Great results everyone. Congrats to all podium positions and a special nod of acknowledgement to anyone who got into the 1'20's ... and those who got below, DAYUM! (Casio ;)) I don't know how you did it ... but very, very, very well done 👍

Great racing everyone!
Every racer did a good job but this week I am especially impressed with the top 4 in D1, the top 5 in D2 and the top 3 in D3.
All of those racers managed to break through a second-barrier that was mighty impressive based on their division. 👍

Also, anyone who dropped below 1'22 gets some respect from me as well.

Lots of great racers this week and I'm glad I took the time to get atleast a few laps in just so I could be in the results (even if it makes me look bad). ;)

Good luck next week everyone!

Btw, as always, great respect to cyril for doing what he's doing.

I finally managed to get an internet connection from the hotel : I had the wrong cable yesterday, so I had the PC, the telephone line, but no way to link them :(
Sorry for the delay guys (and gals).

No prob 👍 This was a cool race, pretty happy with my result, don't think I could have improved any more this week. Here's my replay.

Great! Once I get my replay posted, I'll finally get my first offical division win after 34 weeks! Must be a record or something...

Congradulations to everyone who got in a time, those walls were hell!

I'm off to school now very happy, I'll post my replay when I get back 👍

I've never had a division win and I think it'll be a looooooong time before I do ;)

Wow, I knew people would get 1'19 low times, but 1'18?👍

Also, what do the different collors mean?

Awesome fight up top of D1! I hear that Francisco had a winner time but it was JUST dirty! Next time...

Great finish for Casio! You stole my "virtual" D2 win. Next week it'll be for a real position, right?

Oh, and where's Jerome? Too proud to post AGAIN!? Wuss.... :^P

'Till next time,

-SHig

Congrats to everyone 👍 !!!
This race was very tough with all the walls around the track  !!
But I enjoyed it and I'm very happy with my result :) !
Here is my replay:

And please, take a look at the "New drivers, promotions and demotions" thread before your next practice session on Infineon ;)

FatAssBR : The colors mean Gold / Silver / Bronze, and they show how a racer places compared to the average time in his div. I'll try and update the FAQ with this in the week-end.

(My PC keeps on crashing when I'm connected through the on-board modem port, so I won't be much present online for the next two days.)

Goodness!!! I remember people cryptically mentioning aiming for sub-1:20 times, but 1:18?!?!? Fantastic! Can't wait to see some of those replays!

Either way, I'm quite happy with my result, for my first go at this WRS thing? I could get addicted to this...

Got my Max Drive in the post this evening. Thank God. Hope everything is OK now.... Watch me get black-flagged cuz I used the wrong car, or track, or something....:banghead: :banghead:

EDIT: REMOVED REPLAY DATA, AS IT WAS THE WRONG FILE. :dunce:
SEE MY POST ON PAGE 2 FOR THE (HOPEFULLY:nervous:) CORRECT FILE.

Congratulations to all for their times and efforts 👍

Me, I would have been happy enough not to take last spot in Division 3, but it looks like I am no last in Division 2, either :D ;)

Not too bad for my first time @ Seattle and with the DFP.

Oh, and where's Jerome? Too proud to post AGAIN!? Wuss.... :^P
Yeah... *Cough* Some of us are brave enough to post even if it means last-spot-guaranteed *Cough* ;)

j/k

Anyway, I'll post my replay later, as of tradition. And also to show I can race legally even with the DFP.

EDIT: I also voted for the "good, I liked it" option and I wanted to make a quick comment about it. If I had to factor in also the fact that I was trying to learn how to fight the steering wheel, I would have rated it either a "poor, I didn't like it" or an "average". But this would have falsified the rating, as the DFP was not really part of the combo, which I would have liked a lot better if I didn't have to fight walls, wheelspins, rumble strips AND the DFP, all at once. So, a good combo it was, but the fact I was new at the DFP added a little bit to the frustration.

The Wizard.

Congrats to all the podiums! And damn you guys at the top of D-1 and D-2 are flyin!!!!👍

Here's my replay, I had 2 on the card so im gonna guess and hope i got the right one

EDIT: NTSC format

like i always start, 2nd out of 35, that's very good.

this race was awesome, the aliens made me go crazy with this combo.
i learned that if you put too tmuch pressure, its never a good thing. i spent 5 hours on monday trying to clean my lap to have a better lap

couldn't do it:(

i was chasing my best lap, a barely dirty 1'18'523

that would be enough, but since the world is not based on ifs, lets move on. great race, congrats holl, zikwik, casio, and all the other winners and podiuns that i forget the name right now (sorry)

@scott, thanks for the support, i'll get it next time:tup:
i'll post my replay tomorrow when i get to a pc with USB port. (yes, this one is real bad)

also, togheter with the replay, i'll try to find my final settings just for a comparision, i changed a bit monday night.

great race, and i have to say i'm heartbroken by my inability to clean a winning time that i had:(

Well, since everyone is posting their replays I'm gonna post mine too. I'll watch'em all to see the different lines we might take. 👍

Edit: I noticed Zikwik's file isn't .max. Can I transfer it to the MC using ARMAX anyway?

NTSC replay.

