It looks beautiful and because its based on the Dirt engine it wont look * like Pro Street did on PS3 but seriously why are they going away from proper racing, this looks so much like PS / PGR its untrue, they even have those stupid balloon thingys!

Will have to see how this pans out, the last one I bought was Race Driver 1 and that was and still is excellent (the AI and damage is brilliant).

So I guess its official then that in the UK it wont be sold under the Toca name?

Robin.

I guess they know they cant compete in terms of sales with Forza and Gran Turismo so they add a twist to the game to make it not like those two. Did they forget neither game has competition on the same platform? They should have evolved what they had already. I'll get it regardless.

What I'm really hoping for is Le Mans (the full race) with a large grid, realistic tyre wear/fuel usage, day and night, random weather and the ability to save in the pits.

All that I already got in the old (2000) "Le Mans 24 Hours", so I want also better physics (better graphics I take for granted).

If GRID has this, I'll buy the PS3 this summer just to play it. If not, I'll buy it (the PS3) maybe next Christmas to play GT5:P, or next year, when GT5 gets released (will it be next year?).

If it hasn't I won't probably buy this game. It's maybe too soon to judge, but I think they (Codemasters) are after a gaming audience where I don't belong, considering they took out DTM, V8 Supercars and many other disciplines, and included ... Drift races ... meh

graphics are fine but I'm not surprised because this is what codemasters usually does.
what about the gameplay? if they are doing another simulation failure arcade game this time they will lose big time!

It does say actual gameplay footage....idk but I know I'm excited!

I guess we'll just have to wait for a demo and full review to see how it turns out.
On top of GT5p, this will be a great alternative until the entire GT5 comes out!

This summer I will be too busy playing racing games 👍
Codemaster did a decent job on Race driver 3
hope they can keep up with the quality

Looks good, I might well be preordering this soon, I loved Race Driver 3 and need a new "proper" racing car game. Excluding GT5P....

Does anyone know if there is an official car list to find anywhere? But anyway if this game is like NFS Prostreet than Codemasters can close dowm and never ever make a game again. Because i think everybody can agree that Prostreet is basically the worst game that includes cars since the dawn of time. And codemasters would not make that mistake

Yeah I can agree with that. Although why does everyone keep comparing this with Prostreet? There (hopefully) from what I have seen they look completely different, one has proper racing in one has ricer's in....

i really want this game after seeing the last video. i only have one problem with the game, you don't get to tune the cars, the only thing that you get to do is change the livery and drive the car. i was hoping that it would be more like forza where you got to choose the parts for you car. i'll still buy the game though.

I guess grid will have a modified Dirt graphics and a little improved gameplay. nothing more.

I think this is the best game ever been created by codemasters.

I agree with you hemisport, even I'd like option to setup and tune your car, but in a way the developers are right, they want to keep this game simple and completely different from Forza and GT. Which I think is great. I mean the approach.

From what I've read, this will have the massive options and structure like Forza / GT and gameplay a little bit like PGR and NFS-ish (and by NFS I mean the mid series NFS games, which werent great but they werent pathetic either).

Although I'd like to know, if anybody has heard of more features? Like it says, it has 24 hour leman races, but is the time change dynamic? What about tyre wear, weather and pits?

I played this at play.com live, and i will say i came back a little disapointing in this one. The screens you see on sites, don't really match up with what they are in reality, think slighty better than burnout and you have GRID's visuals. Also the game does handle in a very arcadey way, which is a let down considering i thought this was going to be more of a SIM.

Never really played NFS Prostreet, but did follow it a bit. Specially after knowing Porsche was helping them with the physics, but in all the promos that I saw of the game before the game's release, I never really liked it. Not a single trailer made me think, hmm.. this is gonna be different (yet everytime hoping that when the game comes out it'll make my thinking about it, wrong). But seeing the reviews and random videos it never impressed me, infact it was just plain funny how the game actually turned out. Tried the demo on XBL and hated it to the core, so deleted it after one go.

But all the trailers and I have seen yet for GRID look really promising and I can already see a score of 8.0+ from GameSpot, GiantBomb, etc. (Probably IGN might give it more, lol, coz they're idiots at times). And considering the fact that NFS ProStreet got 6.5 or something, a score of 8 for this kinda game would be kick ass.

So my guess is, this wont be a Forza or a GT, but it sure as hell wont be a ProStreet. Think of it as a PGR (fun factor), with GT-Forza-esque structure and well Dirt like physics (which may not be a compliment).

I just saw X-play (don't know if it was a rerun) and they had a segment on GRID the guy they interviewed said it was "a cross between a sim and an arcade". The clips that I saw looked like something from DiRT. I'm skeptical now and no I don't think it will be a Forza and definitely not a GT. Might be a little less of a fail than NFS: PS was. We'll see...

I saw a single seater in one of the trailers. Do you think there will be F1 challenges or the like? If there isnt I'm buying bloody RFactor and a saitek R440 on the spot.

As long as it looks like Dirt, I dont have a problem with it. But from the video it looks like even the physics are pretty close to what Dirt had, which kinda sucks! Never really liked the way, cars handled in Dirt.

@-Alex - I doubt there'd be F1 Challenges in the game.. Open Wheel Races, sure.. But no Formula1..
