Never Really liked the HSC because the rear doesnt look right but the pics make it look awesome.
Excellent Gimping Pink!!

I love the pics. Only thing is I'm confused with the layers part. Maybe you can post each layer seperately, then show what it looks like combined.

And if you get a chace, check out my gallery. Link is in my signature.

GIMP tutorial 4: Advanced Editting

OK, it's time I'll guide you GIMP guys through another chain of steps of how to edit you pictures to stand out just as much as pictures made with Photoshop 👍

This is the picture we'll be working with in this turorial:

Step 1:

Open up Gimp with the picture and follow the basic steps which we discussed in the previous tutorials. In this picture, I started with adding saturation, contrast & lightning:

Step 2:

We'll begin with searching the picture of things which look awful, the first thing I noticed was this:

Step 3:

What'll we do about this ugly edge? Well, first of all, zoom in on the object to see from close just how edgey this thing is:

Step 4:

Go to Tools -> Paint Tools -> Smudge and select this tool:

Step 5:

Now, don't begin to smudge, you need to setup the smudge tool perfectly to the conditions if you're hoping for a good result, so click on the general Gimp window and select a rate of 10 together with a very small brush:

Step 6:

Now smoothen out the hard edges on the object, do the same on all hard edges you want to get rid of on the car and/or scenery:

Step 7:

After all the hard edges which are gone now, it's time to smooth out the car, so go back to the GIMP window and select a rate of 4 together with a very big brush:

Step 8:

OK, now you really need to be careful what you're doing because if you do it wrong, you're screwed. How to do it? Go in straight lines with the smudge tool and certaintly do not keep the mouse button pressed. Hold the mouse button, go in a straight line and release the button and do this for the whole car:

Step 9:

Now, the car looks much better but we aren't quite done yet, you don't have to follow the next steps but it gives a nice finishing-touch to your picture. To give it this finishing-touch, go to Filters -> Artistic -> Softglow and intstall it in your picture:

Step 10:

Looks quite nice eh? But, we're not finished yet:

Step 11:

The picture is quite big so go to Image -> Scale Image and choose your prefered size:

Step 12:

For this image, I've chosen a size of 600 X 450 pixels:

Step 13:

A very important step is to sharpen after you're resizen the image:

Step 14:

Now we're finished but, the image doesn't look so tidy so follow this image or one of the previous tutorials I made to add a nice border and some text to the image:

And we're done!
