At least he didn't go overboard and get needlessly big, chrome wheels.

Good stuff, Doug. 👍 👍

D*mn! Hey M5, have you talked to the Hotel about becoming a Valet?:sly:

A few people suggested it back in Denver, but it'd be an issue because not only can I not drive manual, I can't drive SMT, or E-gear, or paddle shift, etc. It'd be difficult to learn, too, considering the prices of the vehicles with such transmissions.

Amazing Doug!
I picked out my favourites, can you see a pattern?

Plus rep, and I urge others to do the same.

 You have some sort of British fetish?!

Come on - there's a Superamerica in that bunch - and your one of favorites is the six Conti GTs?!?! :D  Thanks for the rep. 👍

You forgot to mention the 300C SRT-8, although it is somewhat dwarfed by the awesomeness of the other cars in the picture.

Indeed - I actually saw each and every SRT model yesterday, with the exception of the Crossfire SRT-6. Caught two 300Cs (both the same color - but one had gorgeous stock wheels - it's parked right next to that F-350 with the huge wheels, but you can't see it), a silver SRT-4, a red Charger, and photos of the Ram and Viper are included. The Ram is the rare club cab version, not the "normal" regular cab model.

A 3000 SPYDER

'twas a nice car

Fantastic sighting - around 2000 made. Can't tell though - is it a VR-4 or an SL? This is one of the rare occaisions where the performance model outsold the base model - in this case, the VR-4 outsold the SL by a factor of about eight to five. I've seen four Spyders - got a good shot of one - I love seeing them. Very few people know how rare - or how expensive - they are. Thanks for the vid. 👍

Holy fark, Doug! You did well there Ta for the write up too.

👍 Thanks - going to try to get down there every Saturday in the future to get pictures, especially if I see stuff like that! Desperately want to see a Vanquish, Diablo, Enzo, or Veyron - my current hit list.

 Certainly not.

I wasn't aware that they were rare at all. There are 3 around here alone.

Great work today, fellas. 👍 I like how Diego finally got a decent shot in, right at the very end. j/k

I also have a few nice ones like that at home, but I think the "anything good" in the thread refers to cars :indiff:

Too bad.

Had to go down to Buckhead (the shopping area where all the above pictures were taken) to get a new phone, and I caught this - at noon on a Monday!

October 2, 2006 - Atlanta, Ga.

heres mine from a while back

i felt real special in this one.... (as you can see)

this is a good shot of the motor. What i noticed is the airbox is absolutely huge and the car has a skid plate underneath.

the nose

the tail

if you look carefully you can see the skid plate underneath and my puddle of drool beside it.
im watching for more...

wow that gt3 realy stand out from the crowd there, all those dull silvers and greys and blacks, lovely photo doug, good spotting :)

Thanks - yeah, just about everyone in Atlanta has a silver, white, or black car - you notice it immediately. I like it, because it makes the usually brightly-colored supercars stand out.

Incredible sighting today - my girlfriend called me from her dorm, saying she had just seen a "yellow Lamborghini thing." I walked around campus a bit looking for it, and saw nothing except a yellow Corvette. I presumed she had mistaken the two, and went to class. Two hours later, as I was walking through campus, I glanced down fraternity row and noticed the tail end of this sticking out from a row of parked cars...

After a bit, the driver pulled out and drove down the road - a very cool car, and I was lucky to see it for a bit.

Though you can't see my dorm from any of these shots, it's no more than 400 feet from where this vehicle was parked. Though these aren't that spectacular, to see one on campus is crazy. I think a student was driving - I know students were passengers (two of them - not easy in a Gallardo). Very, very cool to see up close (and close to home!) like this.

Do you take requests snoop douggy doug?

If you see a Cadillac STS, please snap it for me!

The 6-speed sticks are, but paddles and E-Gear aren't actually that hard. Not compared to say, a gated gearbox from a Diablo or Maranello.

Jealous? :D I am - and I lived it!

I started to think "That's it; New England just sucks." But then I realized that when I'm outside, I'm always driving somewhere, and when I'm working, I'm inside somewhere else. So it's not that there's nothing around (there really is), I just don't get the opportunity to sit around and gaze at Germany's/Michigan's/Italy's finest. Maybe I should, though.

So I'm still jealous, just for different reasons now. :grumpy:

Definitely - I got your request a bit too late to do it tonight, as it's dark out, but I'll have a shot of a new STS up tomorrow. That's the difference between me and Images Google - they don't have to wait until it's light out... and they can turn up pictures of an Enzo. :D

Definitely - but then again, I'd be super afraid to mess up E-gear or SMT and someone's quarter million dollar supercar... I'd need practice somehow!! :D I wonder how valets practice?

In order to see my sightings most days, I have to pay cab fare to and from the venue at which I view cars, since I don't have a car here at Emory. I still feel it's worth it. It's so satisfying when you see one of Germany/Michigan/Italy's finest... :D That Superamerica will keep me happy for a week.

Nice Gallardo! I saw some asian teenager in one once, but he was just trying to impress his girlfriend...

Anyway, I went to Laguna Beach and saw a crapload of cars, be back to list the cars and edit this post with pics of what I DID catch later.

Sounds worth it to me, too. There's not much better than just relaxing in the sun with your wife/girlfriend doing -- essentially -- nothing. 👍

So, i was at Spa Francorchamps over the weekend. There's a lot of money in Historic Motorsports so the paddock area is usually full of exotica. Here are some of the motors i managed to 'snap'

512TR.

997 Turbo - one of two seen, couldn't get a better angle than this.

550/575 Maranello, again one of two in this colour.

Matra Murena. Not a fantastic car, but pretty rare and you've got to love that 3 seat layout, especially in 'buttoned' crushed velvet 👍

Due to a pretty tight schedule over the weekend, and the fact that i'd planned on taking more pictures on the Sunday, but left the circuit on Saturday, i missed taking pictures of 2x 997 GT3's a handful of 996 gt3's, a 996 GT3RS. Many Ferraris including a 246 Dino and a 365 berlinetta boxer and many others which i've already forgotten.

... i did however take a few photos of this VW that some people may be interested in...

It was in a dark shaded corner of the onsite hotel/restaurant and the sun was in a bad position so you'll have to excuse the poor quality of the pix.

That looks a bit like a miniature Buggati Veyron except for the back end and front fenders. I've always loved cars from Volkswagen, I never knew they made a sporting model.

Wow. I didn't know Bugatti were a subsidiary of VW

The shot of the intercoolers and intake plenum is fantastic......and is now floating around during my screensaver. Wonderful finds.
