And I think replicas also kinda force you to get better at liveries and decals because there are no workarounds.
I think people who have the talent and the time will make the effort to be better anyway, irrespective of what they're making. There's enough 'replicas' that are frankly complete **** on the showcase to demonstrate that a lot of people's workaround is just to halfarse stuff.

I wanted to take advantage of not having to do a racecar, but then struggled with an idea. In the end I went with something over the top, but that also might have been seen tearing up the autobahn back in the late 80's. I did several color combinations and tried just about all of the wheels (the 959 really doesn't look good with most of the wheel options), but decided basic black and white was the best looking.

Hi there! That's my first participation in a livery contest!

Ths one was made when i decided to start making more complex liveries. It's inspired on Brabham BT52, the car that gave Nelson Piquet his second F1 world title in 1983.

I love to create GT3 and GT4 versions of F1 cars liveries. The BMW M6 GT3 endurance model is a beautiful car and there's a pretty close relation between Brabham, Nelson and the BMW brand, so i think that was a perfect choice.

The most challenging job here was designing the continuous blue line that starts on the hood and goes through the entire car until meeting itself coming from the other side of the body. Like the original car, it's only one line. Very difficult to match.

Also, i tried to use all the decals, sponsors and features that are present in the original livery, but revisiting them in a similar way that fits better on the GT3 car, adding some references to Brabham Team in the end, which is one of my fav f1 teams.

It's one of my favourites between all the liveries i ever made and i really hope you like my first participation!

Bonus images below.

Awesome - and welcome to the show!

Welcome my friend! Hopefully these comps are fun and we’ll see you as a regular, always good to have new people onboard :D

I had a stalker in GT Sport who copied a lot of my work, and he halfarsed my work. Original or replica or otherwise. He would destroy it. And not in a good way.. even the scape photos I took, he would copy it down to the very caption/description. :ouch: He’s part of the reason why I rarely share my stuff in GT7..

Didn't get the chance to create anything specific for this LEC but I am using my EuroParcs AMG WRC car.

This is part of a larger project I'm doing to create some independent WRC style entry liveries - using some of the hot hatches currently in the game.

Researched a lot of local rally talent who could compete in this fantasy competition and this is my entry for Dutch driver Kevin Abbring with accompanying sponsors.

RWB Stella Artois early version, when the rear bumper was removed. It's difficult to see but the lettering is all gold base, which took a bit of trickery for the bottom half of 'Stella Artois' as the sill doesn't take the base colour. The large 'RWB' at the back has a holographic colourshift effect which also shows best when the car is moving, not really the real car (it's a steel grille) but I liked the effect, also changed the window air intake of the real car to a NACA duct and tubes.

When I went to take photos of the car, my entire library of scapes (over 1,000) has disappeared, including ones I could have used to better show the above as bonus shots

Couple of quick scapes

Oh well, tbh this was a back pocket entry; to echo some of the earlier comments, I enjoy the LEC because it pushes me to try things I wouldn't otherwise, for this one I got overambitious and it will go into the 'to be continued...' pile; it was the same for the Super Taikyu, but I didn't have a fallback for that one. But I'm happy that I learned new stuff in the making, and one day they will be done (looks at pile)...hopefully

Ah darn. Posted half an hour after the deadline. I'll allow it as I wasn't here to edit the thread to say closed. But it would be a good idea to check the deadline either way.

To the rest of y'all. It's officially closed.
I'll get the poll up tomorrow.

UTC was probably 23:30, yeah. But OP says +1 :scared: A simple oversight, don't worry. It'd be silly to disqualify you for that. If it was a whole day after, then the story might've ended differently. And if you wonder why +1? My timezone. Easy as that.
