What a relaxing race, wasn't it ? Well I hope you found it relaxing because the next one is definitely a hundred times tougher :eek:

Great racing this week in all divisions. I guess the TT just wasn't up to the task......(maybe it was the driver?)

WOO HOO!!! Gotta give big thanks to Curtis for suggesting the creative line through the tunnel. It was a 1:00 AM flash of brilliance that netted me that time. Time up to that point was a 59.600" but I HAD to go back for one last hurrah. Really appreciate your sportsmanship in sharing instead of hanging on to your possible secret weapon.

Great close racing all, congrats to kart and iceman for a close podium finish. Also to all other podia in the other divs!

Great win in D2 KLR! Early on in the week I was afraid that I'd be hard pressed to beat you.

Also, I'd like to thank simracedriver for double checking my replay and giving me the thumbs up to go for my faster time. I was really sweating it and though _I_ thought it was good, I needed someone without the "speed goggles" to validate it.

If Johnny Cochrain was trying this case, he'd no doubt say, "If there is no dust, the lap is just!".

In all it's been a rewarding win. Finally! Overall win in D1 is HUGE! Now I can say I did it and take it easy and not have to toss so many spent monkeys overboard as I overwork them to their detriment. Now that I can say that I'm capable of an overall win, I'll have to work towards spending less time to get there.

Finally, Cyril! Great race again. Can't emphasize that enough. I know I'm gushing but it's uncanny how evenly matched the three cars were. To tell you the truth if you had mandated the R32 only I'm pretty sure that I wouldn't have won. Sure it's not the quickest to T1 but I believe that its pace from there to the end is better than the rest. I'm just glad that this was a GT mode race where I could tailor the car's setup to match my driving style. I'm glad I stuck with it to the end.

Now, on to next week. NOS is a nice twist, but the time it's gonna take to finish the race over and over until you get a fast time may become a bit wearing... We'll see.

Anyway, please find attached my replay. Boy am I glad that the tires are 245s and not 235s because that's all there was left on the edge of the curb!

Looking at those times for us in Div 3 (GTrackd02 & rotbarsch1979), looks like it could have gone either way! Now that is what I call CLOSE RACING!

thats a difference in how i race nowadays, i use to do those extra little things to get the most out of the corner. but now its realism for me

4th for me. Not bad for only 1 day's work. Very close time there guys. I guess everybody was after that victory.

Thanks Curtis... I'm as shocked as many others are about it. I know I left a few hundredths up to T2 on that particular lap (had a second sector time 0.1 faster during the week) and with the leaderboard splits so close I had no idea that I could come from that far behind. I'm glad that I was up late with my long-armed friends and saw your post. I have no idea whether or not I could've gotten that 22.696" (maybe, just maybe...) last segment without riding the sidewalk, but that's by FAR the fastest I had all week through there. For comparison, the fastest otherwise saved final segment for me was 22.830" so I went 0.134" faster through there than EVER before. I guess shortcutting to the extreme that intermediate corner would account for the extra 5 mph or more that I was able to carry through to the sweeper. Still only finished at 150 so I didn't really carry more through the final corner.

To tell you the truth, I don't really see the sidewalk ride as unrealistic though. My corner straighening OTOH...

For comparison, the final segment times were:

kart: 22.769" (still damn fast! I can't wait to see that replay if it's NTSC)
iceman 22.942
hOt 23.023"

BTW, my 22.830" was gotten without the sidewalk...

I still think there's a few tenths left out there espcially in the Golf. You guys picked the wrong cars this week!

Anyway, feels good. Now I can say I did it. Two new winners in two weeks! Will it continue? We'll see...

my lap is in here, but for the dedicated viewer, you will have to go to lap 13 of this replay coz i had a quicker time in this session but it was dirty so the clean lap was a few laps into the session so you have to just bear with me on this one...

HB in RL if a line like the one in the tunnel exists it would probably be used in a touring car race or Aus V8 race.

I never used it coz I thought it was slower, but anyway. Who else used that line out of the tunnel?

Not me,

I found myself being dragged into the wall by the the suspension, and the wheel.

I tried it a few times but gave up, cos it was scrapping fast laps by touching the wall.

Mind you, I didn't cut the right after it either, at least not by as much as some anyway.

Damnit, I had a HUGE reply written up, with a couple of pictures and stuff too, but I was waiting to upload my replay before I posted it... So, I was just doing other stuff on the computer, and then my browser froze! ARGH!

So, long story short, multiple thanks to you guys, some great racing on your sides as well! Specially you mister Shiggy Scott...

I had a tribute to the Golf when I used it for a few laps, had some AWESOME wheels on it, but I didn't save the link to the imageshack link, and I already deleted the picture, so it's GONE. *sad*

Didn't realize that using the pavement in the tunnel was "fully legal". :rolleyes:

I tried in all my laps to avoid the pavement edge. :embarrassed:

sorry i wasnt a part of this week, never had much chance in really sitting down and giving it some serious time, which is what is required to win a week in such a great competition like this! i'll be back in week36 though as seuol is a fairly impressive track.

I love the dark slate color, and then a carbon fiber hood, wing, splitters, and then the dark wheels. LOVE that look. Tint required as well of course. Someday I'll have some cars that follow that design... 👍