@SHig, and whoever else misses me ...fyi I Decided to totally redo my website from the ground up on Sat thru Tuesday so I spent like 2 hours on it, and this week ain't lookin good either with the freakin' AI and another 2 lapper, whats the point? Sorry just venting, IMO it should be 1 lap for at least 5+ 2 is just wasting my time, I'm gonna get ready for a lan party in Seattle this weekend.

Jerome

Nice Results everybody! 👍

I was hoping for a top 5 but not to be!, dont really deserve it anyway with my 2hour effort.

I will upload my replay later (that is if i can find it, stupid maxdrive)

 Damn! talk about your photo finishes. If fasj and Zik were any closer, they would have to get a room. :sly:  (j/k guys)

Nice win Dan. 👍 Nice second Fransisco kid. 👍 Nice 3rd Zik. 👍 Very impressive.

I'm pretty happy with my finish. Kept getting a .3 lead on my ghost coming off the RR tracks only to stupidly lose it in one of the final sectors. Oh well. Maybe next time. :)

Congrats to all the finishers. Beautiful car on a tough track. Couldn't ask for a better race IMO.👍

Welcome to D1 Casio. Well deserved, and a long time coming. Now the wins get double tough! :mischievous:

Edit: Oh yeah. I'll post my replay this weekend when I get home.

@fatassbr: With downloads there are a couple of things to note:

1. PAL or NTSC: You can only view one type , you said you're from Brazil, I suspect you will only be able to view NTSC replays

2. ".max" ".xps" etc. If you have a maxdrive you need the file to be in ".max" format. There is a tool for converting file types but not whether it is PAL or NTSC

Having said that, I believe you won't be able to view Zikwik's replay because he is from France and his replays are in PAL format.

Hope this helps 👍

On a side note it would be convenient for people to include whether their replays are PAL or NTSC. I *think* I can view holzlondon's because he is in UK but I don't always know what location equals what game version?

Gonna try and watch holzlondon and Zikwik's replays now (pretty sure I can't watch GTrack's cos he's NTSC?!?)...............

I agree 👍

It would make it a lot easier for when people/moderators have to check the validity of a particular replay. I know what region most of the people that post replays belong to, but there are quite a few I am not so sure about.

It's definitely a good idea/advice.

I'll be doing it for sure, too, from now on.

The Wizard.

Even if it's just in their sig. as long as it's known somewhere, it would make life easier 👍

Anyway I watched Zikwik's replay....no problemo, nice and fast and clean 👍

I also watched holzlondon's and it is a 1'22.953. It is clean but definitely not the 1'22.844 that is listed in the results?!?

My replay in PAL format. (I hope I did this right :nervous: )
Watch out D1, there is a new kid on the block, and he drives Automatic!

EDIT: Forgot to add, I had the slightest of dirty laps of 1'19.68x where I grazed the wall on the first corner, I was so annoyed, I thought I was never going to get into the 1'19s again.

Just checked yours, and it's prefectly clean! Good job!

Looking at your lap, it's obvious where I'm losing time in auto. High Speed Braking. You could brake, far, far later into that right hander at the end of the back straight then I ever could. Although, it does look kinda wierd to me all the revving on the down shifts.

I do use manual occasionally, I got the unoffical D2 win in the Subaru Rally at Trial Mountain using manual that week. So it's not that I can't use it, I'm just no wear near as confident. Also I guess using Auto, I put pressure on myself to get a better line, be smoother and carry more corner speed so it doesn't change down.

:boggled: :boggled: OOPS!! I must have transferred the wrong file! That was my 2nd best time. I always kept my best two times to be safe, and that's what has happened. I'll repost. Bear with me, only got the Max Drive yesterday.

P.S. You're right, my replays will be PAL.

EDIT: Here's my second attempt at the upload. Is there any way of identifying similar looking files when using the Max Drive software? They all look the same?!?! Someone please inform me if this is the wrong one again.

Damn that combo was tough at first but did get very addicting and fun in the end, keeping in mind we all probably restarted atleast 100 times trying to get that first chicane down!! I finished about where I expected, but did not at all expect 1'18 times!! Congrats to all the finishers of a very tough combo. Further congrats to all the division winners, everyone posted some nice times.

I voted 4/5 for the combo, mainly because the combo didn't totally suit my style of racing. The car had a little too much understeer under acceleration, even the lightest of gas. The tracks was the make or break point of the lap, and the few times I lucked out and nailed it so perfect, I blew it later on. Reverse on this track just has no flow to it either, it's tough to put a great line together, and there are way too many off camber turns, and turns that cause tons of understeer, like the turn into the steps. Overall, it was fun though!

Thanks, man. Too bad I can only watch the NTSC replays.

Alrighty, gonna download your new replay now holzlondon, but I may take a while to get back, gotta watch Lost in a minute :sly:

And Casio I think you're right, dumping gears coming into a corner makes you feel like you can brake a bit later, not sure if it actually has that affect but since I learnt Manual I could never go back, thing is if you convert totally over.....we're all screwed :scared:

Back soon....................................

holzlondon's lap of 1'22.844 is A-Okay 👍 nice and close to a few walls though
