OMG... Check out the absolutely horrid texture work:

I think the textures on the GTS are the same ones from gt2.

Haven't posted in a while. Have been away. Did you all miss me? Probably not, but anyhoo here's what yall've been waitin for, my

Final Entry

Enjoy!?!

EDIT: Made minor changes to size and contrast and brightness.

Wow! Some fantastic stuff here!

This is going to be tough a tough choice in the final voting.
My initial thoughts are for Turk and his out of the box thinking of the VW logo. 👍

I also like //./.'/'s collection of shots (the depth of field on the Special is slick),
and then there's the lighting on Brock5000's shot (very very nice).

FINAL ENTRY

This kind of shot is very nice, but it does oh so much better in person because of the, er, higher resolution, as well as more camera freedom. Like so.

Hey speedy_samurai, you might want to clarify the "badge" idea a little.

This is just my opinion (and we all know about opinions, especially mine  ). When I think of a car's "badge" I don't think of the license plate on the front or back of the car with the car's name on it. I also don't think of the painted on graphics as being the car's "badge". So, my question is this, are you looking for the car's make or model in the picture whether or not it's the actual "badge" or nameplate that the factory installs? You know, that little emblem that's on the front, back or side of EVERY car that's made. In other words, just get a picture with the car's make or model showing in the picture no matter how it's shown?

Like I said, it's just my opinion. Don't flame me just because I mentioned it. Just thought that if we're supposed to do "badges" then let's do badges and not license plates and/or graphics.

@Swissbear

Read this from the first post:-

Every car has identifying markers/emblems. I want the shots to show me these markers. I want the shot set up so that, by looking at the pic, we can tell who the manufacturer is. If the pic is of the model name or the manufacturer logo, either is fine.

It doesn't say it has to be a pic of the badge. I hope it doesn't have to be a badge as this rules my entry out. :nervous:

PS: How do I quote a specific person with "Originally posted by ......" tags?

At the bottom right corner of every post there is a reply button, press that and you will get that post quoted.

This week’s competition theme is "The Badge" as chosen by week 23 winner speedy_samurai.

Further explanation of theme:
Cars:
-No Race Cars
Track:
-Any Circuit

Every car has identifying markers/emblems. I want the shots to show me these markers. I want the shot set up so that, by looking at the pic, we can tell who the manufacturer is. If the pic is of the model name or the manufacturer logo, either is fine

Thanks, but I read the rules.

There are several photos enterted that the only thing that is visible are the license plates with the make/model of the car. Again, just my opinion but, I don't think that constitutes a "marker/emblem". So, again, when all three desrciptions are taken into account.... markers, emblems and badges..... they all kinda point to the same thing...... The little emblems put on by the manufacturer to identify their car name and/or model and not the license plates or the vinyl decal or painted on make/model. Maybe I'm slpitting hairs here but I thought the question was worth asking.

I think you're splitting hairs. The license plates in question identify the car, no? So what's the problem then?

Although, I still think it's a little ambiguous. I mean, how big and emphasized should these identifying logos be? You could take a picture, and they might be 6 pixels big, hence illegible, yet still present, and I could still tell the make & model of the car just because I know what it is...

P.S.

use "quote=username" for your opening quote tag.

I decided to change my final entry. I have never done this before, but I was playing arond and liked this pic WAY more.

FINAL ENTRY

Hey guys, managed to find an internet cafe in my holiday vacation town.

For clarification:
I want the manufacturer emblem or the model name logo.
License plates will not be allowed
nor will any identifiers that are not on the car.

If you look at Brocks entry it is exactly the type I have in mind. Also the shot of the Nissan Z. It seems most people havent had any problems posting the type of pictures I want to see. There are many great shots!

every car has a manufacturer emblem and a model name stuck on the car as it rolls off the assembly line.

Just to clarify, "any circuit"...does that include photo travel locations? I know it doesn't specifically say so, but it doesn't specifically say no, either. And there's at least one entry in photo travel and nobody's raised an objection, so if it's legal I'd love to use it since I have some pretty good shots from there. Please respond :)

yeah ... Brock5000's SLR does look great
I think he will get picked since that's what exactly speedy_samurai looking for
