^ Damn it, I was just about to mention that!

So cheesey music and pointless car washes are coming too?
Noooo.
Is there going to be another poll to decide? Or is there already something chosen?

My characters are old men by now and have lost tuning wisdom! They Will turn to you!
Nope. Nothing is set in stone but I've got a general idea of what car will be used where.

So if the Civic isn't going, does that mean that it's an excuse to put the bread van back in a story? :D
I'm not gonna put it in for no reason. :P

I'm not gonna put it in for no reason. :P

I see your point but, was there any real reason for making, say, a Toyota Prius 'GTR'? So why did you do that then? :D And this is the last time I'll mention that tree-hugging piece of crap, so don't try to irritate me by painting it matte green or pink (actually, pink's fitting for that car) and putting it up as the tune picture -.-
Anyways, nice story! If you dropped out of tuning to do this, it'll be the one time I won't be on your arse telling you to get back to work :D Shame you lost interest in the one you made for GT4 though…

Yes. Are there any other Prius tunes out there? No. I'm providing a tune for the people who want a Prius tune. So there's the reason. :sly:

Because I release this weekly, there's no pressure to constantly churn out new stuff so it's quite relaxing to do. And yeah it is a shame, but it couldn't be helped really.

Was there a need for a Prius tune? No. So what was the point in making a tune for a group of people who didn't exist?
Still, if this is what you use to relax before making me blind with colour (the most recent Z and the CR-Z to name a few) and slap a smile on my face with a new tune, then it's alright. Especially when it ends up being this good 👍

Yes. Somewhere out there, there is a man who wants to drive his Prius but needs a tune for it. He may not be a GTP member but he lurks for tunes. :P Anyway this chat is probably better suited to the tuning thread. 👍

I use the prius tune!

Chapter 19 - Inbox (1)

Disclaimer: Please do not attempt to contact the e-mail addresses mentioned later on in this chapter. I made them both up and I have no idea if they’re actual e-mail addresses used by actual people. Thanks!

“I’ll give you a call once I’m home.”

Hitomi hugged Yuka tight.

“Keep safe, Yuka.”
”Don’t worry about me, you’ve got a long flight ahead of you.”
”Yeah. Well then, I better go.”

Hitomi picked up her handbag and backpack.

”I’ll see you soon, Hitomi.”
”Bye, Yuka.”

Hitomi turned around and walked through to the security checkpoint.

Two days later…

Yuka was on the phone to Hitomi, who had only just gotten back home.

“…so anyway, the plane had an engine failure and I ended up in a hotel in Germany overnight.”
“That’s terrible, Hitomi! I hope they refunded your ticket!”
”I cant get a refund. I chose a cheap airline that takes the long way home so this is the punishment I got.”
“Well at least you’re home safe.”
”Yeah. The hotel had Wi-Fi though, so instead of getting bored and wasting time sleeping, I did a little research for our adventure. I’ll e-mail it all to you later, it’s still a bit iffy right now.”
”Oh well at least you spent the time productively.”
“Mhm. Anyway Yuka, do you have three million yen laying around?”
”I guess I do… Why?”
”I figured if we both contribute three million each, we’d have six million. Which is roughly fifty-one thousand euros. It would cover the car and our accommodation and leave us some spare. Remember Yuka, this is an investment, we’ll make the money back ten-fold by the end of this.”
“Well alright then.”
”Great. Well anyway, this phone call is going to cost a bomb if I don’t hang up soon, so I’ll talk to you later Yuka.”
“See you, Hitomi.”

Kei walked in.

”So, you’re going to Europe then?”
”Yeah.”
”Oh…”
”Kei? What’s wrong?”
”It’s nothing.”
”Are you sure?”
”Well… It’s just… I’ll miss you.”
“Awwww Kei! I bet you wont anyway. You’ll be too busy trying to get your licence before I come back.”
”Maybe.”
”How about this as a deal then, if you work hard and get your licence before I get back, I’ll make TJ mod the Copen a bit so it looks just how you want it.”
”Deal! Shake on it!”

They shook hands and started giggling.

”Oh look how official we’re being Yuka!”
“Oh yes, very official!”

The giggling continued.

“Alright then Yuka, I’m feeling a bit tired now. I’ll be in bed if you need me.”
”I need to wait for Hitomi’s e-mail anyway. I’ll join you later.”
”Okay!”

