Discussing those topics is fine but the endless weeping and gnashing of teeth accomplishes absolutely nothing.

Good news for tissue manafacturers and dentists though.

Discussing the topics doesn't really accomplish anything either. The only people who can really accomplish anything are the people at Polyphony.

So what, complaining is forbidden, we like GT and we are obliged to wait smilling and celebrating each sentence of KY about GT?
Complaining isn't forbidden, no, but it's awfully repetitive.

Im not complaining by the lack of information... All i want is a release date. All other info like weather and damage im more than happy to be patient.

It will be there for sure, don't worry about it all that much :P

Complaining is not forbidden, but it's also pointless. Why agonize over something like this? It's like worrying about getting older.

It will come out when it comes out. Parts of it will be great; parts of it will be mediocre; parts of it will suck. Discussing those topics is fine but the endless weeping and gnashing of teeth accomplishes absolutely nothing.

Well, you're right...there is lot of other things to do or speak about waiting GT!

But when i'm reading GT's forums i express my feelings about GT and only GT, be sure i've got lot of hobbies and i'm not thinking about GT5 24h/24h :)

NB: At least, if there isn't any new information...forum will dye :sly: (so some people gave us false release date, other speculate about porsche in GT5...this is also pointless but it keeps the forums alive)

When GT5 comes out, this forum will go very inactive... Well not very inactive, just not as active as it is now cause all info will be out.

No it won't. It will explode with lots of new threads about features found in the game, just like it did when GT4 came out.

Incidentally, why are people complaining about Sony not listing GT5 at GameCom? Have Sony EVER said they would? No. We have said that in threads like this because we hope they will give us details. Should we therefore blame Sony because they don't do something they never said they would do in the first place?

Thats not how marketing works....
Just because the previous games sold well and theres a few hundred very vocal fans on the internet, you cant assume that the next game will sell just as well without the same amount of heavy promotion.

They need to push it just as hard in Europe to ensure that the the existing market dosnt just go and buy Forza, NFS (or for the vast majority of people buying it, it wont even be a choice between racing games, but a choice between going and buying GT, or any other game for that system.)

I completely agree, especially these days with consumer attention spans are so short. For example, no one is going to make a multi-million dollar movie sequel like Harry Potter & not promote it just because people came out to watch the previous ones. That's just insane.

Everything needs to be promoted hard, especially a project that is as large & important as GT. There's too much invested (time, as well as money) in this product to sell it short by not promoting.

GTPSP is the cancer of GT5, and from that derives all our frustration and indignation...

I highly doubt that since GT Mobile was done by an entirely different team at PD(just my theory). The only thing it has in common with GT5 development wise is that Kaz was in charge of both.

Every single stupid show this discussion comes up.

I redirect you all to this post:
Since this news relates to GT5 in the sense of not being there :grumpy: I simply must post it here.

Here’s a list of games that are confirmed for E3. There will be more, but they will be surprises.

* Fat Princess
* God Of War 3
* Heavy Rain
* Infamous
* MAG
* Ratchet And Clank: Future A Crack In Time
* Uncharted 2: Among Thieves
* White Knight Chronicles
* Motor Storm Arctic Edge
* Socom: U.S. Navy Seals Fireteam Bravo 3

I can only hope that the list is wrong (why have Infamous there when it releases before E3?) or Sony have the game as a surprise. If the game is there with a release date I fully expect it to be the final game shown with a lot of time spent giving the final features for the game. Also the article does say more games will be there but I have to say it is worrying.

If it's not there then 🤬
Not to pick on Kingdizzi here, but this was the announced list before E3. No mention of motion controls, GT PSP, GT5, or any of the PSP Go and accompanied games announcements.

Not being on the list means nothing. Nothing.

So, let's all save our complaining, whining, timelines of failure, and whatever other negative comments you have regarding GT5 not being at GamesCom until after GamesCom. It is annoying and pointless.

