Aside from the canned animations it doesn't look any better than GT3 or PGR2. I'm sure it will also remain a very arcade oriented game.

The cool thing about PGR is the car selection. The two you listed aren't available in any other game that I'm aware of.

Wow, that was pretty dissappointing. 👎 Surely, the 360 is capable of more than that.

All I bloody said was that I was glad it stayed arcadey, and that it would more then likely look great. How is my head up MS's arse? I never declared it the "B35T G4m3 EV0R!!!11!". Shhessh.

This is where you try to justify what you said, but fail.

lol this game will rule. It wont be because of graphics. although they will be spectacular. If its anything like pgr2 itll be the most FUN racing game ever. I know people dont like it because its arcadey but its alot more realistic then people think. If you apply racing theory learned in GT or skip barber, you're going to pretty much destroy all challengers. Also alot of people complain about people ramming into you online, I say this is one of the most satisfying parts of the game, people are stupid and its so much fun when you know some a$$hole is going to try to ram you through the next corner, so you just stay on the brakes for an extra second and watch him fly into the wall because you took his pillow away lol. Anyway this game is gonna rock no matter what, this company (bizarre creations) has its **** together. Here is some more info on what to expect. Sorry for the long post I just think that pgr2 never got the recognition it deserved, hopefully pgr3 will.

I was thinking the same thing from other games I've seen. sure they look better than whats out now but first gen games may only look like last years PC games.

So far I am also disappointed with the graphics of the new x-box. I viewed over 7 or 8 different videos on Gametrailers.com and none of them look much better than the original x-box. I am very open minded but the videos I have seen re either crappy videos being posted or the next x-box isnt going to be what we are hoping for when it comes to graphics.
Some of the videos I viewed were at driving game and a Manhunt looking game. (looks like they have been taken off gametrailers.com now :guilty: )
Finally found the names of those 2 games.
1. Full Auto
2. Condemned: Criminal Origins

Well keep in mind that as the demand for higher quality video goes up, the hardware requirements go up exponentially.

Also, I think people fail to realize that, as an example, 1600 x 1200 is not double 800 x 600. It is in fact FOUR TIMES the resolution. You are doubling both dimentions. So to go from the previous resolution of ~640 x 480 for S-Video to 1920 x 1080, you're making one hell of a jump. That's 307,200 pixels on the screen to 2,073,600 pixels on the screen. A whopping 6.75 times the amount of displayed data. And that doesn't include what it takes to process it!

It may take the game developers a while to get caught up with the abilities of the new hardware as well. Suddenly they're developing for some much beefier chips and they have to get into a new mindset.

They wre taken off, wheni went to work at 10:15am they were there but it saud E3 trailer, its next week :). It didnt look any better than the bext looking FPS on Xbox, Riddick. there were lots of videos they took off. But condenmed look (not graphical)boring.

This is another good point (if rather difficult to muddle through the typos). It's not so much how the game looks, but how the game plays. Sitting and looking at an XBox rendering photorealistic paint drying isn't much fun. In fact, I'd assume it's about as much fun as the real thing. "Wow! As good as the real thing!" Still boring.

But if the game is fun the players will forgive the understated visuals. Look at StarCraft. It's been what, eight years since it was released? People still play it A LOT. How about Counter Strike? They made an XBox version years after the PC version was made. Why? Because it's fun! Who cares what it looks like - the game play is good, and the players are captured by the interaction.

Heh, I'm still intruiged by a sentence I think I heard in the MS video. Something about downloading the games. That would totally rock balls.

The LM is in NFS:HP2 and MC3. But for next generation games, it could be.
I like the cockpit views, but yes, the graphics are not much better.

Download the vid and play it full screen, at the start when it's showing a view from inside the car theres some writing going across the screen, it says "Greg Athelon Lamborghini Murcielago". Also around the 7 second mark you can see what might be the Murcielago behind the Sagaris.

Also, I'd love to know how you guys can even try to rate how good/bad the graphics are from that vid, it's done at a stupidly low resolution.

From what I could tell from the vids, the game looks stunning. Can the people saying it looks no better then Gt3 find me a shot matching the saleen above, thanks! Ha.

So yes, it looks fan-bleeding-tastic.

I'm not a fan of the PGR series but this game looks amazing. And I know it will have something no Gran Turismo game has ever had; excellent sounding/realistic engine notes. :)

Wow, that is like comparing PSx and PS2 games.... :banghead:

PGR... So what, even if the graphics are going to be better than pass PGR games... I'm expecting the same ****ty physics. :dopey:

You apparently have your head firmly planted in the anus of Microsoft. Enjoy the view.
👍

I've watched the video and... I was expecting more than that by far. I'm dissapointed.

looks like something the xb could do.

Yes, and killzone 2 looks like something my atari 2600 could do. You sir, have no idea.
Vipfreak, are you one of thses idiots that complains that an arcade style game isn't realistic enough? Seems like it...as long as PGR3 plays well, and chances are it will, I'll be happy.

The first 15 second video looks really sweet. Y'all are being damn picky, considering the game's 6 months away and we've seen 3 screenshots...

I love PGR, yes that's true. PGR2 is probably my favorite game of all time and I love it and still play it. It's not realistic, but it's VERY fun and the cars sound a lot better than GT's.

Now keep in mind I like GT a lot. I'm not a fanboy to either side, but I think that PGR3 will be a very fun game no matter what. BC hasn't let us down in the past when looking for something great and this should be an excellent launch title. I'm very excited.

BTW, this version is also a lot more supercar-oriented. Every car in the game can hit 170mph no matter what... so no S2000, Civic Type R, Mini, etc...
