What a gorgeous car with a gorgeous dash.

(I love how few buttons there are, and yet you still can’t tell what most of them do.)

You know, my friend has a car just like that in his garage that his dad used to drive around 20 years or so ago. I think it's actually that car. How much are they worth?

around 40-100k (US$) I think. Must depend a great deal on the condtion. I have a feeling the 230/280SL's 'Pagoda Roofs' are more valuable.

Nice spot on the Mercedes 190SL. Looks drop dead gorgeous..... 👍

Bigtime future collectible, the 190SL. Still undervalued even with recent upswings. Agree that Joey's Porsche spot is not a GT2, but who knows - pictures are from too far away.

Yeah no one going to steal such an obvious car in HK plus you wouldn't be able to get away in it very fast because of traffic PLUS the island is only like 8 miles wide... so you can't really run!

Right, it's time I contributed to this thread, and here's what I saw today when I popped into banbury (UKGTP8 host, ride a horse to banbury cross, etc.etc.)

Saw a possible spec of a fast car behind the bus:

I thought maybe a Datsun or even an old Ferrari?
It eventually caught us and hid behind a truck for a bit:

Oh so that's what it is!

Is this rare?

I also saw a Jensen Interceptor II:

Are you 🤬 kidding? That's a Porsche 959.

The grey ovals are the car's number for the Goodwood Fesitval of Speed. I took this of that very same car at the FoS in 2006:

It was driven by Jacky Ickx that weekend. The B registration makes it an 1984/85 car. 3 959s were entered into the 1985 Paris-Dakar, but all 3 retired. In 1986 René Metge won (to whom the "R Metge" refers), and Jacky Ickx was second. Whether that was the winning car or not I'm not yet able to establish.

I agree with the above comments, that pic is just stunning.

Well, I'm kinda pissed today. I had my best spots ever and my camera was all cosy in my bedroom not paying attention.
It was on a public parking lot in Lisbon, I saw (both for the 1st time) a black Quattroporte and a flat black 612 Scaglietti (this one with some foreign plates). Both drivers came to their cars and left while I was there waiting for someone, so I got to hear both.
The Quattroporte was driven by what appeared to be Mr. Burns himself, no less than 176 years old. 👍

I'll never go to Lisbon again without my camera...

Great photos exigeracer!

Is that 959 one of THE spots of the thread or what? Stunning spot. I passed up an opportunity to take a photo of an orange GT3 RS last, which now looks like it would have been completely insignificant anyway. Amazing stuff, Alex!

Alex. that has got to be it! A sweet 959 passing you by with that boxer engine.....

As for the Black Red Bull car, I think its a Jeep with some stupid hod rod body kit on it 👎 (or I could be wrong.....)

Thanks for the compliments guys. It was on the roundabout which eventually has a turnoff to 'Prodrive' who I believe did alot of work with Rothmans in the 80's.

Musa, yes it did sound good :D

I know this may not be that big to you guys who live in the city, but i saw what i think was a Porsche Boxster S on my way home from footy training tonight. I forgot my phone though. :(

Haha it sure doesn't look like any other Volvo! I could not for the life of me figure it out, I thought it was a Dodge Power Wagon, but the front fenders were too thick for a Dodge.

Nice.

Photographic question: on the assumption you don't carry a small step ladder everywhere you go, for shots like that, do you just reach as high as you can, point the camera at the car and hope for the best? I've always wondered.
