GT Academy Nationals Success!

TT-R's TIZZLAA was successful today at New Zealand's GT Academy National finals at Hampton Downs circuit. This means that he will be off to Europe to try and become the GT Academy winner. TT-R wishes Tizzla well on his trip overseas to stardom. đź‘Ť

When asked about Tizzla's performance Mad94d said "Of course it's great to see TT-R drivers doing this well, it's not even me and i'm proud that he is a part of the team. I talked to Craig (PAPAOSA) earlier this afternoon about it and we both thought that it was just sensational the success that Tizzla had at the finals."

But it wasn't just Tizzla doing the honours over in NZ, we also had Joe90 competing over there too. Unfortunately (of course) he did not win, but what an acheivement to even make it there! Congratulations guys.

In Australia, Steven (GTP_DEVIE) was the only driver who was able to make it to Melbourne to compete in the National finals for Australia. After fighting it out all day with Daniel (GTP_DHolland), he ended up just losing. Of course it's great to see Steven also doing so well, always next year Steven. đź‘Ť

This is what attending "Vrrm" from TORC had to say about the battle between Dan and Steven.

"Many thought the Australian final might be a Dan Holland white wash, but not so. GTP_Devie (Steven Devjak) fought to and fro all day during the heats. Indeed during the first of the semi's an incident resulted in Dan going off while Devie won. This meant that Dan had to win the 2nd semi just to get into the final, starting from 3rd on the grid he managed to get the win, but not without controversy, as Devie was nudged off the track during the event.

The final which included tepez1985, joshmuggo, GTP_Devie and GTP_Holland was tooth and nail, all took a turn in the lead and during the middle laps of the 8 lap race Dan Holland and Devie were wheel to wheel, until in another racing incident, Devie went off."

TT-R would once again like to say CONGRATULATIONS to all who attended the GT Academy National finals, you did all of us very proud!

Trans Tasman Racing Season 7 Launch

Trans Tasman Racing unveiled their war paint for the Season 7 Adrenalin Factor V8 Series today in a pre-season test day at Oran Park Raceway.

Team Founder Mad94d will be driving the #77 PS3/GT5 VE Commodore alongside new comer PAPAOSA in the #66 VE.

“It’s great to see TT-R make the move to rFactor to even further get the TT-R name out there into the world of Sim Racing.” Mad94d said.

After much success in the recent GT Academy on Playstation 3, TT-R is keen to keep the successful streak going in rFactor. “We hope to grab a few wins this season; it is a realistic goal for us to be winning races.” Mad94d said.

Trans Tasman Racing will be running predominantly black and grey cars in the upcoming series with the paint schemes being reversed for each car. “We’re ecstatic with how the cars have turned out, they look even better than I thought they would initially, hopefully they’re as fast as they look.” Mad94d said.

When questioned about his debut season in the V8’s at Adrenalin Factor, PAPAOSA was confident in the car’s pace. “The car has performed well in testing, but I am looking forward to driving the car competitively. The setups provided by Lions Den Performance have really improved the car’s drivability. With confidence improving, the first round in Abu Dhabi will be the first true test for the team. It’ll take TT-R to a whole new level I feel.”

With AMF Racing in a technical alliance with TT-R, We're hoping that it will take both teams to new heights.

Trans Tasman Racing is set to be a new force in Season 7 looking at the initial pace from the test session today at Oran Park.

VisionRacer Sponsors Trans Tasman Racing!

Trans Tasman Racing's TIZZLAA has recently struck success at the New Zealand GT Academy, thanks to Tizzla advertising our site throughout all the interviews and opportunities he got, VisionRacer has decided to jump on board for TT-R as an Affiliate. This is great news for Trans Tasman Racing, clearly the team's great results throughout the GT Academy was great for the whole team.

"It's great that Trans Tasman Racing has been so successful over the past few months, GT Academy was great for us with Tizzla, Joeninety and DEVIE all making national finals. Also with the rFactor team looking good recently with 3 wins so far this season." Said Mad94d.

Soon on the Trans Tasman Racing Forum, there will be advertisement for VisionRacer somewhere on it. Trans Tasman Racing has more plans to advertise VisionRacer in places not on the site, stay posted for that. Due to needing the ads we will need to upgrade the site to "Advanced Hosting". See Blair's link for more info on how you can contribute to Trans Tasman Racing's latest oppurtunity.

TT-R Becomes Independent!

Trans Tasman Racing today released their new site. Trans Tasman Racing for the past half a year has had it's own forum, although it has been under the Freeforums.org banner. We have now taken the punt and become an independent site with our own host. This was mainly to make way for the new Affiliate sponsor of VisionRacer.

"It's great to see the team keep growing the way it has. I never really thought it would turn into anything as successful as it has so far. I thought it would be active for a few months and then die like most teams do, but to have had the amount of success in results and also an active forum is something sensational." Said Mad94d.

To check out the new site layout visit www.transtasmanracing.com

I'd also like to say thanks to supersonic88 for all his hard work in making this happen, your work on the site is much appreciated mate.

