Chapter 14 - Cousin, Lets Go Racing!
“Are you serious Yuka?!”
“Yeah!”
”I don’t believe some guy would randomly approach you and make such a ridiculous bet!”
“He was being mega cocky so I took advantage!”
”Still! How can he agree to such terms!”
”He was being cocky! He obviously underestimated me!”
“Yeah right!”
”I’m not lying!”
Kei got up and suddenly tackled Yuka.
”Kei!! Ow! Get off!”
“Tell me the truth or I’m going to tickle the truth out of you!”
”I am telling the truth! Don’t you dare tickle me!”
“One…”
”Kei!”
”Two…”
”Kei!!”
”Three!”
”Kei!!!”
Kei began tickling Yuka in a mad tickling frenzy. Yuka couldnÂ’t stop laughing.
“Kei!!!!!! Ahhhhhhh!!!”
Kei stopped tickling Yuka.
“You really are telling the truth, aren’t you?”
”That’s what I’ve been saying you big goof!”
“Oh Yuka!”
Kei hugged Yuka tight.
”You’re really getting me a car! Thank you so much!”
”You’re welcome Kei! Can you let me stand up now?”
”No! I must show you how grateful I am!”
“Oh you…”
“Yuka! I don’t even have a licence! I need one now!”
“How about you get off me and I’ll help you out.”
”Hmmm… Okay then!”
Kei got off and helped Yuka up.
“So what first Yuka?”
”First you go onto the internet and look for a driving school.”
”Do I have to?”
”Yes.”
“Fine… Then what are you going to do?”
“I’m going to go nap.”
“Alright then. Night Yuka.”
“Night Kei.”
Just as Yuka turned around, Kei kissed her on the cheek. Yuka started blushing.
”Oi! That’s not fair!”
”Thank you Yuka!”
“I’ll thank you Yuka your face if you ninja a kiss on me again!”
”That sounds enjoyable actually! Okay better watch out then!”

”Hehehe!”

A high stakes race was taking place on route 5.
“So when are we doing this? There’s eleven of us all waiting to go.”
”Patience man, there’s still another to arrive.”
”Aw come on man, why do we have to wait for a girl?”
”She bought in like the rest of you. I’m not being called a scammer for going back on my word.”
”Someone’s coming, is that her?”
“Maybe. She didn’t mention what car she’d be bringing.”
“Is that an R33?”
“Yeah.”
“She’s pulling in.”
“That aint a she.”
“What?”
The driver got out of the car.
”TJ?!”
”Hey fellas.”
“What you doing here? I thought you didn’t race anymore.”
”I just came to watch.”
”Well a’ight then. Nice to see you again anyway.”
”Likewise.”
”What’s with the R33 though?”
”I just finished working on it. I was giving it a test drive before I saw you guys up here.”
“Why do you need a tuned car if you just run a body shop?”
“Can’t I have a little fun?”
”I guess so, you’ve got the cash I guess.”
Another set of headlights appeared down the highway.
”This better be her.”
”Her?”
”Yeah we’re waiting on a girl to arrive before we can start.”
”I see.”
“I wonder if it’s Yuka…That doesn’t look like the Civic though…”
“What sort of car is that, TJ?”
“It’s a Corvette…”
”An American car? Here?”
“She’s pulling in.”
The girl parked up behind TJÂ’s R33 and stepped out of her car.
“Hey boys.”
The girl walked over to the group.
“She looks just like Yuka… But she doesn’t sound like Yuka.”
She eyed up TJÂ’s R33 as she walked by it.
”Who’s R33 is this?”
”Mine.”
“Nice car. We don’t get these in the US. Straight six right?”
“Yeah. You’ve got a V8 right?”
”Of course. American muscle all the way.”
“You’re from America?”
”The accent didn’t give it away?”
“I’m sorry, I mean, you brought your car here from America?”
”Yeah. Can’t leave home without it. Anyway I best go over to the other drivers, later.”
“See ya.”
The girl walked back to her car.
”By the way, I’m TJ, nice to meet you.”
“Hitomi. Nice to meet you too.”
Hitomi got back into the car and drove off down the highway.
“That’s one badass Corvette…”
“Alright, she’s ready. Lets get this party started! Five laps of the special route! Lets go!”

“Turn your headlights on you goof! You obviously cant see the huge gap you’ve left!”

“What’s the matter? Is your turbo lagging? Should’ve gone for a larger motor to suit your needs.”
“Out of the way Golfy! Make room for a proper car!”
“Sheesh it’s like a queue here!”
“Blocking me eh? Cheap move.”

“Only three more guys to pass? This race wont last five laps at all!”
“I’m not catching as quickly as I thought, this makes things interesting.”
“Main straight coming up.”
“Damn! They’re leaving me behind!”
“Lets kick it up a gear then!”
“The American girl caught up?
Hitomi kept up the pressure on the S2000 in front. Staying right behind it through the corners and straights.
“You made the same mistake that Skyline did!”
“Two to go.”
“Cant you go faster in your poor man’s R8?”
“I bet you want me up your tailpipes like this, don’t you?”
“Unfortunately for you, I’m not into that.”
“But I am into kicking your candy ass all over this highway!”
“Edging ahead…Lets show them true power!”
“Slipstreaming me? Very clever, but you wont pass me before the tunnel!”
“Crap, this guy still.”
“Corvette girl, why do you insist on trying to obtain first?”
“How the hell am I supposed to catch him if he’s cornering as fast as me?!”
“You guys aren’t helping with your constant pressure!”
“I know! Shortcut!”
“Now I get it. You cant brake as hard as I can.”
“Silly girl with your silly car, this isn’t a drift contest.”
”Damn it, understeer!”
“Saved it!”
“You return.”
“You’re not losing me here again!”

“Go!”
“You have power, but do you have the control to go with it?”
“Impressive.”
“Hell yeah!”
Hitomi kept up the pace, leaving the other competitors behind.
“Last lap!”
Hitomi stayed hard on the throttle, giving it her best despite already having a comfortable lead.
“Haha! Bit too close there!”
“Finish! Yes! More money towards the project!”
Hitomi stopped and parked up beside TJÂ’s R33 and got out, admiring the R33 beside her.

”No, nothing like that. I just wanted to know, do you know a girl called Yuka? I know it sounds wrong but you look just like her so I was wondering.”
“Lives in Gion?”
”Yeah. She lives with a friend and drives a Civic. Do you know her?”
”Know her? Of course! She’s my cousin! Our mothers were twin sisters.”
“Your cousin?!”
”I didn’t know little Yuka still had that cute little red Civic.”
”Red? She has a blue one.”
”Oh? Wow has it really been that long since I last spoke to her?”
“Want to go see her? I can take you.”
”Don’t worry, I know my way around.”
“It’s just I live in Gion too…”
”Well you’ll just have to keep up then, wont you?”
Hitomi quickly got back into her Corvette and launched it out of the parking area, pulling a huge drift and leaving TJ choking on the clouds of smoke.
“Damn she hoons more than Yuka does!”
“I cant wait to see my little cousin’s face when she sees me!”
