What games are you playing now?

4K too apparently (I can never tell the difference between 4K and 1080).

But for a game that's nearly 10 years old it looks pretty good apart from some of the character models. Would definitely recommend when on sale.
Gold Edition of Syndicate is in the latest PS Store Sale for under £20 so I'll grab it now.

My backlog is starting to pile up again. So much for not buying any more games until I've cleared it a bit.

It's certainly worth it for that price.

Gaming forums are not so good for not adding to the backlog, neither is Steam, I never had a backlog until I bought a Steam Deck, there is always a sale on!

.........

I'm still playing EA WRC, done 2 seasons in carrer and a standalone WRC championship, making my own custom championship with Group B cars now.
The game has so much content and the stage lengths are incredible.
Screen tearing is still only my complain but it is quite bad on some rallies so it's a big complaint.

I'm aware of the dangers of the Deck, have resisted so far - though I was looking at the OLED one earlier. Still debating that or Switch 2, so I'm safe for now.

Sounds like your backlog is big enough so I would advise against a Steam Deck 😅

Switch 2 could also be as bad as it's backwards compatible so plenty of cheap games to add to the backlog.

The way I see it, if you already had a Steam backlog the Deck is very useful in reducing it because a) it isn't powerful enough for the newest games so you pretty much have to play older ones and b) it's better for the sorts of smaller games that people buy and then forget to play because they get distracted by newer, shinier games.

Problem is there are A LOT of games that do run on it so if you're like me, you'll cross a bunch of games off your backlog then go and buy some more. So I mean, there's been a of movement on my backlog, but not all of it is forwards. Whereas before I was buying games but just playing the same ten big ones over and over because I didn't want to play, say, Bastion or Celeste on my £2,500 PC that I built to play VR games and others at 1440p 144Hz, it just felt too wasteful.

But yeah if you don't already have a PC, stay away, it's a money pit.

Yeah I can see why you wouldn't want to play an indie game on a high spec PC, feels like a waste really.

I haven't had a PC in over a decade and got the Steam Deck primarily for emulation but then I discovered the steam store and that was my downfall.

I cannot pass up say GTA4 complete edition for £4 when it's on sale just as an example, the thing is all the little cost of each game adds up quickly and the backlog grows.

Such a great machine though, I regret nothing :)

Currently playing Avowed as my steam is refusing to start on pc, something about webhelper but everything I tried bar reseting my pc isnt working and I dont feel like doing another reboot this soon. So yeah no steam games atm.
So I cant buy either TXR2025 or AC Evo sadly. Even tho I want to play both.