Yuka logged onto the computer.

”Guess I’ll just look at funny pictures until I get the e-mail.”

Three hours later…

“You have mail!”
“Finally! Lets see…”

Yuka opened the e-mail.

“From: CorvetteGirl@hotmail.com
To: Type_R_Yuka@hotmail.co.jp
Subject: Europe Trip Baby!

Hey Yuka! Hope you didn’t have to wait long for this. Here’s pretty much everything there is to know about this Europe trip of ours. I’ve broken down our budget so we know roughly how much we can spend.

Our budget: €51,000 (Approx. 6,000,000 Yen)
Hotels and living essentials: €2,000
Luxuries: €1,000
Car budget: €48,000

Here are all the races that’ll be going on during our trip. I can’t get any info about prizes or who we’ll be racing, but there’s plenty of races going on at least.

Rome Circuit

Tous France Championnat
Circuit de la Sarthe

There’s obviously a few we cant enter and a few that there’s no point entering, but I think if we start with the French races then slowly move across, we’ll be in a good position when it comes to trading in cars. As for the cars themselves, thanks to our budget, the starting choices are very limited. I’ve made a list of all the decent choices. The prices are all rough guides and I didn’t have the time to add any images so you’ll have to look them up yourself.

Alfa Romeo 147 ’06 - €31,400
BMW Z3 ’03 - €38,600
Citroen C4 ’05 - €31,900
Fiat 500 F ’68 - €20,770
Fiat 500 ’08 - €23,300
Lotus Elise ’96 - €37,600
Mini Cooper S ‘05 - €28,500
Mini Cooper S ’07 - €29,500
Peugeot 207 GTI ’07 - €32,000
Peugeot 307 CC ’04 - €43,260
Renault Clio V6 - €45,500
Renault Megane ’08 - €41,000
Volkswagen Golf GTI ’01 - €31,500
Volkswagen Golf GTI ’05 - €32,750
Volvo C30 - €42,000

That’s pretty much it for now. I’ll let you know if anything else comes up. Oh and don’t worry about the plane tickets, I’ll take care of it. Be ready to fly sometime next week!

Hitomi <3”

Yuka glanced over the e-mail several times before turning the computer off. She got up and walked into the bedroom, making sure she didn’t wake up Kei as she got into bed.

“Oh Hitomi, what have you dragged me into…”

Meanwhile, at Dave’s house…

Frank was having trouble getting through to Dave’s phone.

“Come on Dave, pick up the phone…”

Frank redialled Dave’s number.

”Damn it Dave, pick up!”

Meanwhile, on route 7…

Pick the Elise, it's the best of the bunch.

Nice chapter. 👍

Just a message to Yuka, DON'T get the 307 CC. It's got 4 crappy gears and it's so sluggish when I test drove it.

Great chapter, as usual.
It'll be nice too see the races in the next chapters.
And yeah, don't get the 307, it's slow, really slow.

^ And yet both Hiroto and Miyu have beaten European drivers. :P

Goddamn, after reading that bit about Yuka and Kei I had to keep thinking of Anne Widdecombe!

Dear God no..

Once I've finished my exams, I'm going to start writing my own story, but is there anyone who reads this who would be willing to give mine a try? I wouldn't want to write it without anyone wanting to read it ;) It would probably be a little text heavier than Roj's, with pictures to assist in the setting rather than advance the narrative.

Oh and great chapter :) but that kinda goes without saying now I guess ;)

Just imagine what she could do with a Fiat 500 '68!

Curse everything and everyone. Remember her reactions to the Vitz?

Thanks for all the car suggestions guys. I'm not holding a public vote but I may use some suggestions if I feel they fit. :)

Chapter 20 - Goodbye Everyone!

Cooper was at work, attempting to sell a well-used March to a young woman.

“Skipping all the technical jargon, it’s perfect for a young lady like yourself. It gets around 500 kilometres on a full take of fuel if you just drive normally around the city.”
“But it has driven over 200,000 kilometres. My boyfriend told me not to get such a high mileage car.”
”Ah but that’s the wonders of Nissan’s build quality! It may have 200,000 kilometres on it but it still goes like it just passed 20,000!”
“I’m not sure, I’ll have to come back with my boyfriend.”
“Well how about a Vitz?”
”I need to go now, thank you.”
”Well, okay. See you.”

