Good point. If it takes too much longer, it has a real possibility of being out of date as soon as its released! No 2010 cars would suck, and worse for PD, forza 4 will probably come out one month after with everything it hasnt. Thats the kind of thing the non savvy community would latch onto, and after all the bad press of late, (not least the #1 GT fansite deteriorating into a GT5 hate fest) I can only hope that this isnt infact the last in the series.

Doesn't work like that, usually you license a single season when you license a race series. Or you specifically license the seasons ou are interested in. For example if PD have only licensed the 2008 season then they don't have the rights to include any 2009 or 2010 cars. They might be able to license some of the manufacturers rally cars from 2009 and 2010 and put liveries that don't require a WRC license on them either licensed from private teams or fictional liveries.

I think the best way to release a the date is to officially announce it at a show, or at the end of a new trailer, with all new/different cars and tracks they're haven't shown.

And there is always complaints about we never know anything and it doesn't really feel like they're showing us any love. Which is true, we're being left in the dark.. But they have a history of basically pulling something out of nowhere and surprising us with something spectacular..

Like having it appear on a shelf in Game etc with no media frenzy??? might be fun to see what happened!! :dunce:  👍 :sly::cheers:

Oh my.. Oh my. They're not smart are they. Look at his lap time there 3:10 seconds.

well, he did say this is his first time running on Indianapolis and that's his first lap driving with new GT5 physics, so that's acceptable. :P (at least he knows there's a brake button.)

I really don't think that the delay has anything to do with adding extra content. Although I would gladly be wrong.
Probably the delay is tocdo with fixing bugs and getting it all working in my opinion.

The only possible reason is marketing, I think that Kaz would love to release it in March in Japan. But now, that he has extra time to add some other stuff, maybe we will see some minor things that wouldn't have been in the game with a March release.

Agree with you on the marketing! It is Sony and there 3D TV's coming this summer, that is when i expect to see GT5!!

I thought the reason given was production issues. Which could mean anything. If the game is now currently complete and bug free I don't think they will mess about with the code adding more. Hopefully i'm wrong.

There is no such thing as a bug free game.:sly:

ESPN is launching a whole 3D network. The tv's will also hit the market in a couple months. They will be out in plenty of time for GT5.

Pacman had bugs too:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pac-Man

"Players have also learned how to exploit other flaws in the ghosts' behavior, including finding places where they can hide indefinitely without moving, and a code bug occasionally allows Pac-Man to pass through a non-blue ghost unharmed. Several patterns have been developed to exploit this bug. The bug arises from the fact that the game logic performs collision detection based on ghost / Pac-Man occupancy of grid squares, where the grid squares are large relative to the size of the characters. A character occupies (for collision detection purposes) only one grid square ("tile") at at time, despite its graphic depiction overflowing to another tile. If a ghost and Pac-Man switch tiles with each other simultaneously (which is not a rare phenomenon, because the tiles granularity is large), a collision isn't detected."

But bugs can be funny too, just so long as they happen to someone else:

I'm sure this also shows how important it is as a developer to focus your time on getting the skidmarks correct instead of other more trivial details.

Back on topic, was there no GT5 news at the Washington Auto Show?
