If they want to make 6 for this gen, then I think they could do it quicker...
Yeah, if it is 5 years----> I expect it to be a ps4 title :) What could they possibly improve for GT6? *skidmarks, trees perhaps* hahaha
Dont say PS4, i waited like 2 years to get a PS3 at a reasonable price, so if 4 is out 2012-13 then 2015 will be seeing it at a decent price, :censor: that.

Also i hope 3DTV goes the way of the Virtual Boy, banned banned banned for health issues.

All this 3D and Move and Kinect etcetera.. It's just companies wanting to get more money...

I mean we have just got used to HI DEF nevermind 3D now trying to take over.

Well, since they didn't even finish GT5, I won't buy any guess on the necessary time to develop GT6, since it will probably use GT5 as a platform the development time can't go far beyond three years, plenty of time to correct things, add content, and please PD: Hire More People!

You can't develop a game without people, no matter on how much tech do you have at your disposal, human capital is what makes the difference, add quantity to the already existing PD quality and we'll have more content and features in less time.

Correct, but i think that the "5 years for GT6 was mentioned on the article from OPM, wasn't it? Even so I hope they're wrong

Kaz's response to interviewers that have asked about the release date, delays, or commented on the developing time, has been similiar each time.. He explains how because they biult the game from the ground up (Completely deleting the past code) with a brand new physics engine, it has taken longer (Not to mention they're using a new system), and that we can see GT6 being run on the same platform (not to be confused with console 'Platform'), therefore making it much shorter time to make.

GT5 was a base, Sony has said that they don't want to enter the next gen until the PS3's expected 10 year lifetime is completely up (2016), so There would be no reason why PD would want to wait for next gen (Because, they want to make money, by producing more games), and there is also no reason sony would want to push PD to make it on next gen either (Because, they themselves think its way too early for next gen, and they predict a 10 year lifespan). Also, PD couldn't start the 5 year development time now (For posters here Supposed 2013 release of a PS4) because there is no PS4 yet, Sony has no plans to start designing it either, they are just looking into it. So PD could probably start developing on the PS3 and hope that they are able to port it over to a system they don't even know how will work yet,the PS4. GT5 was a base, and GT6 will come much sooner. People have to listen to the reasons why it took so long, It couldn't have just been content, It was certainly however a new code, and new physics engine (Which has been confirmed by Kaz, so, I don't even know why people 'Wonder' Why it took so long, when theres already statements regarding it)

The last time I play GT5 Prologue it already have 180º rotation, 90º to the left and 90º to the right, no??

I meant 180º to the left and 180º to the right :D

that could be possible i think, and no arms going through each other. 👍

but you really need to stop double posting.

Can you read what i said?

Yeah, 360 steering would be 100% better than just 180 degrees.

Hmmm, this got me thinking about using a wheel ( I'm not, just using a pad ) and not very knowledgable about it and not sure it's even technically possible either or indeed the correct thread to discuss it.

But since this is a GT5 thread, a game which includes a lot of classic cars I was wondering if some ( who use a wheel or planning to or just interested ) would like a wheel set-up were it could be possible to change the actual wheel itself depending on car type ( one set-up with different optional wheels ).

The steering wheels currently available are basically small contemporary racing car style steering wheels which is perhaps the most logical choice 90% of the time but I thought it could be fun to have 1 or 2 other options as well with the same hardware which would be more suitable whilst driving the other types of cars GT5 offers ( the majority being normal cars which include a few classics ).

Maybe just me, but the thought of driving those classics with a large thinly rimmed classically styled steering wheel sounds appealing to me.
Or maybe it's already done or entirely impossible to do or just a rubbish idea in the first place.:)

Thank you sir nice post. Don't get me wrong i love the cockpit view and believe we will get them for the standard cars, however if we don't get them I am mature enough to get over it, and enjoy the full product. Like I said GT5 will be the best racing game for years on a console. 👍
I don't believe standard cars will get a cockpit view and I have already gotten over it. :sly:

Well, as much as I secretly refuse to accept the truth, it's just before our eyes. But none of this really matter, I'm eagerly waiting to see all the new events that GT mode..erh... GT Life brings, what about a 950PP LMP - Group C 4 hour enduro at La Sarthe, with day to night transition, pit stops and 16 cars in the grid, online? :D

Seriously, this game is going to be awesome, I won't have time to play anything else until June 2011.

I have said over and over, if PD just realeased GT4 with twice the tracks, 1000+ cars, improved physics (GT4's biggest flaw), and improved graphics, I would be perfectly saited... Cockpits be damned. Don't get me wrong, the cockpit view is a fine addition to the series. It's hardly necessary, however.

We're getting a fully HD Gran Turismo game with over 1000 cars, new tracks, new series, and new features. It's hard to see how people can still find things to complain about.
;)

Indeed sir. Especially when the game isn't even out yet, nor have the full details of GT5 been disclosed.

Even though I am going to repeat myself for the 3rd time this week, I am going to say it.

GTPlanet needs a culture change.:ouch:

it is true. In fact, all this arguing and complaining has gotten boring. Wake me up after GamesCom in August when we'll have something descent to talk about.

Seriously, I hate for them to bring this Power Points crap! 👎:banghead::rolleyes::mad:

If you steer yourself, pun intended, over to the Steering Wheel + Racing Cockpit forum on GTP, you'll find that one of GTP member designed a simple wheel adapter for G25/G27 that allow you to use after-market wheel (Sparco, Momo and other as long as they're 70mm PCD). Here's a video with him using MOMO Montecarlo (comes in either 12.6" or 13.78" in. diameter):

If you have money to spare you can opt for Frex Simwheel which comes with quick-release wheel adapter so can quickly change wheel between races.

Nice video that upgrade looks pretty sweet. I'm defiantly going to check that thread out thanks a lot. He also ripped that track in that video 👍

Performance Points really shouldn't have happened. I can still enter a heavily modified vehicle in a lower class, just be shortening a few bars. Still, though, with Gran Turismo 5 coming out finally, it's not that big of a deal. Plus, the more Online vehicles will be a lot more realistic. I just hope they let me race my Blitz ER34 on th Green Hell (Nurburgring). Sounds like a plan, no?

:scared:GT6 to take another 5 years to develop!!:scared:

Lol I don't thinks so. It is probably misunderstanding or something. They actually said GT6 will take less time. But right now obviously they won't even mention it because they want everyone to buy GT5 and I think they will have some DLC to add more content.

Sony said PS3 will live 10yrs so that means 2016. May be that is too much but even if it there till 2014 I am sure we will see GT6 in 2-3years. They already have the GT5 engine and tech. All they have to do is keep on improving it and making it even more better ;)

PS: With updates they can make changes and adding new stuff. Then only there is possibility that they will keep doing this for next 3yrs or so and GT6 might be launch title for PS4  DLC are great but I would like to see GT6. A new game is always better I think as they can do more. DLC is just a nice add on feature
