Sony's GameCom line-up: GT5 not in the list

I'm sure that GT5 will be in GamesCom, I hope with cool, new, awesome material, but the thing I believe most in, is that GTPSP has importantly delayed/occupied GT5 development. That's what is bothering me so much... I have a PSP, but, I don't think a portable GT game was needed in someway... maybe I'm crazy, I don't know. Feel free to criticize my position ;)

Good night fellows!

Iam not interested in the PSP at all, but now since there is a GT coming to PSP i have really thought about getting ist, but it is just too expensive for only three games that i would want to buy. (God of War, Gran Turismo Mobile and this new Metal Gear Solid Game)

Polyphony Digital is a small studio, they need some time to make these awesome games. And to make things worse (or better actually) they are really focusing on making the game as perfect as possible, which takes a lot of time.

And now making two games at the same time doesnt make things easier for them. But we will get GT5 pretty soon and GT Mobile is out some weeks from now, iam happy with that!

Hmmm.. This list also does not include PS3 slim. There have been PS3 slim photos and listings (including amazon.com) all over the place so if slim is not in this list it must be a surprise. So there is hope that GT5 will be a surprise too.

I wouldn't be surprised with more GT5 info being released, but with no actual release date until TGS.

BTW Sadaiyappan, I moved from Darien in 2006 and moved down to the Confederacy. You know Darien?

Don’t tell anyone, but GTPlanet has learned the tentative release date for Gran Turismo 5 through an unofficial but extremely reliable source. Since the date has not been officially published and Sony could still change it at their leisure, we will not be saying anything specific to keep from eating an unhealthy dose of crow. What we can say, however, is that a 2009 release is almost certain, and the much-publicized Amazon.com date of December 29, 2009 is incorrect. As it stands at the moment, it is likely the official date will be announced at GamesCom Cologne during Sony’s August 18th press conference. Stay tuned for more information, and remember: he’s making a list and checking it twice…

So thats from gtp themselves and their "extremely reliable source"...on the front news page BTW

Maybe its just me, but does anyone else get the feeling that Kaz is using GT PSP to encript subtle hints of GT5? WHile this may not be the most reasonable theory established(although there is much worse), it may be another reason why so little info is said about GT5 yet more is said about GT PSP

Ehh I have to agree with the guy who said GTPSP is kinda taking away from GT5. I mean, Portable GT is nice and all but the fact that you can only race 3 other cars kinda kills it for me. I have EA NASCAR PSP and they managed to put 43 cars on screen, of course the graphical quality wasn't nearly as good as GT. I just wouldn't waste the $40 bucks to only be able to race 3 cars.

I'll get this game, MGS Peacewalker, and Socom FTB 3...that'll pretty much be my PSP library.

do yourself a favour. don't buy FTB 3 or pretty much any slant six games. They have destroyed the venerable socom franchise by releasing socom constipation.

Do not reward irresponsible developers with money.

Have you played the game recently?
After the server fiasco at the launch?
Its awesome, it feels, looks, sounds and plays like SOCOM and its definitely better than SOCOM III.

Oh well, i will never understand the rants about this game.

EDIT: GT5P was presented first with a trailer at E3, then at the PlayStation Premiere, then at the GC and then at the TGS.

Thanks for the warning as I bought the abortion that is Socom Confrontation (RIP) at launch. But I'll pick it up used, and it looks fun compared to the PS3 brother (I know weird right?).

Let's not have this topic become off-topic btw.

If people only knew how big socom was back in the days of socom 2. People used to call it so crack. I know alot of people who bought a ps3 when socom confrontation was released.

I swear i never seen a game with such a total messed up gameplay, bugs and glitches. one can only wonder of they did any sort of quality control.

Worst of all there has been no dlc no patches no communication nothing from these third rate talentless hacks at cant fix. Sony needs to cut their ties with these losers after ftb 3.

anyways back to the topic, i think Gamescon is not a big show to showcase gt5. TGS is a better avenue. besides you dont gt 5 to overshadow other titles

About the whole not have GT5 on the Games List for Gamescom does really worry me they wont have it there. When every single Iphone came out and Apple had the Developer Conference, We new there was gonna be a iphone but never did they inform us that they were going to reveal it. Im not saying that Sony is just like Apple, but its a possility that this could happen also since GtPsp wasnt there along with the psp go. Plus there are 3 hours of conference I dont think Sony is gonna waste that time(James Camerons Avatar Speech at E3)

It would be nice to get some features, but if we dont then theres nothing we can really do about it, and to all that are super impatient, The Forza Series isnt that bad and that can keep you busy until Gt5 comes out.

But Taking a wild guess, Since the Addition of Lambo and Buggati, I'll Say Porsche will be introduced to the series and it will be the Cover art for the game

Nothing announced so far and i doubt we will get it unfortunately.
The usual sites like IGN & Eurogamer will have live blogs for sure.

ok, what I'm hearing is a lot of negativity. GTplanet pretty much confirmed a 2009 release date- so before our calendars turn to 2010 we will have played gt5 by then. Why can't people just be overwhelmingly happy and realize the wait is nothing compared to the rewards of game play we're getting in just a few months.

I agree, its pretty much been confirmed the game is coming this year. Not 2010, not 2011, not in the next decade, 2009.

Forza Forza Forza Forza Forza

Edit: I'm ...and certainly would stay faithfull to GT(since first one). I'm just tired, it's too long.

Don't let the door smack you on the arse during your trip out of here, over to forzaplanet.net ;)

Because people these days have the attention span of a gnat.
