Everyone takes the pi55 out of it being a rover :(
- Stiffened suspension, chasis make it a rough ride on poor road surfaces.
- Use of cheap alluminium heatshields means it can rattle at certain revs.
- Getting it in reverse is a Zen art.
- Clutch pedal is located somewhere between my chest and my chin.
- It's depreciated like a brick.
- Based on the rover 400, it can look a bit dated inside.
- K series engine has been known to blow Head Gaskets
- At the ideal seating position for my driving i can't see the speedo, if i sit where i can see the speedo the steering wheel is too far away.
- Brakes have bad play, they work well when you press them hard but you have to push your foot 3 miles forward to make them work.

Pics of it for anyone interested:
