Revolution Studios :: Merc SL65 Part Two!

Hey, great shots in here Rev. The around the corner blur of the Skyline looks great!👍 Now I know you are probably wonder why in the world your Merc braking shot did'nt make it into the week 25 poll, and I am sure several other people are too. And now that I see how the votes are going, I think I probably should have put yours in, but it just did'nt stand out to me when I was comparing them all together. The blur looks nice with how it curves around the car, and the brake rotors are nice and red, but the shot just did'nt have any pizaz I was looking for. (not a real word I don't think, but something I often hear) The blur seemed kind of muddy to me. If your streaks were a little more crisp it probably would have stood out a little more for me. And I hate to critique your shot when I know you probably spent a lot of time on it and was probably looking forward to seeing it in the poll. I really did spend quite a bit of time trying to place the photos I thought were the best for the poll. And maybe my judgement was'nt the best, but I was expecting more from you.

Now, if that 3rd Merc shot had glowing brake discs, that would have definetely made it into the poll because I think that shot looks absolutely fantastic. That car really looks mean and fast, and it has great contrast and is extremely clean.

And I don't know if you wanna do this or not, but I would really like a write up, tutorial style, step by step using your image on how you did that around the corner blur of that Skyline. I tried to make one a few weeks back when franz did that M5, but it did not turn out good at all. And franz might have a tutorial already, but I have not checked. Oh, and to make that Skyline shot look even better, since you have those bling blings on it, you should try my multi wheel shot technique and cut and paste them in. Because the wheels lost all of their bling when you radial blurred them, but it still looks great.

Later Revo:)

That Nissan looks great. Great bluring.
The only thing is that the area behind the rear wheel is a bit choppy.

Still awesome, though.

appie17 - Thanks :)
freddy86 - The blur is a bit over the top, I guess, and it was my first try with this technique, so it was never gonna be perfect.
Rohrl-fan - Thank you.
LGForce - I'm glad you like them!:dopey:
Dick Steel - Thank you. I'm happy with the way they turned out.
Duċk - Yeah, a bit too much blur, but its all in fun :P
MKThreeGTI - Thanks, it does have nice lines, doesn't it? :)
440 Charger - Thanks for stopping by. About the SLR, thanks for the explanation. I guess the blur was a bit muddy, but thats really more down to PD and their shoddy texture work. I'm glad you like the third shot, it was one of my favourites too. About a tutorial, I'll see what I can come up with, stay tuned......
Vonie - Thanks, mate
Krame - I'm glad you like it :P

Zubicar - Thanks! I'm glad you like the pics.

This update was shot for this week of the GT4 Photomode 2.0 Advanced. Now, I can't pick a final entry, so I'd like some feedback on which of the seven pics you think I should pick. I'm leaning towards pic #1, but I'd like some feedback, please.

Definitely #1. It just looks better, it's the only pic that really has a color scheme to it. It almost looks like nighttime, actually, but not quite. It's a little fuzzy, but the car looks like it's glowing. I would set it as my wallpaper, but I feel like moving back to real car pictures. I like the last one, too, because it showcases the cars silhouette, which is what the car is really famous for. Bertone really did a great, and crazy, job of designing that car, didn't they?

Krame - Thanks, mate.
sejtur - I'm glad you like it. I was going for a soft-focus, bright colours close up with that one. I like how it glows :P
Dick Steel - Thank you. I'm glad you like 'em.
El Gigante - Thanks :dopey: :)
MKThreeGTI - Thank you again.
keef - Yeah, I like number one alot as well, mostly because of the surreal, dawn/dusk look it has to it, and the soft focus it has. #4 is good as well, because it just is a great looking picture.
Vonie - Thanks, I like the 4th alot as well.

Well, I've narrowed it down to #1 and #4, which pic should I enter? If they were both in a poll, which one would you vote for?

Here's a tiny update - Volkswagen Golf GTI in Sunset Pearl - Also my entry in this week's photoshop competition.

Three or four layers of paintwork, subtle cleaning of textures and lines here and there, and a soft focus for ambience. I think it came out well, how 'bour you guys?
