Rue & Dac_Xint: You got some pretty crazy cars there in Hong Kong! Does everyone there have a Porsche or a Ferrari?
No that would be silly. Some of them have Maseratis, Lamborghinis or Skylines. ;)
 No no, I'm sure most of them actually drive Bentleys and Bugattis! ;)

That sums it up pretty well :D the rest of us just use public transport and think who in the right mind will need a car when you are that well connected in the first place... but we thank them for it, our transportation infrastructure is well supported by the import taxes.

Dac_Xint, what lens do you use for all these photos? You always have a fantastic DOF, makes the cars stand out brilliantly. For spots on the street they're more like professional photographs 👍

I mostly use a Sigma 18-200mm 3.5 - 6.5 for general photos, thats what I've always used for car photos, but it lacks DOF...

I occasionally use a Canon 10-22mm 3.5 - 4.5, this is great for up close wide angle photos, particularly in car parks

My recent photos are mostly taken with a Sigma 50mm 1.4, the large aperture is what gives that gorgeous DOF, I highly recommend this lens as it's great for portraits as well as cars. It's lack of distortion means its perfect for multiple photo stitching for large panoramas. Canon also makes a slightly cheaper 50mm 1.4, but the little extra juice for the Sigma is worth the squeeze.

A high school teacher of mine had a MGB... she sat on the front wing and it became dislodged from the body... that sight will stay with me for life...

I dont know that the following corvette is rare but I dont see any out in the cheapo area near my school. I only took photos of the TT because it is one of the better ones I've seen, black with nice rims.

Sorry for my friend being in that one:sly:.

Front of corvette after reverse park, guy looked at me funny when I took a pic:scared:

Love the colour and rim combo.

Note how they both have custom plates, the Corvettes is '88TON' and I think the TT's is '02PRR'. Custom plates are so popular over here now.

Thanks for the info 👍

That settles it then, I'm getting a 50mm with a large aperture! After seeing how fantastic your shots look in this thread and seeing Scaff's experiments with his in his photo thread I'm definitely going to have to get one.

Clearing Out The memory card, the mini was for someone here , I cant remembner who.

That's not a GT3? It looks awfully GT3-ish (wheels, wing, lower body trim).

You'd better Tuttle, I dont want 442s blocked by your windshield again ¬¬

I'm working on it! I'm working on it! :nervous:

See?

Rolls-Royce Corniche ~1980

I posted this car earlier but the photo was sinfully poor. This should be better. Even poo-brown Rollers deserve better.

MG TF ~1950

That MG could just about hop into the back of that minivan.

Chevrolet 3800 panel van ~1955

It looks like some blobby cartoon vehicle, especially with those balloon-spec tires.

Oldsmobile 88 1959

Not sure if that's exactly what this is, but it's been under restoration for quite a while. Either it's done or just about done.

Pontiac GTO convertible 1967

Wonderful car that just had some bodywork done. Shame to the person who caused it!

Alfa Romeo Giulia

A delicate little car that appears there from time to time. There was no good lighting shot for it (half in shade), but I'll try again.

Jaguar X-Type 3.0 Estate

The second one I've seen. X-Type's aren't that rare, but I thought the station wagon version wasn't even sold in the US.

Nissan 350Z Nismo

Flew by me as I waited at an intersection. Never found out where he went.

Mercedes-Benz 560SEC

A classic (sort of). At least it's from an era when Mercedes' were built to last.

Mercedes-Benz S63 AMG

...time will tell if this one holds up as well.

BMW Z8

On that day, with that weather, and that car, VRUUMM indeed.

Aston Martin DB9 Volante

Is grey the only color people buy DB9's in? It looks good, sure, but no British Racing Green? No Sutherland Red?

Aston Martin Vanquish S

After many times seeing this car with dealer plates, it now has a new home.

Ferrari 456M

Another stuck-at-the-intersection moment for me. :guilty:

Ferrari 599GTB

I sure as hell wasn't going to mess this one up; holding up traffic be damned. (Oh, come on; at best it's 12 MPH on that street!)

Someone posted a 'new' Mustang convertible (a V6, no less), which reminds me that I should get around to posting something about a drive I took this past July. It's a good drive I recommend to all, but you'll have to wait for the post to see. :sly:

Nice spots! I should have posted the 350Z Nismo I saw in London... but quality isn't so great.

I thought it looked a little more sportier than the run of the mill Carreras, but since I know little about them, the rear emblem says its a Carrera 4... and I was convinced, lol

(edit: a little googling confirms this, the GT3 body kit is more extreme than this, and the front lights are different.)

Meh, nothing really special over the last few days.

Turning into Dorcas....

First 370Z I've managed to get pictures of, looks much, much better in the flesh than pictures.

Also saw a production-ready Camaro SS 2010 in weird purple-maroon colour, shame it was travelling at high speed in the opposite direction.

Nothing too special other then this Black SRT10.

I did get some night pics of that Drag Dart I posted a few days ago though

For some reason, as often as I see a 350Z Nismo (about once every six weeks), I simply can't find one standing still or going in the same direction as me, resulting in a fuzzy photo at best. :dopey:

Well, if the badge says it.... Looks awfully close, though. ;)

Parked on one of my neighbours' driveway when I got home from work today.

Lambo

Now how am I supposed to compete with that?

I love those things, and not just for what under the hood. Now if only some would do lifts on them......

If you lift a Ram SRT-10, you are the biggest poser on the planet. That's like turning a Corvette in a donk. You don't.

This is one of two daily-driven Alfa Romeo Giulias. I still can't tell the difference between some Giulia Juniors and GTVs (and I researched them quite a bit when I was wildly looking at buying one). The other is red. SL63 beside it (snore).

101-70.jpg

Had to get a photo of my vintage Italian bike with a vintage Italian car :P

102-67.jpg

Then I took a trip to Mexico and shot this car (might as well, seeing Canos posts!). It was for a movie set/play, there was a Sprite chopped in half and re-proportioned to see the occupants better just down the road.

103-51.jpg

Then an SEight.

Great shots, Exige 👍 Love the second Alfa shot with your bike.

Today:

360 Spider (and Conti GT)

The amount of Porsche owners in Hong Kong who put bits and bobs from other models on their cars is ridiculous. I'd say if it said C4 then it's a C4.

Then an SEight.

Great photo!

Posted in the wrong thread:

Followed this for a few miles on the A40 (if anyone knows the area, yes in the tunnel too). Driver gave a wave when I pulled up beside him at the next exit :)

Amazing spot! There's one in my neck of the woods, but I have yet to see it.

On my way through TST this evening and here are some of the spots:

Pretty sweet E240 with black roof, any white car in HK looks amazing...

Has quite a presence, especially when flying over with that HUGE bomb bay open, but the hype about how loud she is is really... overhyped.

EDIT: Ahem.... XH558
ok XH559 :D on take off it is really loud! but it never uses the afterburners during the display only on take off :(

another hell of a post Tuttle, better pictures now, and oh man THAT GTO... what a car, immACULATE!!!

And the 1959 Olds is actually a 161 Cadilac, the 59 Olds is a way weirder design, look for it.
