I really would like to eat my words but even the "whispering winds" know that Gt5 will probably not make the Gamescom Sony presentation.

It has been a long time since the "whispering winds" have been made public. And not to doubt Amar, but is it remotely possible that those are no longer completely accurate? We're talking about PD here, things could've changed.

what part of the cryptic messages makes you think gt5 won't be at gamescom?
...

3 hours is a long time to just showcase those few games. It wouldn't be Sony if there weren't a few surprises in there somewhere.

I know it's been said already, but Gran Turismo 5 wasn't on Sony's E3 list either - nor is it on the GamesCom list.

It will be there - either in full force complete with a new trailer, screenshots, a feature list and a release date - or at least some new features and a new trailer - If that is the case, the big reveal will be set for the Tokyo Game Show.

I WISH they actually show something on GT5 at gamescom but i feel like there is no reason for us to get our hopes up. Honestly since when do games get announced 4-5 months before release? Even lesser games are announced many months in advance, look at bad company 2 and hell even Forza.

I really would like to eat my words but even the "whispering winds" know that Gt5 will probably not make the Gamescom Sony presentation. They will probably announce the ps3 slim, show some more GOW 3 details, a presentation of Heavy Rain and most likeley some Uncharted 2 gameplay. Other than that the psp games of the future (including GT-PSP) and some re-hashing of what we saw at E3.
GT mobile is coming out October 1st, and was announced at E3, which took place June 15-17. That leaves 3 and 1/2 months between the announcement and the release. If GT5 shows up at gamescom on the 18th. That'll leave 3 and 1/2 months or so of 2009.

You seem to forget that GT5 was announced years ago.
GTPSP on the other hand came more or less as a surprise (its not GT4 Mobile).

That's my point. GT5's release date not being announced yet doesn't mean it can't come out this year. He said what game comes out 4-5 months after an announcement, and I responded with GTPSP. I didn't forget that GT5 was announced years ago.

Now, to kinda go out of the release/complaint topic...

Can someone tell me WHEN Gamescon will be?
I checked their website but it said August 2, which is obviously wrong.

back to topic...

Qt least we know GT5 won't be like Duke Nukem forever (DNF). *sigh* the irony...

Starts the 18th I think.

No its not subjective, its fact.
The market with the most sales is the most important and Eurpoe has the biggest GT sales by far.

Ok, it sold the most in the past... So what?!

That doesnt mean much. The last full game was five yars ago and a lot changes in five years.

How can you, a guy who plays the game, say what their most important part of the world is? They didnt add NASCAR for Europeans (subjective POV)

A company like PD, or Sony, looks way down the road, not years in the past. You cant argue that.

GT5 Prologue?

I dont say that the other countries arent important too, but Europe is GT "mainland".

The difference is huge.

The difference is huge.

GT2 did better in the states, and GT3 A-Spec did quite a bit better, but recently GT has swayed towards Europe. My guess is that the Americans still in general prefer XBOX, which wasn't around at the time of GT2/3.

That is hilarious. By those numbers North America is their number 1 priority. GT2 and GT3 sold more in North America than in Europe.

I really dont get your point.

So, obviously their sales have dropped off in North America and that is what they need to fix. PD number 1 most important objective is to get more sales in North America (another subjective POV)

I was right... "Europe is their most important market" is subjective. Thanks for posting those numbers to back me up.

Dont act like you know what you dont. Until you tell me you are Kaz dont say what his companies priorities are.

In your last post you said that we shouldnt look in the past.
GT4 and GT5P have more ( a lot more) than twice the sales in Europe, this is a good indication for how the market is now.

But since im a huge fan of american cars (NASCAR included) i dont mind if they try to get better sales in the US of A with a wider american car selection.

I also said companies like PD look into the future. GT5, GT6 etc...

What is your point?

What is important to them only they know. Quit trying to argue a losing battle.

I have to agree with GT Ace here, Gran turismo is doing and has been doing alot better in europe for the last 5 years, then in america.

I put all that down to the arrival of Xbox. PS3 is more popular in Europe.
It would be interesting if these figures were compared against console sales though, as i imagine there was a larger proportion of playstation to xbox gamers last gen than there is this gen in the US. Who knows maybe number of copies of GT per console sold may be higher than in Europe.

Apparently, at gamescom, Sony will reveal the new redesigned ps3 slim. While that is set to be the highlight of the show, I say what better way to show it off then with the killer app title? Enter gran turismo 5. With both of those releases on their side, I think they can dominate 09 and pave the way for a superior 2010.

At least it's somewhat confirmed that bugatti and lambo will be in the game. The final component that would make me the happiest man would have to be the mclaren f1 LM, and a few other iterations of this car.

Anyways, I do think gt5 will make an appearance somehow. Watch them show the weather aspect... Or go more in depth with the damage.

A Playstation 3 Slim/Gran Turismo 5 bundle is very plausible I'd say! :dopey:

Yup it is.

A trailer like at the E3 would already satisfy me.
One thing im pretty sure we will see at this conference is Agent from Rockstar Games btw.

It will be Exactly the same Tactic as PSPgo, Unveil new hardware, better looking and with a killer App that everyone is waiting for, sounds Ver Possible:tup:
