Trophies - Rank Them (Difficulty, Design, etc)

The hardest trophy I've gotten would be 'For the Motherland' which is obtained by beating the hardest mission in Call of Duty: World At War on the hardest difficulty . Poor AI programming turn what could've been an exciting tactical firefight into a frustrating 'close your eyes and hope the enemies don't throw half a dozen grenades EXACTLY on your position forcing you to leave cover and subsequently get shot' kind of fight. Checkpoints are terribly unbalanced too. CoD:WaW is a wonderful game, but some AI tweaking would of made Veteran difficulty much more enjoyable.

Probably took 6 or 7 hours over a couple of nights to attain this Bronze.

Speaking of hard trophies, I finally earned my frist Gold trophy for LBP:

TROP045.PNG

Play

"Complete all story levels without dying, with the exception of those levels that only end when you die"

There were a few really brutal sections. The giant "death wheel" as I like to call it near the end of "The Bunker" level in "The Wilderness" story was particularly challenging... mad worse by the fact that it is at the end of the level so if, or should I say when you die, and restart the level in order to try again for the Ace achievement, you have to do everything else in that level all over again. :ouch:

Also, I didn't realize you also had to "Ace" all the mini-levels as well (at least the ones that you can finish without dying). I had Aced all the main story levels, and didn't get a trophy so that's when I found out I also had to Ace the mini ones as well. :ouch:

Fortunately most of the mini levels are super easy to ace. One big exception though was the Fire Pits mini-level in "The Temples". I think that was the one at least. All I know is you have to do two loops around this very tricky course, and if you really have to have your timing down just right to get through it all. :nervous:

The other LBP trophy I earned today (thanks to the help of FoolKiller and couple other friends) was the silver for Booty Master

TROP040.PNG

"Collect all the prize bubbles on the story levels"

This was very challenging, and especially time consuming, and really deserved to be a Gold trophy, and not Silver. :ouch:

It also requires you to sucessfully complete the various multi-player co-op sections, two of which I still needed to finish and with FK and my other two friends help, we were able to complete them. 👍

At this point, I think all I need now to get the Platinum for LBP is to publish some cool levels and play a lot of community levels. 👍

Wrong thread.

But to stay on topic, I got my first Brain Challenge trophy. Now I just need to play that when I'm not tired.

OMGWTFBBQ

I just got this gold trophy for finishing Resistance 2 on Superhuman difficulty. It's one of the '???' trophies so the name was a pleasant surprise.

DeadSpace only has two hard Trophies that are not simple and u need a game save at that point. they are both hidden, you have to beat the slug boss and the ASD with 50% or more shield remaining. I got 30% and oh 4% when i tried it.
I have most of the Trophies. Just got to keep playing after you've finished it. its worth playing through again so u can see how easy the game is once you know where the monsters are and how to kill em quick. The last boss is very easy. DLC and the cheats dont effect trophies.

So, if I downloaded the Obsidian suit I could use it on a new game? Because I downloaded that suit when it was free (still haven't actually played the game yet)

yes, its going to be there for any game. you just have to get it from the store, that is at the end of chapter 1. I did not get it when it was free, i got the one with the 3 Black guns.

The only game I have at the moment with trophy compatibility is LittleBigPlanet. The trophies in LittleBigPlanet are pretty hard to acquire (for me that is!).

So, until I get any new games with trophy support, I would have to say the trophies in LittleBigPlanet are the hardest for me. :)

Some of the Trophys in Ferrari Challenge are easy enough to unlock. But the trophy for "Legend" Level in arcade mode,Very Tough. Then theres the platinum trophy for unlocking ALL trophys.

J-PaP has it. :)

Anywho, the single hardest trophy I've obtained would be getting 50 stars in Time Trial mode in Mirror's Edge. Dayumn. Even harder (certainly more time consuming) than 'For The Motherland', from earlier in the thread:

I'm probably the only person who actually bothered to get the platinum lol.

Tip: use one of the faster cars than the f430 to do arcade mode. I couldn't do legend difficulty with the f430.

I think easiest car to use is the f333

With mirrors edge, you may find that chapter 2 speedrun is probably harder than getting 50 stars in time trial

Do we have to get the new trophies that are coming out to get the platinum? I'm not after a star rating of 90 in the new time trials!

