Dude!!
GRID, GTAIV, COD4, R6V2 are all on "other" consoles too! lol

Ahhh yeah but hey there also on my console.....which was not the case last year with alot of the big third party titles! And hey I don't have to pay for the privalige of playing them online....Now I really am sounding like a fanboy! Please feel free to post pictures of mass effect and bring me back down to earth again......Did I forget MGS?:dopey:

"Great job Codemasters?" Do you mean this in a positive light or a negative light, KSaiyu?

Aye, a negative one. It looks like it's based too much on the DiRT engine, which may be fun for some but I feel personally is a step down from their PSX/PS2 games.

Should contrast nicely with GT5P.

And by contrast nicely, I mean that despite lacking the strictness of exact simulation, it still requires skill. You can't just stomp on the gas and wave the turn-stick around like some games...

Well it's been delayed........to the 30/5/08 !!!! slight problem with this avoidance of releasing it the same week as GTA IV, it's now going head to head with Haze....Ok so that shouldn't be too bad considering it's a diferent genere.....But! and it's a biggy! the week after whats coming out? yep, ferrari challenge! I think this will be a bit of a bad move on codemasters part, yeah releaseing it the same week as GTA IV was not good, whatever PR you have running is going to be swamped but to then move it into direct contention with Ferrari challenge AND Haze! Lets hope theres a demo out as I'm leaning towards FC over Grid at the moment, not a problem with over a month between them but a week! That is unless FC gets delayed....again LOL

So, is the download available as of today? I'd like to read in-depth reviews from GTP members, if that's not asking too much ... :dopey:

I just looked in both the US and the UK PS stores and didn't see it. It's 4:30a.m. here... 👎

It unlikely to hit the UK store before 4pm (UK time) as most updates are done after this time.

Personally I'm looking forward to this one (not expecting a sim but a good 'simcade' racer), so will post my thought up as soon as I can, which will most likely be tomorrow morning.

Regards

Scaff

It's actually rather impressive. Plus, the element which I thought would be the worst (the drifting) is actually alright. I'll give a better review later. Still playing at the moment. :P

They have too much grip? What the hell are you playing? I struggled to keep the BMW going in a straight line.

Much better than expected, and I wasnt really expecting much so, all in all pretty good.

thats only for low speed corners and hairpins. then and only then will you risk a chance of spinning out. also try the mustang race

I have to say, its on my "To Buy List" now. I really didn't expect what it gave me, I just thought it would be a redone version of DiRT, but it seems as though they made some pretty cool changes. The damage system rocks, if you have a play online (which is much better than DiRT's system, IMO) in online at the moment there are some real idiots buts thats great means you can test the damage well from them bashing into you. It basically uses a modified version of DiRT's damage presumably to show damage from cars impacting you rather than tree's. The drifting is a lot better than what I expected! It feels and looks much better than in the intro/trailer for grid where the cars looked stale and motionless. The replays are awesome, but then again they follow the same format as DiRT's which were pretty cool as well. This game has some promise left in it, it may not still be a TRD3 but its still pretty cool.

Also, in time trials am I correct in saying that it says you can win a 3 Series BMW? Or is this me?

ok, you guys got me interested ... now I have two good reasons to buy the PS3. Pity one is a Prologue and the other one a demo ... :dopey:

right there is a compertition towin a BMW £20ks worth, time trials is the place but check IGN's site for details, I'd look my self but the download is about 1 min from finishing so I'm going playing it! Didn't realise the demo was online as well, cheers for the heads up, I was a bit off put by those vids as well but I was going to get it anyway....looks like this is going to be a heavy racing season with grid and ferrari challenge on the horizon, 3 weeks till grid release isn't it?

It's alright but the handling is way too twitchy. I can't get the cars to drive straight with my DFP and with the pad you turn into a low speed corner and the car flicks round into inside barrier or infield faster than you can think "oh turd".

I just approached the handling as an arcade game, didnt try to expect a sim. I love the damage and crashes, the tyre walls break up nice and realistically, and if you have a race ending crash, it tells you impact speed and G force of the crash and stuff, pretty cool. I love the personal touch as well "Well done Ashley, new personal best", "Hello Ashley, welcome to Race driver grid".

👍
