However, I think by law if all other disable spots are full and someone has the proper tag then they can legally park in a valet lot with those spots.

It's at the Westin. Every guest must valet, including those who are handicapped. So no.

Gotcha, that makes sense then. I suppose the only reason they have disable spots is to be kosher with a building requirement.

Indeed - I don't think they intended on being valet-only from the outset, so they made the disabled spots for that very reason. Now they just park M5s there... and the occasional Aston :)

^^sat on the post too long

Saw a blackwood the other day, the back end looked like a bathtub

First one ive ever seen, how rare are these things?

According to wikipedia: "Only 3,356 Blackwoods were made in just 15 months of production."

I saw one a while back. There were a couple sightings in this thread.

I'm a sucker for the 944's...

Like I said, it has to be the depreciation on these things, cause they're popping up like crazy and I barely saw any last year.

The nice M Coupe.

Didn't realize how long it had been since I saw an FD until one drove by

This guy was buzzing around town. Nice tone.

The boringest car on the road has to be the regular A5. S5s at least have the silver and red badging to gain *some* cool points, but this being my first regular 5 I have to say it only got boringer...

Deal's Gap sticker up here is pretty rare. It was a nice Miater too. Full cage, Sparcos etc etc.

Why is there a Honda Civic in this thread? You tell me. I can get an EG Civic for under a thousand dollars, yet this guy has a really clean JDM import. What's the deal you Honda geeks?

I spotted that Carrera S with the GT3 kit and did up some more photos but I won't post them anymore to avoid ruining the effect. If anyone's interested in big versions or seeing the new ones, my PM box is empty.

Totally agree; the Turbo is such a fussy and overly detailed design, and then they threw on little delicate tri-spokers. The 997 series in general has been such a let-down design-wise.

The Maser's got very clever and well-resolved wheels from a design process standpoint and are very unique, but just like the body, they aren't for everyone.

Looking back at it, I think that shot actually makes them look better than in most other cases or I got used to them, which I doubt.

Today was a good day, however, no photos were taken:

Ford GT (most likely a replica, for there are many around here, but I may have be wrong)
Ferrari F430 Spyder
Audi R8 4.2
Aston Martin DB9
Jaguar XKR (all the four above were on a cruise together)
BMW (E60) M3

Woke up to an email from a guy on another forum asking if i can give him a call,he asked if i wanted to come out for a run and well it would be rude to say no :D

The GT was probably a replica. Today I saw 2 replica Cobras, speeding at around 80km/h in a 60 zone. Went too fast for pics. E60 M3's aren't too rare now, already seen quite a few. And also, where did you see these? I'm guessing near Frankston.

So for cars imported to the UK that don't have amber rear turn signals, do they have to add those?

Turn signals can be any color. That (on the Camaro) is a rear fog light - mandatory in Europe.

Sorry, Doug, not so. Cars registered in the UK must have amber turn signals (unless they were manufactured before 1965) in order to gain an MOT certificate.

To be precise beyond believe its a DB9 Sports Package, which doesn't do much really apart from give it some new wheels and little under the hood tweaking.

*Cough* The wheels are forged, as opposed to cast (saves 1kg a corner), the springs, dampers and geometry are different, and the cars gain a stiffer undertray.

👍 Great spot on the R5 Turbo II - those things are beasts, even for a 1.4ltr.

Nearly bought one, a long time ago. Would never have been able to run it, though. I needed an everyday car. :) So, of course, I bought a Golf Rallye G60SE.

Learn something new everday. Thanks for the precious information Venari, which really I should have already knew. :ouch:

No worries.

Wait 'til next year. More new toy options than you can shake a stick at.

Oh! Although it better not be another Aston like the new N400. There's something which doesn't seem to feel "Aston Martin" like with that car...remind me of a Porsche with all its "built for the Nurburgring" things on, it even has a Nurburgring stitched onto the glovebox...

I wish this was true in the US - red signals are proliferating and I hate them. The new Infiniti G35 sedan's signals are inside the brake light and are invisible when the car is braking. My signals are red (from the factory) and are the same size and shape as my brake lights - plus my car is red so NO ONE ever sees them. So so annoying.

Recent from me

Tell me this does not look suspiciously like 'ASS FAN':

A55FN-041808.jpg

Oddly as Joey and Brad will tell you that's over-the-counter. Next one was A56FN, etc. A99FN goes to A01FO (or A01FP if they don't use O). Sometimes makes for odd combinations like A55FN!

I like cars that have “hidden” amber turn signals, like the first-gen Honda S2000.

Pretty good couple of days as far as car watching goes:

Another Challenger, I'm sort of getting tired of seeing these things and only snap a picture if it's a different colour. The only one I'm missing is orange.

Lotus Elise, fairly rare around these parts but I think I've seen four over the past week. Guess they are becoming more common.

Flying Spur

Audi TT convertible, oddly I don't think I have seen one of these yet.

Old Porsche 500 maybe? I don't know my old European cars.

Ah, Mister Fisker.

His sum total of useful design input into Aston Martin over his tenure? The rear lights of the Aston Martin VH-platform.

Don't let Wikipedia fool you, both the DB9 and the Vantage were penned long before he arrived.

Personally, I think I'd prefer the Mercedes SL55 that's underneath that mess.

I think I'd prefer the Latigo CS to the BMW 650, but that's like saying I'd prefer having my teeth removed with a shotgun to a napalm enema.