DLC is never required for Platinum trophies. BioShock, Burnout Paradise, LBP, and Warhawk have DLC that isn't required for platinum.

Magic Ball - easiest. trophies. ever....ever.

Honestly, I think that if you took the time to play from level 1-1 to level 2-24 in one sitting you could get them all.

I downloaded the trailer and it was more than I expected. It the game itself fun? I might pick it up after I play some games I haven't played much (Crash Commando, GTI Club, Blast Factor)

If you like Breakout style games, like Araknoid or Block Breaker (Ice Breaker in Home) then yes. There are a few design choices that I question and others that I see the brilliance in.

It honestly is impossible to actually lose if you don't want to as any time you run out of lives you have a try again option that resets your level with the same lives and score you had when you started. It also has good pick up and play, even if you are on a roll, as you can quit from the pause menu and then Continue Game from the main menu later.

Due to its simplicty I can see it not being fun for some, and some levels are so painstakingly difficult that on your third Try Again you are cussing. But if you like the gameplay it is fun and even has a touch of cartoonish comedic value.

Most difficult

'Beat Zico' (Wipeout HD) is the hardest trophy in any game off the top of my head. (maybe Warhawk platinum...) For those who don't know, 'Zico' is the first name of one of the developers of Wipeout HD. Basically, you have to beat his best time around a certain track in a certain vehicle. There is literally ZERO margin for error. My friend got it, he's way good and it took him six 99 lap runs (99 is the limit) and got it on lap 81 of his seventh run. Absolutely ridiculous.

Zone Master (not sure on the name) (Wipeout HD) Reach Zone 75 in zones.

Airbraker (Wipeout HD) Reach zone 50 (subsonic) using only the airbrakes for steering. Somehow jamez (G.T) got this.
Exactly, WipEout HD is for me the most difficult game when talking about it's trophies. But that game is game at it's finest, everybody should play it. For the Airbraker one, I should say it was not so difficult for me, I won it time ago with a few tryies, I suggest you to set your R2 & L2 sensitivity to the less percent possible. Beat Zico is difficult... but I was 0'40 seconds far from it on my first 20 laps that I did to test it, so I'm thinkin' about getting it one day. Unfortunately, trophies like Zone Master or the one for the 16 perfect arcade races in GOLD at ELITE mode, are the really really hard in my opinion. Those last 3 ones are for example the ones that I need to get the Platinum trophy u_u

There's another game for me that has quite difficult trophies (not the most), but it's strange because even if they're hard to get, their value is ridiculous. I'm talking about PixelJunk Eden, it's a 10/10 game in my opinion, I love it until the bones, it's a pice of art. Let's say 35% of the trophies from that game are hard, but they are bronze !!. In fact, all of the trophies for that game are bronze except for a silver one. That game should have more than one gold, seriously... (like the All Seeds into the 7th Garden, which has 4 kinds of gravity directions...). The day I did get the 100% of the trophies for that game I couldn't believe it, it was quite hard.. and now I see that WipEout HD is even harder >_<

This was also the most challenging trophy in this game... bloody difficult! :ouch:

The only other trophy from Buzz that I found challenging was the gold "Barnard Award" trophy:

TROP013.PNG

To earn this you must score over 5,000 points in a singleplayer game. The problem is there are only 18 questions in a singleplayer game, and it would take a minor miracle to get 17 of them answered correctly and in just .5 of a second... which is what you would need to get 5,000 points and still get one question wrong. So basically you need to not only answer each of the 18 questions correctly, but you also have to answer each one on average in less than two seconds!
I'm trying to get those 2 ones by the way. I bought the game 4 days ago, and it's a great game, quite funny. I've the same opinion than you, those 2 ones are (by now) the ones that I know as hard ones.

klondike
I have a few games with trohpies. I havent been pursuing them so much though, as I recently got into a nostalgia trip and is playing FF7 atm.
That's the best you could do in your life as gamer. FF VII is a legend. Give that WipEout HD you bought, a try, it's a nice one.

