I'd say the Burnout series are the best arcade racer
OK.

Best Realistic Arcade Racer: PGR Series
Best Fantasy Arcade Racer: Burnout Series

Can't wait for Burnout: Revenge!

I dunno, but I'm glad I got the link while looking for PGR3 info because it was so funny! Great sotries in that thread! ;)

Off-topic yes it was...

hehe, I opened that up again to give the link to a friend and the UPS guy pulled up. I swear! It was so awesome! :D I had to sign though, and it was two packages... and one of them were my tickets to the US Grand Prix! :D

I also got a package from FedEx that I had to sign for... but this was the copy of GTR I had shipped overnight :D. Awesome day to get mail ;)

New cars on the list!
Lamborghini and McLaren officially completes the PGR series line-up.

Also from OXM:

And the last mantra that life begins at 170Mph. No Toyota Corollas, no Honda Civics, not even any Mini Coopers. Project Gotham Racing 3 is all about Ferraris, Lamborghinis, Aston Martins, and many more (Around 80 cars total, in fact). Even unqiue models were tested, recorded, and immaculately modeled down to the very finest.

Every car has its own pre-rendered in car dashboard.
Live TV will also allow us to view the top racers in a head to head battle.

Cool hope the sounds are ingame unlike the ones on one of the official GT4 sites. Dashboards? yay. If they've got lambo they better include the Countach :D

They're in game.

I will continue to keep updating this with information I find.

I hope. And don't forget the Diablo!

I mean, the Murcielago and Gallardo making an appearence in games lately is awesome, but we can't forget the older models.

And include the Muira!
And 1 last thing. MORE DOWNLOADABLE CONTENT!!!

I'm sorry, but I can't contain my want for this game.

There's no way these are Xbox graphics. Look at this shot of the buildings.

No way that=xbox 1

That looks like a real picture, let alone CGI. Are you sure its from the Xbox?

That IS real, not even the XB360 or PS3 could pull that off.

Well, in defense of game systems and CGI, it IS possible, just rather difficult.

It's a CGI technique called "photogrammetry", also known as "image modeling".

Basically, you take photographs of the environment, from all different angles, then you create a low-poly digital replica of that environment. In this case, a building, along with the signs and so-forth. Very low-poly, remember. Then the model is textured with the actual photographs taken on location.

The upside is that you end up with a fairly low-poly model that looks absolutely real. The downside is that it takes a while to get all the textures to match up properly, and full photographs like that take up rather large amounts of memory compared to hand-painted Photoshop textures like we see in most games.

It's a technique used quite often in Hollywood, but I don't think it's ever really been done in a game before (the closest being some of GT4's backdrops, like Yosimite and the Grand Canyon).

How often this technique will be used in games is anybody's guess. However, I think racing games are one of the more likely cantidates, because the environments are pretty limited in overall scale compared to other types of games.

Damn, man... that McLaren F1 is sick (Page 4, Post #78; McLaren F1 GTR)! Last time I raced a McLaren F1 in a game- "Need for Speed: High Stakes." If that bad boy was cool taking around the tracks in that game, imagine the fun in this game. I've seen videos of PGR3 from the G4 TV/IGNore.com coverage. I usually call ign.com "IGNore.com," but it's hard to ignore something like this. You already know the XBOX Live support will likely make up for 80% of the fun you enjoy in this game. I'm sure even "VelocityGirl" would even enjoy taking you on in PGR3, perhaps for cash. I guess I think a little too much on cash prizes being awarded in PGR3 competitions, with up to a $1,000,000 USD payoff. I think this game's appeal will be pretty big for three reasons, (1) what you love about the PGR series, (2) multiplayer, and if it holds true... (3) money, money, money, money... MONEY!

Regardless, I like what I see. Haven't heard any sounds yet, so I will not comment. Like I said, I may be looking forward to the next GT, but I'm a believer of the PGR series. The moment it's offered as a demo, I want to check it out for myself in much the same way I wanted to play test Forza Motorsport everytime I'm at a Wal-Mart store in the XBOX section.

If you haven't heard the sounds yet, don't forget to check the 1st post.
Honestly, I think there are still some bugs in the sounds.
The Vipers shift changes are bit too long. And a few have told me the Skyline's Turbo isn't dead on, but its good.

The turbo is dead-on for the Skyline because that's a real Skyline. Those aren't in-game sounds but are actual sounds recorded from sound sessions by BC. You can easily tell that the Skyline is on a dyno, you can even hear it spinning in the last second or so.

I have no idea why the F355 sounds nothing like an F355 though.

And BTW that pic of NYC is in-game.
