Well, as being Gran Turismo 5, you must know Kaz better than his own wife so what you're saying might be proven true.
These were the thoughts racing through my head as I enjoyed the fabulous apple pie made by the girlfriend, in modest reserve.
Dave, there are more racing series which feature tyres with partly painted sidewalls, even yellow ones.....
I wonder which car was in 1st that entire race. Because the driver/gamer in the Spec-V was really good.
ZR1? SLR McLaren? Viper ACR?
I saw the Tuned Tuscan and its tires were much thinner than NASCAR tires. Plus the wording on them was white, not yellow.
EDIT: after watching it again, they where yellow eagles, but still far to thin. They look remarkably like the ones on the Ford GT Spec III Test car from Prologue
7:26ish officially...there are a few cars that have run faster official times at the 'Ring...He's quick, but he's not that quick...
Don't forget the GTR does the 'Ring in 7:20 ish... that's 'kin fast!
As a NASCAR fan I know what NASCAR tires looks like. That's why I was questioning you.

ZR1
Enzo
Pagani Zonda F
MC12
Viper ACR (fastest REAL production car lap) 7:22
Here is the list of games getting 3D updates so far, according to the Qore video:
Gran Turismo 5
Killzone 2
LittleBigPlanet
WipEout Fury
Super Stardust HD
Invincible Tiger: The Legend of Han
Sony said to expect to hear more announcements about other titles going 3D soon. It's worth pointing out that Gran Turismo 5 may be set for release this summer if Sony is already highlighting the game as one of its big 3D titles for when the firmware update goes live.
Sony did confirm at GDC that Gran Turismo 5 will be released this calendar year but did not specify what quarter.

The tires on the Tuscan are not even slicks, and even if they were, they doesn't necessarily need to be NASCAR tires.

More speculation from "journalists" about GT5 / 3D connection.
I'm sorry too, I realised you had already been informed after I posted.I see, sorries! I just saw the yellow lettering and the profile of them looked high to me as well so I assumed they were. Hey, next time explain yourself better!
deep_sky: actually it wasnt his gf, see
"For dessert was an apple pie baked by that girlfriend of the young mechanic."
Kaz is autosexual (as in automobile, not him self... tss)
I'm quite surprised how decidedly uneventful and serene is this footage of the fastest production car lap around the 'ring. I almost fell asleep there. I'm guessing it's down to the car being practically a racecar with a license plate?
if you want to call that a "production" car...then be my guest lol
So who has the record?
👍You know, since prologue was missing some shift animations I always suspected that it was difficult to implement. After watching the GT-R on the Ring video I must say things are looking alright...BUT, the way his thumbs go through the steering wheel is very bad...same goes for the GT-R500 where his left hand goes through the steering wheel.
I know it is difficult to achieve what they have already achieved; I simply hope they'll be able to sort this out. I know it's superficial, but hey, I think it would add somewhat to the realism if the morphing did not happen; moreso because everything else looks so darn good.
Here's hoping PD rectify this.
We're all a bit autosexual, as in automobiles, well...and, you know...ya.
I hope to God Gumpert is another new manufacturer we'll see some time soon. What a cool-looking car (Apollo). Fast as heck, too.