Hereward
For me the hardest ones are the trophy mode on pixle junk monsters..........not got one yet but I've tried....oh how I've tried LOL
Yeah I've heard that game from PixelJunk also have huge difficulty. Seems to be that all the 3 games released by PixelJunk are hard, in fact, they have released an "easy patch" for PixelJunk Monsters and PixelJunk Eden time ago, because of that. But the trophy only makes the game easy but not the trophy goals. That's fair by the way for the ones who reached to the trophies before.

I think that the game with most easy trophies I've, is GTI Club+...

SOCOM, by far, has some of the most challenging trophies E-V-E-R (only 37)! They take so much time! It does have a platinum though, which is a plus.

For example:

Stealth Medal - BRONZE
5 consecutive kills without taking damage; 25 kills with suppressed assault rifle; 15 kills with suppressed pistol; 20 kills with suppressed SMG; 20 kills with suppressed sniper rifle.

Assault Rifle - 3rd Class - BRONZE
250 assault rifle kills; 5 assault rifle kills with 15% accuracy in one game; 25 kills with 4 different assault rifles.

Legion of Merit Medal - GOLD
50 mvp awards; 5000 kills; 250 headshots; 500 games on winning side; extract 150 hostages; plant 100 bombs; capture 125 control points; eliminate 125 vips; silver star (SILVER); military cross (SILVER); gallantry medal (SILVER); all service medals (4 BRONZE, 4 SILVER); all weapon specialties elite (6 SILVER).

The Weapon Specialties Elite Trophies are some of the MOST challenging Silvers I have every tried to achieve!

For example:

Assault rifle - elite - SILVER
1000 assault rifle kills; 10 assault rifle kills with 25% accuracy in one game; 75 kills with 7 different assault rifles.

Pistol - elite - SILVER
150 pistol kills; 35 pistol headshots 6 pistol kills with 25% accuracy in one game; 20 kills with 5 different pistols.

SMG - elite - SILVER
1000 SMG kills; 125 SMG headshots; 10 SMG kills with 25% accuracy in one game; 75 kills with 5 different SMGs; 4 SMG headshots in one game.

Sniper rifle - elite - SILVER
350 sniper rifle kills; 75 sniper rifle headshots; 6 sniper rifle kills with 90% accuracy in one game; 60 kills with 3 different sniper rifles.

Shotgun - elite - SILVER
250 shotgun kills; 60 shotgun headshots; 8 shotgun kills in one game; 60 kills with 3 different shotguns.

Machine Gun - elite - SILVER
250 MG kills; 75 MG headshots; 8 MG kills in one game; 60 kills with 3 different MGs.

To get Gold Trophy mentioned: You have to have those 6 Elite Silvers, the other 8 mentioned, AND all other of the achievements mentioned under the description, to get only ONE gold trophy. Note: 1 Game consists of 8 rounds, which are 6 minutes each. So, total possible time for only ONE game is 48 MINUTES!

SOCOM is amazing, but the trophies have entered a new stage of difficulty!

Well, after playing GTI Club+ a bit over the weekend and getting all but three available single player trophies I can say that I will rank it a close second to Magic Ball in easiness. That photo finish will be a toughie, and I haven't gone after the hard races yet, but I have done free runs to find the shortest route. Once I get used to running it I shoudl eb able to pull off the gold Speed Demon trophy.

I noticed last night that D-N got 100% on Magic Ball over the weekend.

I just updated the list to include all these new Platinum trophies:

Hey I finally got all the trophies in Magic ball. Still haven't touched Bioshock nor havve i played anymore Fallout 3. Far Cry has me hooked right now even though the trophies are coming slow plus platinum isn't going to happen with its multiplayer trophies.

I've been playing a little bit of Battle Field as well. LVL 6.45. I'm still a bit behind Foolkiller.

Since then I have unlocked all the arcade including legend, using the 333 wasnt too hard. Thanks for the info.

I recently got all trophies for Prince of Persia and Burnout Paradise, so now I have 3 platinums. I still haven't finished BioShock on Survivor yet, but I'm getting close.

After I'm done with them, I have the online trophies for GTA4 and Quantum of Solace to get, but I'll probably be playing KillZone 2 instead of getting them. :)