The woman walked off, just as Yuka walked onto the lot.

“Is that…? Yuka! Hey Yuka!”

Cooper ran over to Yuka.

”Hey Cooper. What’s up?”
”The usual, I can’t sell that damn March.”
”The high miler?”
”Yeah. No matter what I do, no one will buy it.”
“Well there are better cars for the money.”
“See! That’s why I cant shift it!”
”Sell it for less then.”
”I can’t. It was an auction buy that we’re trying to profit on.”
”Oh. Well best of luck to you.”
”Yeah, I need it. So what about you, Yuka?”
”I’ve come to say goodbye.”
”Goodbye?! Where are you going?”
”Europe. Me and my cousin are going to take down some European drivers.”
“You’re coming back though, right?”
”Yeah, I just don’t know when.”
”Ah. Well best of luck to you too!”
”Thanks! Anyway I need to make this quick, Kei’s waiting back home for me. She’s got some surprise for me.”
”I see. Well then, I’ll make sure I keep an ear out for news of a couple of Japanese girls taking Europe down single-handedly.”
”Haha! I’d be amazed if we got that famous. Anyway, I’ll see you around, Cooper.”
”Yeah, laters.”

Yuka went on inside the building to say her goodbyes.

Later on…

“Kei, I’m back!”
”Yuka! Just in time!”

Kei ran at Yuka with a blindfold.

”Wear this!”
”Okay…”

Kei blindfolded Yuka and guided her into the kitchen.

”Okay on three, you can take it off. One… Two… Three!”

Yuka removed the blindfold and saw Kei’s surprise in front of her on the table.

”Oh my… Kei!”
”Do you like it?”
”I love it!”

In front of Yuka was a cake, covered in blue icing to resemble the Civic.

”I thought you would! Do you want to cut it?”
”No, wait.”
“For what?”

Yuka ran out of the kitchen, then ran back in with a camera.

”Oh!”
”Sit and pose with the cake.”
”Shouldn’t you be the one posing?”
”We’ll take turns.”

Kei posed with the cake whilst Yuka took pictures.

”Your turn!”

They switched places and continued taking pictures.

”Okay then Yuka, let me set the timer and we’ll take a few pictures together.”

Kei set the camera on the opposite table and sat with Yuka. The camera took pictures every few seconds, allowing Yuka and Kei to switch poses between shots.

“Okay Yuka, one last shot.”
”What pose is there left to do?”

Kei pouted her lips at Yuka.

”This one!”
”Kei! You can’t photograph us kissing!”
”Why not? Lots of couples do it. Besides it’s not like we’re taking nudes and putting them on Facebook now, is it?”
”Well alright… Just don’t get too touchy…”

One week later…

“Thanks for taking me to the airport.”
“You’re welcome Yuka.”

RSG-0527.jpg

“Even though you’ve changed the R33 a lot, it still feels the same as when I had it, TJ.”

RSG-0526.jpg

“Yeah, well. You have a good feel for handling, so I trust your settings.”
“Haha, really?”
”Really. Even that Dave guy said the Vitz felt better to drive after you tweaked it.”
”Tweaked the Vitz? I just let some air out of the front tyres. You over inflated them.”
”Only to get better fuel consumption. Your idea of over inflated is everyone else’s idea of normal. You traction whore.”
“Traction whore? Says the guy in the Skyline!”
”It used to be your Skyline!”
”Yeah but I drifted it like a boss.”

Yuka made a smug face at TJ.

”Alright, alright. You win Yuka.”

They finally reached the airport.

“Well, this is it. Thanks for the ride.”

Yuka got out and retrieved her suitcase out from the boot of the R33.

”Have you packed enough?”
”I think I have. It’s mostly clothes anyway.”
”Shame you don’t have room for the Civic.”
”Well it wouldn’t matter if I did, the whole point is to take them on with their own cars.”
”Ah. I see. Well the Civic is safely tucked in the back of my shop. I’ll give it weekly cruises just so it’s not wasting away.”
”Thanks TJ. Well, I’m off then. See you!”
”Bye Yuka, have fun!”

Did Kei have any other surprises waiting for Yuka? :sly:

Goodbye, Japan.

Hello, the land of vast opportunities.

And a silver haired chick that procrastinates every now and then.
