Question, do you know this stuff or do you research it after the photos?

I know most of it - not stuff like production numbers - but years, engines, etc.

Venari
The reason is probably almost exactly as you say - they were the same shade when they left the factory, but the polymer panels age differently to the alloy painted panels. Hmm. Why would the door bases be different.

Maybe not, then...

Most BBs left the factory two-tone like this. Could be that. Could also be that they're made of different stuff as mentioned - that's my bet.

Toronado
I dunno. They certianly went all out when they replaced it.

True. GranTurismo is the second-ugliest car on the road right now, after the 612.

I always preferred the 365 GT4 over the 512BB, even though it was slower, handled worse and had poorer driving manners.

According to the owners, the 365 is faster than the 512. A bit more power and a little less weight.

ROAD DOGG
I would rather have the 288 GTO or even the 308.

Maybe on looks. 365'd out-perform a 308 any day. And I think just about anyone would rather have the 288...

I actually meant to say 328, but I think the 308 still has enough power for me. It's pretty light too. A 348 or F355 would also be quite nice.

I think the Maserati GT looks pretty good. I can see that it might be a little boring for some, but otherwise nothing wrong.

The F50 looks like a big square with a jellybean hanging off the front, Doug. It goes F50 < 288 < F40.

Where's this "jelly bean" you speak of? :P

From the A-pillar (or thereabouts) forward. When I look at the front of an F50 I see...

...with a couple holes in the top.

Nice spot one the Ferrari 365 GT4 BB Doug. You've seen many rare cars in a year than other people in a lifetime!!!! :( (and I don't even have a camera......)

It seems a strange decision by Ferrari to give the Ferrari 365 GT4 BB SIX exhausts

Look.

288 < F40 < F50

Simple as that

Not sure where the Enzo fits in...

I'd say it fits nicely between the F40 and F50, with the FXX somewhere in the Czech Republic from where I'm sitting.

I've seen two vipers in two days, but I was in motion and didn't have a camera. :grumpy:

Here's some recreations of the cars I saw...

At Laguna Seca:

Audi R8, silver with bluish silver intakes. I don't like to stare but I couldn't help it, it's only the third i've seen on the road after all!

You shan't hear from me again until I'm back from the NĂĽrburgring in the summer, then I'll have quite a list for you! Last year's highlights included a 993 GT2, Carrera GT and a Gumpert Apollo...

I bet everyone is trading in their GT's for Speeds. Pretty soon they'll be everywhere too.
