Saw my first 370Z. White. Sexy as hell. A new Camaro yesterday as well, black with red stripes. I've yet to see a new Mustang outside of a dealership/show :grumpy:.

Saw this.

Not sure if this counts since they weren't caught 'on the street' but I saw a couple of very nice BMW race cars over the weekend at the local M Power Tour. There were plenty of M3s, M5s and M6s there, but the race cars were the real rare spots.

First is an ultra-rare BMW M1 Group 4/ProCar racer, driven by David Hobbs.

Next is the new ALMS Rahal Letterman M3 GT2, #92; which debuted (and failed to start) at Sebring earlier this year

^ Thanks! They were being shown at a BMW event called the M Power Tour. Basically, they invite current and past M owners to come out, eat their food, and drive the new M3 with M DCT. Probably trying to tempt us into wanting to buy one.

It worked on most of us :ill:

Here are a few other pics, reasonably sized and tweaked to look less crappy.

Their M5 on display, plus some rare motorcycles. It wasn't available for guest drives when I was there.

Guest parking. M6 vert is a respectable spot. Can you spot the two interlopers? :sly:

Mrs. M and I drove the Alphne White M3 on the right. They had an M3 in each color. Someone broke the Interlagos Blue one :grumpy:

Anyone seen an Evora yet? 'Cos now I have:

Apologies for the photo quality, was taken as I was driving and it was moving!

Also saw this today. Second Silver Shadow in a few days:

Funny that in the last couple weeks I've started seeing those Camaros and new Mustangs everywhere. Definitely a sales success for both companies. They're far more common than the Challengers.

I've also been seeing the three or so 599s that live near me all the time as well.

When you average 4 hours of sleep a night, it's hard to keep up with this thread (or any other). I'm ever so thankful for holidays.

Ducati ???

A Ducati of unknown model, but the tubular framework really draws me to it.

Moto Guzzi ???

Can't tell the model of this one either, as it doesn't resemble anything on Moto Guzzi's website. Any ideas?

Suzuki GSXR-1100

Rare? Not sure. Tacky graphics? Most definitely.

Fiat 500

No, not the new one; a genuine original, rag top and all.

Austin Healy 3000

Kind of inspired me to rent a convertible and ride from the middle of New York City to somewhere upstate, non-stop with the top down.

Packard 1947

This makes Packard #4 outside that same dentist's office. If I weren't in a rush, I would have gotten out of the car to photograph it. I probably should have anyway.

Morgan ???

Another clueless one for me. It looks Morgan-ish, has a Morgan logo on the front, but has a dual-twin exhaust, has modern-size tires, and moves *fast*. I'm starting to think it's a kit car.

unknown unknown

I need to know what this is. A Bristol? An AMC? I have no idea, but I'm sure it's going to be obvious after someone tells me.

Chevrolet Camaro SS 2010

First Camaro I've seen on the road and he was driving it like he stole it. Black suits it well, but those rear wheels look narrower than even a pre-2000 Camaro. The exhaust looked right, but could this have been just an RS with an SS badge?

Chevrolet Corvette Z06 Commemorative Edition

Not too sure how rare it is, but I would have left it a little rarer if given the choice between it and the standard C5 Z06. Those stripes are...not good.

Dodge Durango R/T 5.9

Almost powerful enough to get out of its own way. The Shelby version was much better, and much more comical when the only one near me is bright blue and driven -- quickly -- by an 80-year-old woman.

Honda S2000 CR

I posted an image of this car before, but it was of poor quality and the car was almost out of view. I think this makes up for it some.

Lexus IS-C

Not sure if it's a IS350 or IS250, but it was in the process of being handed over to a new owner. Gives me the same reaction I get from the IS coupe: meh.

BMW 650i

I normally wouldn't care about a 650i, but is this one a particular aftermarket/pre-sale version? There was no badging on it at all.

Aston Martin DB9 Volante

Not its best angle.

