You can't see the drop at all in that picture. I saw the original post, still think it's shooped.

Check where the shadows are falling on the whole car in the 3/4 shot. Why is there no drop shadow on the rear tyre wall? Probably because the car was sitting higher, and fender wasn't originally in the way to block the suns rays.

The car is nice, and wow if it's real, but those pictures aren't convincing.

The side shot doesn't have that problem. I think it was just some weird lighting, it's possible.

I dunno then. I'm kinda 50/50 on the pics, but the guy responsible for the car has done legit stuff like this before, not to mention the car has a suspension perfectly capable of putting the car at that level. I just don't see any reason why the dude would waste his time shooping the pic.

Perhaps it was just shooped by someone else.

What're some of his other works? It's a really clean Porsche.

The dude put up those pictures himself, so he was the only one to have them when they were posted.

And of course I can't find a single thing when I need it. I'm starting to think it may have been someone else I was thinking of.

This is why I hate Rota wheels and any other knockoff parts. I would post it here but it's a big article.

http://www.bespokeventures.com/blog...t-truthabout-jdm-aka-the-death-of-innovation/

It's a good read, check it out.

So you hate Rota because they offer a cheaper version of an expensive product? That's really dumb. No, I don't agree with them not doing any R&D and coming up with their own ideas, but disowning them (or anyone who puts their wheels on their car) only because they are not the real thing is pretty stupid IMO. I don't want to argue, but if that is the only reason you are giving me...wow.

They and many other brands making many other things have zero innovation in their products. They really are just blatant copies. While they may pass the test, the quality of materials, manufacturing process, and craftsman ship in general is all questionable. Once the innovative racing companies all go out of business we'll be left with brands who don't have the capacity to come up with new and better products, because they only experience they've ever had is making copies.

Read the link I posted. That is why I hate any rip off product, and if you haven't noticed the toll it's taken on new products and innovation for our cars then you're simply in denial, and Rota is a HUGE factor in that just by itself because of it's massive success.

On another note, here is my car on 15x7 +21 Watanabe wheels.

Flush is epic.👍

I highly doubt the companies Rota and the like are copying will go out of business any time soon. There will always be people who want the real thing, and there will always be who are willing to take a small hit on craftsmenship/quality of materials (seriously, how many reports of broken Rota wheels are there? Surely they would have been long out of business if it was a common problem.) to get something that looks like the real deal and performs almost the same.

edit: PB posted while I was quoting Keef...

I did read the link you posted. The example the guy who wrote that article used is kinda lame IMO. One company decided to discontinue one item because they didn't wan't people to confuse their original item with that of the knockoff. How is that taking a toll on "new products and innovation" for your cars? I'm not in your "scene" so I have no idea whats in or cool or innovative or whatever. I know what I like and what looks cool and if I can buy a set of wheels from Rota for under $1000 that looks just like a set of wheels that cost $4000 in Japan, you bet your ass I will.

Really?

Takumi Project was an importer for JDM wheels, the only official distributor for Watanabe wheels in the US. They've gone out of business. I can think of 3 Watanabe Ripoffs off the top of my head right now.

Trust USA anyone?

I'm in a hurry right now but I can come up with more if you want later.

EDIT: Those are borrowed off my buddies Miata. That's why there's only pics of the left side of the car.

No idea what that is. Like I said, I'm not in the import scene.

No thanks. Like I said a few posts ago, I don't want to argue. We obviously have differing opinions so we might as well leave it at that.

Btw, your car looks badass with those wheels. 👍

QFT, I'm sort of annoyed with the way some members are elitest that think everything on their car has to be mad tyte JDM yo. If the owner of the car likes it then whatever. Like what you like and don't let other influence you.

I don't care for JDM.

It is what it is. I don't care what people do to their cars, but when theirs actions are a direct cause to the lack of new innovation and engineering applied to our cars, then it starts to get a bit annoying to say the least. Companies that have been around for a long time, started with the concept of bringing new, fresh ideas to the table are being killed off by blatant theives.

I should take the phrase "don't let others influence you" that you said. What if you don't have a choice because suddenly the product you wanted for your car is not available anymore because the company can't afford to produce it?

Opinions are opinions, but there's nothing "elitist" about disliking criminals and those who support them, especially when it affects you personally.
