Thanks to the upcoming board battle, Ive driven a few more TLD cars that I hadnt really used much before:
TLD BMW M3:
Great car, I liked it before but with this tune its even better! Ive decided against using this in the board battle because I dont feel experienced enough with it, it seems to like to go funny on me at times if I enter a corner a bit differently. However, finally a car that can put its throttle down without wheel spin! I easily made better lap times than the XK, around 2m18 mark usually.
The stock version is good as is, this tune allows it to carry quite a bit more speed into corners. Pity about the looks of the car
but at least the engine sounds nice.
TLD 512BB:
Ive been meaning to drive this for a while, Ive always loved Ferrari's but lately I avoided driving them because they were used quite a lot by other people online and I just got tired of seeing them. Anyway, I had raced this a bit in its stock form and it was still a great car, sometimes a handful but a real fun drive. Plus it has one of my favourite engine sounds out of any GT game so far! This tune definitely helps make the car more manageable and very forgiving when making mistakes. It looks the business too, inside and out.
This is the car I may be using tomorrow, Ive found it really easy to drive compared to the XK and its going to be tough to decide which one to race.
Lastly, after BaldurKn had driven the TLD M3, he had commented that he had tried similar settings on the DB9, I decided to test whether these settings were any better than the actual TLD DB9, and the results are interesting.
The settings couldnt be completely replicated, but the only things that couldnt be the same were the ride height and some of the gears. In the end though, at PP650 level the M3-replicated tune actually was a second quicker! Its acceleration was seemingly superior out of the corners and this gave it quite an edge. This may have just me driving one better than the other though, so Im going to post the settings here if thats ok with Holden? Think of this as an alternative TLD tune from a loyal test driver
I also tried to see if the DB9 was any good at PP600 level and also tried both tunes at this level. Because of the reduction on power though, the official TLD tune was superior. I wouldnt recommend using the DB9 for PP600 though, it could probably keep up with the NSX, XK, 512BB and M3 but you would have to push pretty hard.