Trans Tasman Racing's New Weapons

Trans Tasman Racing Launched their new weapons today at Sebring and Le Mans Circuit. The cars have performed well so far in pre-season testing. The team are hopeful that the brand new Endurance series cars will have the pace that TT-R's cars have had in the past.

"If they go as fast as they look, I think we'll be in business. All 4 cars certainly look fantastic. Credit goes to our Paint Shop manager Blair, he's done a great job." Said Mad94d.

Trans Tasman Racing has once again stuck with the same driver combination that has been used throughout Season 7 at Adrenalin Factor. Mad94d, supersonic88, PAPAOSA and ZED_68 will once again be piloting the 4 TT-R cars.

"It has been a successful combination so far, so in this case we go with the saying, if it aint broke don't fix it." Said Mad94d

Although the TT-R traditionally has been fast, this is the team's first proper attempt at Endurance Racing apart from in the 1 race in a V8 Supercar at Bathurst.

"It is definitely something we haven't had much experience with so far, but we're confident that the team has what it takes to be consistently competitive in the inaugural AOLR season." Said Mad94d.

Trans Tasman Racing will be having their 2nd test session tomorrow night. At this test session we expect to see many other teams doing shake down runs ahead of the series start on July 10th at Sebring.

Pictures and video from the launch held at midday July 2nd.

Trans Tasman Racing Dominates
Trans Tasman Racing dominated all sessions in the newly formed Australian iRacing League at Lime Rock Park. Madison Down managed top all 3 sessions (practice, Qualifying and Race) with Blair Payton closely behind. Newly signed Troy Cox also impressed late in practice posting a 54.466.

In Qualifying Trans Tasman Racing once again was strong in the VisionRacer FG Falcon's with all three drivers posting fantastic times. Madison topped the time sheets to grab pole position with a 53.181, Blair managed to snatch second from Corey with 53.925. Troy managed to place 5th with a fantastic time of a 54.282.

Race time for Round 1 of the series... It was a TT-R front row. The red changed to green and Blair straight away covered the inside line from Corey and managed to hold onto second into turn 1. It was a dream start for TT-R with Madison leading from Blair.

Madison managed to pull away from the field and build a handy lead while Blair and Corey battled on. After being nose to tail for quite some time the mistakes began to creep in with both drivers cutting the chicane and having to slow up to avoid a penalty.

Pit stops came mid race, Blair's tyres were screwed so he pitted on Lap 30/31. Madison's held on a little bit better and pitted lap 35.

At the end of the first round, Madison crossed the line first to win by over a lap, from Corey in 2nd and Blair in 3rd. Troy finished 8th for the team on debut.

"It was a great start for the team in a new league, it's always great to start a season off with a win so hopefully it's a good omen for the rest of the season. Although it will be a tough season, there are some class drivers in the field such as Corey, Russ and Blair that will definetely be very strong."

Trans Tasman Racing has recently signed two new rising stars from Australia. Josh Muggleton and Beau Cubis will both be joining the team for Season 4 2011 on iRacing.com. Both drivers have been advancing positions towards the front of the field in the V8 Supercar Online Series by Bigpond proving that they well and truly deserve to be top split. Of course Trans Tasman RacingÂ’s roots extend back to Gran Turismo 5 Prologue and both of these new drivers were a big part of Gran Turismo 5.

Josh Muggleton an IT worker at a Sydney High School recently picked up his first V8 Supercar Online Series win in the inaugral Sebring night race. Josh also finished a strong 3rd in the Australian GT Academy National finals. There is no denying that Josh is a talented racer that will definitely fit in well with the existing drivers at Trans Tasman Racing.

Beau Cubis a newcomer to iRacing but not to sim racing also has been finishing strongly in the V8 Supercar Online Series. Beau made his debut in the series at Sebring in Season 3 (the race that Josh won) and ironically got involved in an incident with TT-R driver Madison Down. However, the official main race was much better for Beau finishing 4th on debut in top split. His recent top 5 results have proven that Beau will be a force to be reckoned with in Season 4. Like Josh, Beau is also an accomplished Gran Turismo 5 racer with hours of league racing experience with Australian league RaceOnOz.

Team admin Madison Down when asked was itching to get into Season 4 racing with the new team. “It’s always great going into a new season, but to do it with 2 new capable drivers on the team that will no doubt be fighting for podiums in Season 4 is awesome. I can’t wait for the season to kick off at Mosport with more TT-R cars on the grid!”

Over the coming days Josh and Beau will be settling into TT-R hopefully getting comfortable in the new cars for season 4! Trans Tasman Racing will be even stronger this season than ever before but the team will only grow stronger with rumours of more existing TT-R drivers looking at either returning to iRacing or purchasing iRacing. Question is, when and who will be joining nextÂ…..

Big update to the first page. Changed TT-R Logo in the opening post, added the "about us" from the website to the post and also added all the new drivers that weren't yet in this thread (however none yet have a biography written and a lot of other people's need to be updated!).