Aston Martin Vanquish

This cul-de-sac brings so many nice cars. Or, rather, it's the one guy who owns all those nice cars....

Ferrari 308GTS

Like the Esprit posted earlier, an 80's Ferrari in its native habitat.

Ferrari 550M

Can someone tell me what I'm really looking at here? I can't quite resolve why that trunklid looks too round and there's some type of ground effects diffuser.

Mercedes-Benz C43 AMG

I dig this car; I really do. A bit ahead of its time, considering the S4 and M3 still had six cylinders, and the C32 succeeded the C43, but this had the sleeper thing down pat even more than the S4. Now? It's all about the V8.

Mercedes-Benz SL63 AMG

No SL65's? At all??

Porsche 911 Turbo S Cabriolet

Considering how expensive these options add up, they are surprisingly common on the street. Must have been that fire sale when the 997 arrived.

Maserati Coupe 2006

I haven't even seen one of these in a while, so it was neat to see one again. Especially since the one I see at the train station all the time so mysteriously disappeared....

Alfa Romeo 8C

Hadn't seen one at all until just then, and it turns out to be a daily commuter...to be parked all day at a train station. This seems to be the replacement for a cobalt blue Maserati Coupe that was parked in the same spot last month. Every day, rain or shine, and it's been rain 20 out of 30 days this month.

Around here (Connecticut, bleh) I've been seeing a lot more new Challengers. Either way, with the way the market is, I'm sure those looking for a bit of muscle can get a reasonably good deal.

I've heard that Camaros are still going for an average of $500 over MSRP, so there aren't any "good deals" to be had on those, just demand. Which is impressive during a recession/depression. I bet the Challengers are cheap though.

The fact that the Camaro's are even within a $1,000 of their MSRP is actually rather good.

Had the economy not been in the way it currently is, I'd expect the Premiums to be much higher.

That's because it's a 612 Scaglietti ;)

Your Morgan, like you said, is likely to be a kit. (I'm pretty sure Morgan have never made a four-door either)

The 'unknown' below it is interesting. I don't know what it is, but i'd guess it's a mid-late 60's Camaro or Mustang maybe, rebodied by one of the Italian design houses. It's possibly a one-off, but i could be totally wrong and it might be something much more mundane.

Bertone showed this rebodied Mustang in '65. You can see the similarities.

*Edit*

I think i've found it. It looks a lot like a Ghia 450SS. Not a re-bodied Pony car as i expected, but it was built for the US market and it did have a Chrysler V8. Pretty rare too. One of 50 made and only one of 12 that survive apparently.

Harry- that white 650i you saw is AC Schnitzer-tuned. ACS6 Sport, to be exact. Just some normal Atlanta fare today, Bentley's first:

The best spot of the day was in front of my house-a red 355 Berlinetta. It's the 2nd exotic in 4 days that drove by my house- on Tuesday, an all black Ford GT drove by. I can hardly believe the two best spots of the week were in front of my house!! :ill: -kevin

:0 a 450SS ghia? No way.

look Harry, you may take horrible from-car pictures, but you are still the BESTESTEST spotter in this thread for me. You always seem to get such a nice balance of old, new, incredibly rare and quite-common-but-still-intresting stuff in every post, plus many muscle cars and rods and stuff. If only you just stepped out of your car and blew some pics...

BTW, sure it's a Packard? It stinks of Lincoln to me.

yea think it is a lincoln, those lights and bumpers

me and the Citroen GT had a fine photo session today :sly: i know it doesnt really count at shows but i just had to say, damn what a design

"Did you see anything good today?" The term "good" is relative here. Good for us, bad for owner:

Also saw a Nissan GT-R, though I had already spotted it before and posted pics here. -kevin

Based on stereotypes the driver was A white Caucasian housewife in her 30's talking on her cellphone.

I was in a car being followed and then following an Aston Martin DBS...

...but was shamed out of getting a photo by the rather attractive female I was travelling with.

I know, I suck.
