is gt2 really the best

Lately I am playing GT2 with gameshark code to make the car handle like in GT4 :P.

I hate GT4 for understeer and snappy DS2. Love the visual :).

My favourite would have to be Gran Turismo 2. Next would be the original Gran Turismo. Even though i've got a copy of Gran Turismo 4, I can't play it since I don't have a memory card.

Gran Turismo 2 has excellent gameplay, although some may argue that it has a somewhat exessive amount of unnesscary vehicles. After all, who wants to race a Diahatshu Midget anyway? However, graphics have been left virtually unchanged from the original and sound is boring and repetitive. Boasting tons of tracks, rally driving, 500 cars, and race modifications, in terms of overall racing content and gameplay, Gran Turismo 2 is clearly the winner. The game is alot easier than the original Gran Turismo, particularly the liscense tests. Lacking in sound and overall innovation, Gran Turismo 2 may have been the victim of hurried development and the rush to get the game onto store shelves as quickly as possible.

IMO, GT2 is good, but I think it could be better. I would never say It is the best. I don't like the rally physics at all. I think GT5 will be THE best Gran Turismo.

Well, technically speaking, each installment of the Gran Turismo series have their ups and downs. It depends on how they affect the player's opinions though.

And trust me, there are probably almost a million players in the world.

That's what I keep saying! They all have things the others lack. Like in GT1 for instance...you have the convenience of tuning your car IN your garage. Can you do this in GT2? Nooooo Can you do this in GT3? Nooooooooo! You have to go all the way to Machine Testing (in 2) or Run & Setting (in GT3) just to tune your vehicle.

I should make a list of all the “ups and downs” from game to game...

You can do it in GT4 (this is a teaser :) ).

I'm nowhere near to completing GT3 yet! I'm about halfway thru the Amateurs on 3 of my games, and the 4th one has pretty much finished the beginners. Of course you know I do several games at once to try as many cars as possible and see how far each one can go.

I prefer the "Run & Setings" in GT3 to the garage tuning in GT4. Makes it easier to tell if you screwed something up or not.

See I like the convenience of tuning anytime, whether it be in the garage (to see how much power it was capable of without having to wait thru a bunch of menu changes) or on a track somewhere. In GT2 it sucked when you tried to enter your car in a race and it would say “your car has too much power”. then you gotta go all the way back....to machine tests.....

Oh, here we go with the "unecessary car" comments... GT2 had cars that at least one person can appreciate or love. Do I really have to delve into accepting all cars for what they are? People even say GT2 had the right idea- especially for American car lovers. A number of cars not in GT4 were likely in this game, including the Dodge Challenger.

I'm still not convinced in saying that GT2 is the best in the series. My favorite GT is a tie between GT1 and GT4. GT1 was simply the best GT on the PS1 even with all GT2 had to offer. That's my story, and I'm sticking to it.

For me drive feel is more important, and since I can make GT2 drive like GT4 does now, I love GT2 more. I hate GT1 for car turning it self on curb. I hate GT4 for it's ultra smooth road.

yes gt2 is the best cuz of the style the feel the handling the racing mods the bugs the insanity and.... sniff*sniff* I LOVE YOU, GT2!!!!