The only exception would be if you had a time machine and brought back video of the conference for us all to see.

Not exactly...

"The balance varies from day to day. A lot of companies, when they make a PSP version of a game, license the development out to another company. There were times when 100 per cent of our efforts were on the PSP." Kazunori Yamauchi

By the way, it always amazes me when people act suprised or indignant when people complain about the lack of information on GT5 or the lack of an announced release date. What do you think people are going to do? Yes, some people are perfectly content to wait another year or who-knows-how long for GT5 (PD loyalists). And there are some people who are getting a little impatient waiting for GT5 to be released. Is that suprising? Is it suprising that they comment on it, in a forum? Isn't that kind of the point of a forum anyway? :confused: Forum--"a public meeting place for open discussion."

In this case, however, the complaining is in regard to an event that hasn't taken place yet.

Even the most impatient person must recognize the fallacy in that.

i don't know why alot of people are suprised at this list.

The tokyo game show is tradionally the better place to unveil GT 5 just like how they did it with GT5P.

Not only that but it steals abit of forza's thunder too.

Putting GT5 in gamescon overshadows the other games. The tokyo game show is the better place for unveiling the game

I'm sure that GT5 will be there but as a surprise like at the E3. If I remember well GT5 wasn't on any list for the E3. Am I right ?

Im actually surprised (again) that Gran Turismo PSP is on the list, the GT games are rarely listed before any show.

I'll be glad anyway.
I still think they will show at least a trailer of GT5,
and if they show anything of GT5,
they'll show new things of GT mobile..
which i'm going to buy too so..

Amen to that 👍

I was going to post this but if you look at my post FoolKiller quoted it can be seen that GT was not on that list in any form and two GT games turned up at E3. Gamescom is less than 2 weeks away and I think we will get the blowout there just like what happened in 2007.

GT is biggest in EU and that too by FAR so it will be there. What remains to be seen is how much content is shown. Gran Turismo getting Lamborghini for the first time was announced in a PS blog and if we were not going to get anything big at Gamescom rest assured that Lamborghini announcement would have been kept for Gamescom. GT Mobile is getting all the love now and we now know pretty much everything about it so I do think it is GT5 time.

TGS is another place where we could get a GT5 blowout but it WILL be in one of those events because those are the only 2 major shows until E3 in 2010 and GT5 is set to come out this fiscal year. I think TGS will be FFXIII pimpin show by SE and Sony but only time will tell, either way the keytone at TGS is being done by Sony as well.

I think its Listed, because it was Officially presented at E3, but knowing that GT5 hasnt been presented i Doubt they will show it in ANY list.

Exactly, Its Harder to maintain The attraction of those who were with you last time, than Getting Attraction of New people. So Hence why i think they just Wont Forgot Europe.👍

I dont believe the same thing, if it wasnt Because of GTPSP, we wouldnt Know about Lamborghini and Bugatti, and thats a small portion of things that you can discover Thru GTPSP, lets say that in GamesCom PD Presents GT5 with a Trailer and a short Speech from Kazunori, but in the GTPSP interview he presents Porsche, and says that visual modifications done in GT5 wont transfer to GTPSP, but you will get the same stats.*

THAT Means, that he revealed awesome Things of GT5 while talking of GTPSP.*

*Improvisation or example, not real information.

Dudes, you dont really think thats the whole line-up for the 3 hours conference?
They never reveal the full stuff before, im actually surprised that there are some heavy hitters (Heavy Rain for example) already on the list.

Oh how i love surprises!
Come on GT-ites, receiving gifts in clear boxes is no fun.

Another nice little trailer would keep us going a few months(2 maybe 3 with some info released after GC).

Well, even a new trailer would have to last about a month, because if there isn't anything at Gamescom (which I highly doubt there won't be something), TGS is just a month after that....which I think we can all agree there will be something big there.....so any sort of info that comes out of Gamescom should last us the month we have to wait before most everything is revealed in my opinion.
